What really works in this film are the jokes. Rarely does a joke miss, and never does one miss so horribly. Going the Distance comes equipped with an R rating for a reason. It's not questionable like No Strings Attached, and uses it not gratuitously like it's trying to hard to be funny. It's actually one of the dirtiest rom-coms I've seen in recent memory. And that is a compliment.I thought the comedy was impulsive and random. I laughed a lot. It was a really funny movie. At one point I wasn't able to breathe from laughing so hard. Above all, I was intrigued by by the romance. I guess, this movie speaks to me most of all due to the long-distance relationship. I've been on both sides of long-distance relationships.
