- The party follow Ve'ramie through the tunnels, towards the spawning pit. Along the way, she warns them about the sentinel.
- Pausing for a moment outside of the sentinel's view, the party investigates a series of cocoons along the way, despite Ve'ramie's protests.
- Inside one of the cocoons was a twisted experiment, no doubt a victim of the Cult of the Unseen Eye. Before the creature could assault them, they dealt with it in a single blow.
- The party proceeds on, and handles the sentry, and Ve'Ramie, lest she betray them once they lose sight of her.
- Spotting a treasure in the refuse pool, they recover a sacrificial dagger from within.
- They proceed on to the refuse room. Once inside, they spot a goblin. Mira immediately puts the goblin to sleep and probes her mind for relevant information. She discovers the following information from her probe:
- The goblin does not have a good alignment.
- The goblin knows of an experimentation chamber, a sacrificial chamber, a corridor, and a slave pen.
- Primarily, her captors are Tel-Shanas. There are some humans in the ranks of the cultists, and a dwarf. They are cruel, ambitious, and treat her like a slave.
- Her job is to dispose of refuse. She is unsupervised regularly, and has considered launching herself into certain doom to escape this. She is not evil. She possesses no notable skills, and is not educated.
- She is collected every 12 hours. She is a common tribal goblin, and speaks Gaskhar and dabbles in Jine, the language of her captors. She is adequately wise and quick. She is not healthy, charismatic, strong, or intelligent.
- She bears a slave collar, a shovel, rags, and a burlap sack.
- In the chamber, the party discovers a freshly slain squid creature, matching the variety Xander observed in the prison.
- The party speaks to the goblin, who they find is named Mokha. She seems to be no friend to her captors. She does not have a key to bypass the fields of force, nor is she particularly restrained to her tasks, but if she were to flee, she astutely observes she would be eaten or slain in some horrible way. The only key she possesses is to the trash chute, which the party broke open.
- Helpfully, she directs the party to the two keys she knows of. One is in possession of the drider warden, the other is in possession of the jailor. She wishes them luck, and they leave.
- The Spider Queen decided to speak with Hivewarden Jaeless. The talks conclude amicably. Jaeless agreed to stop the tribute raids against the duergar up above, that she astutely did not correct. Throughout the conversation, it was discovered there are duergar the driders raid, but it was a very small concession for them to agree not to raid them, because, according to Jaeless, they provide 'formidable resistance'. They agreed not to raid them any longer as well, on the provision they are afforded equal spoils of the Temple of the Unseen Eye and are allowed to proliferate in the higher tunnels. She agrees to wait for now, until the party is ready for their assault.
- Vasileios takes this opportunity to seek council from Îsha, receiving this ominous message: Wraiths lie in wait ahead on your path. Call in darkness, born of void, they serve a pestilent mind. One in five bears omen of disaster, four in one an omen of safety may bring.
- Mira takes this opportunity to commune with her deity. The questions and answers are as follows:
- Is it safe to rest here? - unclear
- Are we suited to assault the temple as a party - no
- Are the prisoners savable if we slay the prison warden - yes
- (secret question) yes
- Do the means to assault the temple exist here - yes
- Is it in the upper layers - No
- If we allied with the driders? - with the help of others
- With the dwarves below - If an alliance is brokered
- Are the others the prisoners - Yes, and others below
- Does Sahil have good intentions? - Yes
- After we succeed in taking over the temple, do the driders have intentions to betray/kill us - no
- Should they be killed after the temple is liberated - no
- Bear in mind, all answers given with the attitudes and goals of the entity Mira contacted.
- The party discusses the alliance with the Spider Queen, and Alcaeus appears uncomfortable with it, but willing to defer to Vasileios's judgement.
- Vasileios speaks with Mira about the nature of her deity, which she dodges answering.
- The party rests, and is interrupted by an ambush. The creatures appear to be the Callers in Darkness Îsha warned Vasileios about.
