  6.
  7. Billy was born a tiny squid uplift in a tiny squid uplift tube, along with thousands of other caeligo. After a short period of genetically-shortened maturation and a month-long info dump, Billy was put through the CAST Uplift Occupation Survey, earning high marks in a surprisingly diverse number of areas. Billy was placed on board the CNB Sathanas, a battleship in the CAST navy, to begin his training in communications disruption, while receiving secondary training in piloting and basic man-to-squid combat. His trainer, a human, took great pride in instructing the squid.
  8.
  9. After several years aboard the Sathanas, Billy was deemed fit to operate independently within CAST, and was placed on a number of low-profile operations that used his hacking ability to great success. During this time Billy developed a number of contacts, some less than savoury, and started up a small side-business selling human-style hats, utterly enamoured with his memory of his old mentor. Billy slowly grew his business and his skills over a number of operations across a single solar system, proud to be able to assist his uplifters in such a significant (to him) way. During this time he purchased his dropship, which remains his most prized possession.
  10.
  11. After several years assisting CAST, Billy suffered a severe psychotic break, a "rare" side-effect of the uplifting process. Due to his abilities and slight standing within the military, Billy's immediate superiors located a local "Expert" on the nature of aliens, chosen more for his price point than his skill. Billy eventually recovered, though he was greatly changed. He retained his hacking and piloting ability, but some of his less desirable personality traits were amplified. CAST, unwilling to put someone as compromised as Billy was at the head of anything significant, moved him off of active duty, leaving him free to pursue his own interests for a time.
  12.
  13. Billy took the opportunity to grow his hat business into the manufacturing giant it is today, its success fueled as much by his illness-induced obsession as it was by his business sense. In order to fund his bussiness' growth, Billy took on a number of side contracts, one of which helped to prove the innocence of a local Nintir accused of a crime he hadn't committed. Helped back to a semblance of normality by his newfound passion for hats, Billy was once again returned to active duty in CAST.
  14.
  15. Billy was placed on board the (Insert crew ship name here), once again filling the role of communications officer. While he has stabilized, CAST are unwilling to place him in any position of importance for the time being.
  16.
  17. Stunts:
  18. Military grade: Aircraft, Gunnery, Communications
  19. Swap a Skill: Gunnery for Slug Throwers
  20. Have a thing: Assault Dropship
  21.
  22.
  23. Aspects:
  24. Beaker Baby: Billy had an encyclopedia shoved into his head during his childhood. He's forgotten most of what he learned from that, but some of it comes forward from time to time, either as blatantly incorrect information or as the answer to some obscure question.
  25.
  26. Military Man: Billy is very familiar with the inner workings of militarys in general, but most specifically the CAST navy.
  27.
  28. Street Justice: Not everyone Billy dealt with had a license to do what they were doing. Billy can still call on these contacts from time to time, but god forbid they come calling on him.
  29.
  30. She May Not Look Like Much: Billy loves his ship more than life itself, and he knows nearly everything there is to know about it, inside and out. Redlining anything doesn't make him particularly happy, but he knows exactly how to go about doing it.
  31.
  32. Cracks: Billy isn't really all there, mentally. Whether it's his bizarre obsession for humans or his frankly creepy love for his ship, Billy's got some issues.
  33.
  34. Former Glory: Billy mattered to CAST at one point. He still does, but more as a failed investment then as a valued operative. He knows this, and he would very much like to return to where he was before.
  35.
  36. Self-Made Squid: Billy has an unhealthy obsession with hats, and their manufacture. Don't get between him and his hat company.
  37.
  38. Off the Grid: While Billy is familiar with government, and how to work within it, he's more than capable of working outside of technically legal boundaries, and has gotten quite good at it over the years.
  39.
  40. Overqualified: Billy's used to having access to the latest equipment, and he likes his toys. Working with the outdated equipment on-board the (Crew ship name here) is certainly something he can do, but he'd kill to get his hands on some real ewar gear and the chance to use it.
  41.
  42. Blackballed: CAST aren't very eager to bring Billy back on board full time following his break, and nobody else is going to hire him on for the same reason, despite his apparent recovery. Billy's very reliant on his current crew, and he knows it as well as anyone else.
