  58. LA street racer Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) falls under the suspicion of the LAPD for a string of high-speed electronics truck robberies. Brian O'Connor (Paul Walker) an officer of the LAPD, joins the ranks of Toretto's highly skilled racing crew undercover to convict Toretto. However, O'Connor finds himself both enamored with this new world and in love with Toretto's sister, Mia (Jordana Brewster) As a rival racing crew gains strength, O'Connor must decide where his loyalties lie.
  59. The Fast & The Furious is loosely based on an article in a magazine about street clubs that race Japanese cars late at night. Domenic Toretto is the leader of a street gang that is under suspicion of stealing expensive electronic equipment. Brian O'Connor is an undercover police officer attempts to find out who exactly is stealing the equipment, while falling for Domenic's younger sister, Mia.
  60. Some people might not enjoy this film, yet I feel that it overall reflects what's going on out there on the streets both today as well as several years back when I used to race the streets of Tacoma, WA. The cars may have changed, but not much else. Street racing has always been and will be, a part of our culture (if not a somewhat darker part) as long as there are automobiles on roads. The acting is "average", although Vin Diesel is beginning to make it very plain that he is coming into his own as he gets more work. -Very cool in Pitch Black by the way. I give the action scenes a high score as they do give the viewer an excellent impression of the speed experienced behind the wheel of these cars. Special effects and stunts are "well toned" and placed where they need to be. By now you might guess that I really enjoyed this flick. I just hope the DVD is a collector's edition with lots of extras, especially with more racing footage! Kudos to Rob Cohen (your best film to date), Vin, and Paul for a very enjoyable afternoon indeed... Now go enjoy the movie. :)
  61. Point Break, with cars instead of surf boards. And really stupid drivers. Only not as good. And totally lacking in moral compass.
  62. Along with the cast's charm, they provide enough fuel for a fun one (movie).
  63. LAPD undercover cop Brian O&#39;Conner (<a href="/name/nm0908094/">Paul Walker</a>) infiltrates the world of illegal street racing in Los Angeles in order to find evidence connecting gang leader Dominic &quot;Dom&quot; Toretto (<a href="/name/nm0004874/">Vin Diesel</a>) with hijacking trucks and stealing over six million dollars&#39; worth of merchandise and electronic equipment. His job is complicated when he begins to fall in love with Dom&#39;s sister Mia (<a href="/name/nm0108287/">Jordana Brewster</a>), finds himself questioning Dom&#39;s involvement, and begins to suspect a rival group, led by Johnny Tran (<a href="/name/nm0950935/">Rick Yune</a>). Meanwhile, his superior, Sergeant Tanner (<a href="/name/nm0505971/">Ted Levine</a>), along with FBI Agent Harry Bilkins (<a href="/name/nm0058175/">Thom Barry</a>), are worried because truck drivers are beginning to arm themselves, so the FBI is planning to bust Toretto in 36 hours. The Fast and the Furious is loosely based on a May 1998 Vibe magazine article about illegal street racing, &quot;Racer X&quot;, by Ken Li. The article was adapted for the movie by American Samoa-born filmmaker Gary Scott Thompson (screen story) and American screenwriters Erik Berguist and David Ayer (screenplay). The movie has since been followed by seven sequels: <a href="/title/tt0322259/">2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)</a> (2003), <a href="/title/tt0463985/">The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006)</a> (2006), <a href="/title/tt1013752/">Fast &amp; Furious (2009)</a> (2009), <a href="/title/tt1596343/">Fast Five (2011)</a> (2011), <a href="/title/tt1905041/">Furious 6 (2013)</a> (2013), <a href="/title/tt2820852/">Furious Seven (2015)</a> (2015), and <a href="/title/tt4630562/">The Fate of the Furious (2017)</a> (2017). After aborting the heist, Brian calls for a life flight for Vince (<a href="/name/nm0776580/">Matt Schulze</a>), surprising Dom when he identifies himself as an LAPD officer. After the helicopter has taken Vince to the hospital, Dom, Mia, Leon (<a href="/name/nm0835001/">Johnny Strong</a>), and Letty (<a href="/name/nm0735442/">Michelle Rodriguez</a>) drive off together, leaving Brian on his own. Brian drives his Supra back to Dom&#39;s house to find Dom standing in the driveway with a shotgun, intending to go look for Jesse before Tran finds him, but Jesse drives up in his father&#39;s Jetta while Dom is still ordering Brian to move his car. Suddenly, Tran and Lance (<a href="/name/nm0498046/">Reggie Lee</a>) drive by on their motorcycles and begin shooting. They miss Brian, Dom, and Mia but kill Jesse. Brian jumps in the Supra and goes after them, followed by Dom in his Charger. In the chase that follows, Dom forces Lance off the road, and Brian shoots Tran. Dom begins to flee, but Brian pursues. They race each other for the railroad tracks, narrowly escaping a passing train, but Dom barrels into a truck, rolling the Charger and injuring himself. As police sirens draw closer, Brian hands the keys of his Supra to Dom and says, &quot;I owe you a 10-second car.&quot; Dom nods and drives away. A 10-second car is one that can run one quarter mile in 10.999 seconds or less from a standing start. To do that, it would need to be travelling at about 135 miles per hour (MPH) at the first quarter-mile mark. Acceleration is not constant. Coming off the line, it should reach 70 MPH in 3 seconds covering about 60 yards in the process. The teaser trailer, featured on the DVD release of the movie, features the song &quot;9 Teen 90 Nine&quot; by Limp Bizkit. The second theatrical trailer features the song &quot; My Way&quot;, also performed by Limp Bizkit. Some alternate cuts of the trailer also feature the song &quot;Rollin&#39;&quot; by Limp Bizkit and it is also featured in the film. a5c7b9f00b
