» | BACKGROUND:
    ¤ hyoyeon was born in seoul, south korea, as the second child to two busy parents. in all honestly, she was ab it of a surprise, because her parents hadn't originally intended to have a second child, but they were happy none the less. growing up, though, hyoyeon was particularly close to her older sister, hyejin. her parents really did love their children, but they both worked long and busy hours, so hyoyeon and her sister were often sent to their aunt's house after school until they could be picked up. because of this, hyoyeon is also really close with her cousin, who happens to be monsta x's wonho. they both became very close, both sharing the same dream to become idols. hyoyeon's school life was pretty average, and she had average grades. the only class she really liked though was music, because the teacher always used to praise her singing and violin skills (and because it required minimal studying). she was scouted for sm entertainment when she was ten years old, and after discussion with her family, she decided to begin her training there, but still focus on her school work. she later transferred to Seoul school of performing arts, and continued to attend there even after debuting, before eventually graduating, and turning to focus completely on ion.

» | PERSONALITY:
    ¤ hyoyeon is probably one of the most lively members in the group, and always looks as if she's on a permanent sugar high. she is the type of person to honestly have so much energy and be bouncing off the walls at any time of the day (or night, much to her members' annoyance). however, despite this, if she is tired, she literally becomes dead and unresponsive, and will probably be able to fall asleep while standing on her own two feet. she always seems to be talking a mile a minute, and has a constant running commentary of pretty much everything. however, despite seeming like an overly friendly person, she can actually be very picky about who she will and won't let into her circle of friends (something that started back when she was a teenager). if she doesn't like you, you will know, because she doesn't try to hide it. she can be extremely salty, and gets annoyed by really small things (such as people putting her WIZARD OF OZ dvd away and not telling her), but she never really gets very angry, doesn't normally blow a fuse (she just gets pissed off for five minutes before she's forgotten about it completely). she is a very clingy and cuddly person, and honestly really loves skinship, which is why she has a habit of appearing out of nowhere and curling up to her members. hyoyeon is probably the worst person to rant to, because even though she will sit there and listen, she has a habit to interject her own comments about the situation, which are usually no help at all. but despite this, she does a lot of ranting about the most ridiculous subjects herself (which mostly revolve around comebacks of BTS, and how they should not be allowed to be that attractive). she is a self proclaimed variety queen, and absolutely loves going on variety shows, because she is shameless and has no problems completely embarrassing herself on live tv. she can make viewers laugh a lot without actually trying, due to her normal running commentary. she is probably the most embarrassing member, and that one member that the others worry about the most in public. hyoyeon is also extremely protective over the people she loves. despite being one of the youngest, she's sort of like the mother of the group, because she has a habit of fussing over people, even if they're older than her. she's taken a particular liking to the MINI ROOKIES of sm entertainment, and NCT, and can often be seen glaring at anyone who dares to even think badly about her "babies". she is always in charge of waking people up in the morning (which she will do nicely the first time round, and then come by and sing songs from THE WIZARD OF OZ loudly and off-key if you still don't get up), and is constantly treating the rest of the group like her babies, even if most of them are older than her. she hates confrontation, and usually ignores her problems until they go away. hyoyeon also guilts really easily, and feels bad about things that have nothing to do with her or aren't her fault, and it can sometimes eat away at her for long periods of time, so people have to sit her down and force her to talk about it so things can go back to normal with her.

    ¤ WONHO of MONSTA X. – they're cousins, and they're close because they both shared the same interest of debuting. she often goes to visit him a lot (which is lowkey because she is very good at persuading him to buy bubble tea for her). but they are really close as far as cousins go, since they spent a lot of time together as they grew up, and she was continuously rooting for him during NO MERCY.
    ¤ JAEHYUN of NCT. – they met when he was a trainee, and hyoyeon took a liking to him and brought him under her wing. they still talk a lot, and she's almost like a bossy older sister / mom to him. she's also very protective over him, and always makes sure the other trainees are treating him right and that he's eating enough. basically she just likes fussing over him, and some of the other trainees are scared to mess with him because hyoyeon is extremely protective over her "baby".
    ¤ JAEMIN of NCT. - pretty much the same as with jaehyun, hyoyeon basically treats him as a son (and is actually on good terms with his mother), and again is extremely protective over him. no one can quite work out why she seemed to take a liking to those two specific trainees above the others, but they don't question it.

» | HOW YOU MEET:
    ¤ they met was probably about three years after ion had debuted, at the entertainment company. he had witnessed hyoyeon trip over a bump in the carpet and almost go flying. of course, she simply stood up and quickly walked off thinking something along the lines of "please tell me he did not just see me do that." at the time, she didn't know who he was, and it wasn't until a few months later when one of her group mates started talking about exo (she hadn't really been following them, because the only group hyoyeon is into is bts) was she able to put a name to his face. afterwards, she goes all out to avoid him, planning to keep it up for a few years until he has forgotten about the whole thing. however, it doesn't really work, because they met again only a few months later when hyoyeon went to go and see the trainees (aka jaehyun) he was in there with them and talking to some of them. he later approached her to ask if she was hae from ion, to which she said yes, and asked if she was the same person who stacked it in the hallway. hyoyeon straight out lied to his face and told him that it wasn't her and that there must be another trainee with the same looks. after that, she didn't really speak to him until they were starring in the same drama

» | HOW YOU ACT AROUND EACH OTHER:
    ¤ BEG | she doesn't really like him at first, but this is just because she's embarrassed and her pride is hurt because he witnessed her falling over in the middle of the hallway, even though it it happened a few years ago, but she can tell from the look in his eye that he still remembers. however, he's kind of shy because he doesn't have experience with girls, and he didn't intend to make her annoyed at him. but hyoyeon then feels guilty because he looks like a kicked puppy, so she tries to be a bit nicer to him.
    ¤ MID | towards the middle they start to become closer, but hyoyeon does a lot of bitching and ranting to him. he sits there and listens to her every word because he's completely whipped, and just doesn't want her to stop talking to him. however, at this point she starts making him talk about himself, because she feels bad that she's just been talking about herself (and also low-key because she's protective over him and wants to make sure she doesn't have to go and beat anyone up for messing with him). she's also started being really clingy towards him, which is how her band members know that she actually enjoys his company and isn't just using him to rant to.
    ¤ END | there is a lot of sexual tension because they're in that phase where they aren't dating, but they're not exactly friends either, and they aren't really sure what they are, but neither of them wants to actually bring it up, especially not hyoyeon because she actually really likes him and doesn't want to scare him off, even though she thinks he might sort of like her too. he just goes back to be really awkward, again because he doesn't know how to act around girls, especially not a girl he kind of sort of likes.

    ¤ her bitching / ranting to him about something ridiculous like bts' new comeback and how yoongi should not be allowed to make expressions like that and her lover interest just sits there nodding his head and taking it all very seriously.

    ¤ a false alarm when all the girls think that she is dating her love interest and there is a lot of screaming and yelling, but then she's just standing there like "lol what" because she isn't actually dating anyone and they all get disappointed.
    ¤ hyoyeon getting to meet bts and then she flips her shit and freaks out and has to be dragged away because she started screaming hysterically by one of the members, and she later goes back to apologise and tries to stay calm when they all give her an autograph.
    ¤ her bursting into the training room to threaten one of the trainees who'd said something mean about jaehyun or jaemin, and her having to be dragged away (again), yelling "nobody touches my baby" at the top of her lungs and jaehyun/jaemin is just face palming because he's so embarrassed, and her love interest just happens to walk in at this point and looks amused but is really wondering what the hell is going on.
