FORTRESS NEW

THE LAND OF WOE.

Long ago, a strange species of creatures ruled over mankind with an iron fist. The Stone Birds were, according to myths, very tall creatures, with lanky bodies, covered in dark feathers, multiple arms and multiple wings, with a bird head and human face, made of stone. They were said to be able to take on a human form as well, made of stone, which also gave them the name Stone-Men. They possessed the power to warp reality, and were fearsome, immortal warriors, who oppressed humanity, and crushed their hopes.

It is unclear just how it happened however, but it seems one of them, a high ranking Stone-Bird creature, was sent to the Netherworld as punishment, and stripped of it's powers, forced to remain in Stone-form. In the Netherworld, it came across a power called WALL (always capitalized). With it, this being managed to overthrow all of the Stone Birds, by it's lonesome, and crash their civilization.

The humans were free. But the fallout from the destruction caused the world to be rendered almost uninhabitable. Humanity for most part is concentrated in the island of Eyely, more specifically, the city of Fortress. Words from the world outside, and travelers come in quite frequently. Your characters begin their adventure here. Recently the city of Fortress has been struck by a crisis, and it's WALL wielding guardians have suffered as well.

In light of these events, and an upcoming future crisis, which is seen as incredibly likely, the organizational body of Fortress, located in the aptly named Central district, at the very core of Fortress, has called for help. You, were one of the people they found.
