  3. Simple as that, really. People were coming from all parts of the continent to be trained. But there's only so much teaching to go around. And the half-breed wasn't really one to share.

  5. At the mention of his mask, though, a hand was brought up. A single digit hooking itself within the fabric to give it a light tug.

  7. "And don't worry about my 'smell', or whatever. It's not any of your business. But since you lost.." There's a slight pause, his head nodding towards the nearby stairs.

  9. "Get goin'."

  13. [09:24] Only then does Gendo finally decide to chime in on their back and forth. He leans up off the tree, unfolds his arms, letting them drop to his side, and speaks up.

  15. "No need ta go bootin' prospective students just yet. Uncle Kirai has a selection process, and it's best to let him handle that until you're a trusted student. He might seem a diamond where you see rough. Give him the chance to decide the worth of the people here."

  19. [09:29] stands there now with his arms at his side, he lacked animosity, Naki was an annoyance in Legosi's otherwise easygoing lifestyle. Controlling, assertive, unfit. Strength didn't make the decisions in this circumstance, on the elder Kurokaiyo. Looking to the left, the beastman spots just that person.

  21. "Your hands are disgusting." He comments, before speaking to Kirai.
  22. "This guy just beat me in a fight after challenging me, and is trying to take my place as a student here. What is your decision?" Legosi asks passively, awaiting a verdict while licking the blood from his forearms.

  26. [09:30] Naki says, "Should stop lettin' trash in."
  27. [09:30] Kirai Kurokaiyo says, "Obviously your fight just now has no bearing upon my decision. This was not part of the tournament which is still months away."
  28. [09:30] Naki says, "It's annoyin'."
  29. [09:31] Naki asks, ".. What?"
  30. [09:31] Naki asks, "So you're holdin' a tournament to see who gets taught?"
  31. [09:31] Kirai Kurokaiyo says, "Yes."
  32. [09:31] Naki says, "Waste of time.."
  33. [09:31] Naki says, "Should just start teachin' people."
  34. [09:31] Naki says, "Whatever, it's your school. I'm outta here."
  35. [09:32] Kirai Kurokaiyo says, "Then suit yourself. The Tournament is to seperate the chafe from those with real potential."

  37. [09:32] Naki says, "Start kickin' them out then."

  42. [09:33] Legosi says, "That guy. .was trying to seriously hurt me."
  43. [09:34] Pearl asks, "A-Are you okay?"
  44. [09:34] Legosi says, "He missed his chance at my chest."
  45. [09:34] Kirai Kurokaiyo says, "Something you'll occassionally run into, as a martial artist. If you're not prepared to endure pain, then you should choose a different path."
  46. [09:34] Kirai Kurokaiyo says, "Or get strong enough not to fear it."
  47. [09:35] Gendo Kurokaiyo says, "He was definitely a little more bloodthirsty than the regulars."
  48. [09:35] Gendo Kurokaiyo says, "I should go check on my farm though."
  49. [09:35] Kirai Kurokaiyo says, "Do so. Ah, also Gendo I have some things for you."
  50. [09:35] The boy turns, raising an eyebrow to his uncle.

  54. [09:35] Gendo Kurokaiyo exclaims, "Ooh!"
  55. [09:36] Gendo Kurokaiyo exclaims, "This will be useful! Thanks Uncle Kirai!"
  56. [09:36] Kirai hands him a note indicating the hidden location of a large stash of wood and stone.
  57. (Kirai Kurokaiyo)

  60. [09:36] Kirai Kurokaiyo says, "Mmmhm."
  61. [09:36] Kirai Kurokaiyo says, "Oh, I also have some fish scales."
  62. [09:36] Kirai Kurokaiyo says, "I'm not sure if those would be useful for you."
  63. [09:37] Gendo Kurokaiyo says, "They likely will be in due time."
  64. [09:37] Gendo Kurokaiyo says, "I'm stockpiling everything I can."
  65. [09:37] held up his arms as his body was riddled in small lesions, nothing he wouldn't recover from. His appearance screamed pain, but he seemed relatively passive about it all, he wasn't out of the running yet.

  67. "My life has always been eat or be eaten. I don't fear nature's vision." He says, aiming to continue with what he was doing. . .which for the past few hours has been playing watchwolf at the entrance. He had nothing to really tend to his wounds with.

  71. [09:39] Gendo Kurokaiyo says, "The more reagents I can get my hands on, the quicker I can make better potions."
  72. [09:41] Turning away from Gendo, Kirai would look at Legosi with mild concern. The young lad certainly was covered in wounds, minor as they may be. It was still a terrible risk of infection...

  74. "Come child, stand by the water with me. We should clean those..." He'd say softly, not wanting a small scratch to become a larger problem.
  75. (Kirai Kurokaiyo)

  78. [09:43] stops what he was doing and then moves on to the water near the Kirai, looking into it, he saw the scarred tissue over his face. With the man's aid, he would have begun to clean the various cuts along his body, using his tattered shirt to help clot and soak up the red. This was a few miles better than just instinctually licking himself.

  80. "Thanks." He says, as his reflection was blotted out with crimson.
  81. (Legosi)

[09:49] Not only would Kirai use a silk cloth he kept on his person to assist in the cleaning of Legosi's wounds, but as they worked he'd casually hum a simple tune from his homeland across the sea. It was... uncannily soothing, and as Legosi listened he would find all the pain fading from his mind as if it had never been there at all.

  86. For afterall, Kirai used Illusions and that melody being hummed so gently was woven through with them. As they echoed through Legosi's mind, they drew a subtle shroud over the part of it that registered pain.

  88. Once the wound cleaning was finished, Kirai would produce some gauze bandages from inside his robe. He mostly kept them in case a foolish child like Aiyamari or someone else broke their hands hitting trees gracelessly, but the wounds Legosi had endured needed them just as badly.

  90. He'd apply the bandages with at least some skill. He certainly wasn't a practiced medic, but he was passible when it came to such a simple task. He'd had to do it quite a bit in his past, afterall.

  94. [09:52] Yami awoke and looked over to his father. He smiled, he had not seen the man in some time. But since then the boy had learned to heal basic wounds with relative ease. He was managing his time magic in a more refined way now.
  95.  
  96. He figured this would be very useful to his father and the others in the family. Specifically his father, since he aimed to learn the same magic as the boy. Yami sad by the waters edge and peeled a carrot trying to figure out how to incorporate it into a meal.
  97.  
  98. He figured he could steam them, put them in rice and add pork to the bowl. Now what about spices? He needed tons of spices and maybe some new pots and pans to test out his creations!
  99.  
  100. For now he waves to his father after watching him attempt to heal the young boy beside him from what seems to be a sparing bout?
  101.  
  102. "Father, I've learned to heal wounds beyond the basic ones I was doing before.. I can teach the others if they want to learn."
  103.  
  104. He spoke and then went back to peeling his carrot.

  108. [09:53] Kirai Kurokaiyo says, "Good to know Yami, that will be very useful indeed."
  109. [09:53] felt more at ease, his central nervous system not sending pulsing pain synapses incessantly to his form. He did not dislike this, but he would need another shirt.
