  1. Rules I:
  2. We're playing Heretic! The game of hidden identities, witch hunts, and murders in the night. <wait.5>
  3. This game may seem familiar if you've played Town of Salem, Werewolf, Mafia, or The Resistance. <wait.5>
  4. Here's how it goes: If you're a heretic, you want to kill all of the Ishgardians. <wait.5>
  5. If you're an Ishgardian, you want to kill all the heretics. <wait.4>
  6. But how do you root out the heretics? You'll have to talk about it! <wait.5>
  7. At the beginning of the game, I will randomly select two players to be heretics, one player to be an Astrologian, <wait.1>
  8. and one player to be a Paladin. <wait.6>
  9. Everyone else is an Ishgardian. <wait.5>
  10. The heretics alone will know who the heretics are, <wait.2>
  11. but neither the Ishgardians nor the heretics will know who the Astrologian or the Paladin are. <wait.5>
  12. The Astrologian and Paladin are on Ishgard's side. <wait.4>
  13.
  14. Rules II:
  15. The game takes place in two phases: Night and Day. <wait.5>
  16. Every night, the heretics will discuss SILENTLY amongst one another who they want to kill. <wait.5>
  17. When they've agreed, one of them will /tell that name to me in secret. <wait.7>
  18. Also at night, the Paladin will decide upon one player to protect, and /tell that name to me in secret. <wait.6>
  19. Finally, the Astrologian will /tell me to ask one question: The identity of one player. <wait.3>
  20. I will tell the Astrologian the true identity of that player. <wait.5>
  21. After I've received everyone's answers, the night phase will end. <wait.3>
  22.
  23. Rules III:
  24. Rules III:
  25. Thus begins daytime! As the day begins, I will announce who has been killed overnight. <wait.6>
  26. However, if the Paladin has selected their target to protect, I will announce that the heretics failed to kill someone, and name who. <wait.6>
  27. During the daytime, the players will discuss amongst one another who they wish to execute. <wait.5>
  28. This conversation is public, and you can say anything to convince others to your side. <wait.5>
  29. After the time limit of daytime has elapsed, I will ask all players to publicly announce who they wish to be executed. <wait.5>
  30. The winner of this savage lottery will be chosen for execution, and thrown down the Witchdrop! <wait.7>
  31. In the event of a tie, no one shall die that day. <wait.5>
  32. Then, the next night will begin. <wait.5>
  33. The game will end with Ishgard's victory if all the heretics have been killed... <wait.5>
  34. But the game will end with the heretics' victory if as many heretics remain alive as Ishgardians. <wait.5>
  35. And that is the game of Heretic! If you have any questions, feel free to /tell me to ask them. <wait.5>
  36. If you'd like to play, let me know and I will add your name to the player list! <wait.3>
  37. If you'd just like to spectate, please stay off to the side of the group.
  38.
  39. Nighttime:
  40. It is night time. <wait.5>
  41. Heretics, decide amongst yourselves who gets the blade. <wait.5>
  42. Paladin, please /tell me "I'll save..." followed by the name of the person you wish to protect. <wait.8>
  43. Astrologian, please /tell me "Who is..." followed by the name of the person whose identity you wish to know. <wait.8>
  44. Now, ONE of the heretics, please message me the name of your intended victim. <wait.5>
  45. The moon waxes and wanes over Ishgard...
  46.
  47. Daytime (Death):
  48. The sun has risen on Ishgard. <wait.6>
  49. The heretics have plotted and schemed, and <t> has died, likely in some ghastly draconic ritual. <wait.7>
  50. <t>, please step aside. <wait.5>
  51. In the name of Halone, a culprit must be determined in this grisly deed! <wait.7>
  52. Every member of the faith still breathing, please decide upon a culprit. You have three minutes.
  53.
  54. Daytime (Defense):
  55. The sun has risen on Ishgard. <wait.6>
  56. Though the heretics have plotted and schemed, their efforts were for naught. <wait.5>
  57. Although they made an attempt on the life of <t>, their efforts were rebuffed by the Paladin. <wait.7>
  58. In the pursuit, however, the heretic who made the attempt escaped unidentified! Nonetheless, someone must die for this. <wait.7>
  59. Every member of the faith still breathing, please decide upon a culprit. You have three minutes.
  60.
  61. Vote Commences:
  62. All members of Ishgard's public may now speak your piece. <wait.2>
  63. State once, and only once, the name of the culprit that you suspect.
  64.
  65. Witchdrop:
  66. In the name of Halone, the Council of Ishgard has determined your life forfeit! <wait.5>
  67. Stand before Witchdrop, heretic <t>, and be cast down! <wait.2>
  68. Please step aside, <t>.
  69.
  70. No Consensus:
  71. Unfortunately, the Halonic Inquisition was unable to decide upon a culprit. <wait.5>
  72. Today passes bloodlessly, into night...
  73.
  74. Ishgard Wins:
  75. All of the Heretics have been purged from Ishgard! <wait.3>
  76. This marks the dawn of a new era for Ishgard. <wait.2>
  77. Halone looks on in pride. Ishgardians still breathing, stand proud, for you have won!
  78.
  79. Heretics Win:
  80. There are now as many heretics alive as there are Ishgardians. <wait.6>
  81. All has fallen into disarray. You have failed Halone. <wait.5>
  82. Heretics, make yourselves known as the leaders of this new rebellion!
  83.
  84.
  85.
  86. The following are macros for informing players of their hidden identities.
  87. These are all mouseover macros, so it is best if a player stands still while you send them. Don't forget to manually finish the Heretic macro with the names of the other Heretics.
