Trading in Pokemon Gen VI

Step 1: Set up an internet connection

- Go to System Settings -> Internet Settings -> Connection Settings -> New Connection
- Find the Wifi access point and connect to it (providing the Wifi password if necessary)
- Allow the system to test the connection to confirm that it was successful

Note: In order to connect to the Internet at any time, the Wifi must be enabled through the switch on the right side of the lower screen. The 3DS will only connect to Wifi networks that are saved in the Settings. New Wifi networks will need to be added directly from the Settings. The yellow light indicates whether Wifi is on or not.

Step 2: Create your Mii

- Go to the Mii Maker in the Home Screen
- Create your Mii in whatever way you want

Step 3: Add friends (Wifi required)

- Go to your Friend List in the Home Screen. This is the orange square with a happy face in the top part of the lower screen.
- The first "card" is yourself. Write down the Friend Code (12-digit number) and send it to your friends so they can add you.
- (Wifi required) Register new friends by entering in their Friend Codes. The name is unimportant since it will automatically set when the friendship is confirmed.
- if two parties add each other through their friend codes, they should both receive confirmation of being friends.

Step 4: Connect to the PSS in the Pokemon game (Wifi required)

- Run the Pokemon game and enter your save file
- Change the lower screen until you can access the PSS (Player Search System)
- (Wifi required) Enter the PSS

Step 5: Trade! (Wifi required)
==============================
- If your friend is also on the PSS, you will be able to see them directly
- Select the friend and choose Trade
- If your friend agrees to trade, the two of you can trade!
