  1. >You open your eyes.
  2. >A small little sting hits your eyes, making you close them again.
  3. >The stings keep coming and you raise your hand over your face.
  4. >The stings hit your hand, and the more awake you become the more you feel.
  5. >You move your hand and look up into the sky.
  6. >It’s raining.
  7. >You wipe the rain from your face.
  8. >The rain feels sticky.
  9. >You look at your hand and see that the tips of your fingers are stained red.
  10. >A chill goes down your spine and you try sitting up.
  11. >A blinding pain hits you, and you grasp your head.
  12. >You groan in pain and lay back down.
  13. >The rain continues to fall down on you as the pain subsides to a dull throb.
  14. >You again try sitting up, but this time much slower and controlled.
  15. >While this does help, your head still throbs with pain.
  16. >Once you’ve sat up you take a look at your surroundings.
  17. >Your sitting on grass.
  18. >To your left and right there’s grass, stretching for miles, until they disappear from your field of vision.
  19. >The ground your on is uneven.
  20. >You’re on the side of a hill.
  21. >Turning to your right you notice that your statement is partially true.
  22. >You’re on the side of a Highway.
  23. >Turning more you see a Semi truck hanging off the edge of the highway.
  24. >Placing your hand on your knees you take your time in getting up.
  25. >The pain in your head increases, and you breathe in sharply.
  26. >But it’s still tolerable and you rise until you’re standing.
  27. >You notice that there seem to be flashing lights a bit past the semi.
  28. >Some sort of accident?
  29. >You trudge up the hill, the scene unfolding before you as you climb.
  30. >There was indeed an accident, and a bit to the right is a blue Toyota Paseo.
  31. >The front end has been bent in, and the remains of the windshield lay upon the hood of the car.
  32.
  33. >Its headlights blink, indicating that the hazards have been turned on.
  34. >There are signs that cover a good thirty yards in either direction of the wreck.
  35. >You look past the wreck and notice that a crowd of people have formed a circle of some sort.
  36. >Gently you climb over the car and walk to the circle.
  37. >Their murmurs rise above the noise of the rain.
  38. >”Is she going to be ok?”
  39. >”When will the ambulance get here?”
  40. >”She needs to wake up soon.”
  41. >”At least she’s breathing.”
  42. >You force your way into the circle, trying to see who they’re referring to.
  43. >You finally push through the last bit and see what they were talking about.
  44. >On the street lies a pale girl.
  45. >She’s covered in blankets, but the blankets aren’t doing much.
  46. >They’re stained with blood.
  47. >A man is squatting beside her, his hands on her stomach.
  48. >She seems familiar, but you can’t figure out why.
  49. >You get closer, out of morbid curiosity.
  50. >The amethyst strands of her hair covers her face.
  51. >For some reason, the more you see her, the more familiar she becomes.
  52. >She coughs.
  53. >Violently.
  54. >So much so, that her eyes shoot open.
  55. >Her eyes reflect pain.
  56. >They look around desperately and she manages to wheeze out,
  57. >”Anonymous?!?”
  58. >You frown.
  59. >The name seems familiar, just like the girl herself, but again, you can’t seem to place how.
  60. >The man is startled.
  61. >”Miss? Are you ok Miss?”
  62. >He tries to take her pulse, but she is too busy looking around for this Anonymous person.
  63. >After a while, her eyes settle on you.
  64. >The blue of her eyes pierces you.
  65. >She smiles.
  66. >Not just any smile
  67. >But a smile so unique and special, that it only belongs to one person.
  68. >Her lover.
  69. >She reaches out a pale arm, covered in her blood out at you.
  70. >Her voice is barely above a whisper, and you normally wouldn’t be able to hear it above the rain.
  71. >But the world is quiet, and you can hear her words as if they’re thunder.
  72. >”Hello… Darling.”
  73. >
  74. >
  75. >
