One Lock Too Many

“Alright Spike, I'll see you tonight!” Twilight called from the entry
way of the library. Spike was leaving to help Rarity for the day and she'd have the library all to herself. After waving Spike off, she closed the door to the library and locked it. Almost as an afterthought, the flipped the sign to 'Closed' before cloistering herself in the underground room. She'd been waiting for this moment for the longest time and she wasn't going to miss it.

Once in the quiet underground, she pulled out a locked chest that she'd hidden long ago and had slowly filled it ever since. Unlocking the chest, she started to go over her mental check list making sure everything was ready.

“A Modified Unicorn Magic Suppressor. Designed to weaken but no completely cut off a Unicorn's magic. I have to test this out first or everything could fall apart later.” She levitated the horn covering in front of her and examined it thoroughly. She tested the lock several times ensuring there were no trouble with it. Lastly, she placed the key on a nearby table and placed the device on her horn before locking it into place. She could feel her magic being covered with what felt like a cold blanket and she had to focus just to lift the key back up to the lock. But she could and the second the key turned she could feel her magic return to her. She smiled as she could feel her plans for today start to fall into place.
