Big Red squeezed his finger. The shotgun roared.

Pa was only a foot away. The double barrels blasted a big hole right through Pa's stomach and out through the wall of the shack behind him, so that for one crazy second, Big Red could see pine trees right through his Pa.

Then Pa dropped to the floor like a sack of seed.
