Feb. Plans, also got a PS3 =3 #pastebinmonday 1/31/17

TL:DR:

-Got a PS3
-might have to hold off on quitting CVS for a bit longer because I got a PS3
-on the bright side gonna do a casual Spyro the Dragon playthrough soon.
-Expect February to be more casual then usual because 4 in February/Finish February
-Expect mostly Shantae: Half-Genie Hero speedruns for the near future.
-On the 11th I will be routing Non-Shop Collectibles Hero Mode in Shantae: Half-Genie for the 12 Hour Challenge.
	-maybe Good Ending Hero and/or Non-Shop Collectibles Normal Mode too
-Buy Shantae: Half-Genie Hero already motherfucker it's amazing
-Will have the Sonic CD All Good Futures (Sonic) route written up by the 12 Hour Challenge
-Red_Jinjo brought back the Banjo-Tooie Challenge Series, will be participating in it, not sure if I'll stream it though (details: http://pastebin.com/Rs5SM0zd)
-seriously why haven't you bought Shantae: Half Genie Hero yet

For people who actually know how to read:

So... first things first. I kind of bought a PS3 on a whim the other day... the good news is fuck yea I finally have a PS3 and can get a lot of games for that and I'll go over that shortly, but as of right now I have Spyro the Dragon, Kingdom Hearts 2.5, and Okami HD. Yes, I spent over 100 bucks on a PS3 and all I've gotten so far are remakes and a port that I can get on other systems. 2 of them (KH2 + Okami) I've already played and beaten. I am a part of the problem. (Though I really got it for Birth By Sleep and also bc I lost my copy of KH2)

The bad news is I spent a lot more money then I should have on it so I probably have to postpone quitting CVS a bit because of that. Whoops.

So instead of being smart and just saying I probably won't be able to do much, I'm about to bite off way more then I can chew, so here's some plans for February:

Part 1: Casually:

There's a yearly thing about to happen called 4 in February (or was it Finish February, I think it was either or), a sort of gaming tradition I saw people start a couple of years ago where you're challenged to beat a bunch of unfinished games, or play through and beat new ones! And boy do I have a looooot of games I need to finish and play.
I'll probably fail to be honest but that doesn't mean I'm not gonna try my ass off, so hopefully expect more Casual Playthrough World Record Attempts™  then usual.

Here's the games I wanna try playing through and beating on stream:

Spyro the Dragon: This will probably be the first thing I go for, been wanting to play through this game for FOREVER.

Earthbound: Started this a few months ago, then Pokemon Sun came out. Then Shantae: Half-Genie Hero came out the next month. I should start this first but like I said, I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY wanna play Spyro.

Maybes:

Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword: If I streamed this it wouldn't start from the beginning, and I don't know how people would feel about that. I really want to beat this before Breath of the Wild comes out, but it's so hard to get myself to wanting to play it.  I don't think I could force myself to replay it from the beginning.

Bomberman 64 100%: Wouldn't be a playthrough so much as getting everything in it, though to be fair when I finally got around to beating this game a couple years ago I didn't even get much of the collectibles, they're so far out of the way. Also, I tried starting this offstream a couple weeks ago and ended up game overing in the 1st level after collecting everything, which I had to look up how to do, and ended up rage quitting.

Super Mario: Last Impact: Super Mario 64 Romhack

Sonic Before the Sequel: 2D Sonic fangame, wanted to play through this and Sonic: After the Sequel before Sonic Mania comes out

Other games I'm considering playing through on stream at some point:

Kingdom Heart: Birth By Sleep: Have it on the Kingdom Hearts 2.5 pack, don't want to play through this until I get around to finishing 358/2 Days (offstream of course), which I plan on doing once I finish Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 6 (on case 4 so far, so I guess a bit more then halfway? There's apparently 3 dlc cases but 2 of them aren't canon so I'm only gonna bother with one of them most likely)

Advance Wars 1: Not sure if people would really consider this to be a good casual watch but hey I've watched people play this casually before so who knows.

Okami HD: Wanna do a full playthrough in a marathon style, one sitting maybe, athough iirc that would take 24 hours lol maybe in a couple months.

Part 2: Speedrunning

the next 12 hour challenge is coming up from the 10th to the 12th, gonna use that as an excuse to route out Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Non-Shop Collectibles Hero Mode on the 11th. It'll be pretty similar to 100% Hero Mode but without gem grinding.

You'd think, if it was so similar, why bother doing it for the 12 hour challenge? Well I need to spend a lot of time trying to figure out where Gemjug will be worth having. For those who don't know, Gemjug is an item that's traded for Warp Dance to have, you can trade back and forth though. In 100% it's worth it to have midgame because it's really useful for clipping through walls and the only time you need warp dance there is to get from part 1 to part 2 of Tassel Town, and you're already going through tassel town 1 a bunch for gem grinding anyways so it saves more time then it loses. With NSC we can't rely on that pro. Did find some out of bounds stuff in Tassel Town 1 that might lessen the timeloss, but I will have to do a ton of timing to see where it's truly worth having.

I'm also considering routing out either or both Hero Mode Good Ending and Normal Mode NSC on the 10th or 12th. 10th is somewhat unlikely since I will most likely have off work that day, but I will be taking off the 11th + 12th.

I know you're usually supposed to learn a NEW game for the 12 hour challenge but I have 7-8 speedgames with categories I want to get better times in and new categories I want to route, would rather not add another one to the list for now, especially since I JUST learned Shantae: Half Genie Hero a month ago.

If I do decide to learn another game it'll probably be Super Mario Advance Warpless. I'd say Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town but that's definitely NOT gonna be something I can do in 12 hours especially since the categories I wanna run won't likely be any marriage category.

And now for something Tooie related: Red_Jinjo is bringing back his challenge series back after a loooong hiatus from it. Here's some details but the challenge will start Feburary 1st and I'll have 3 weeks to submit. http://pastebin.com/Rs5SM0zd Not really sure if I should bother streaming it because the whole idea is to compete to find the fastest route but we'll see how I feel. Might also do a no-reset of All Puzzles for the fuck of it but every time I tell myself I will I either end up having other shit to do or I just don't feel like it.

Expect most of my speedruns in the near future to be Shantae: Half Genie Hero. It's a really fun game to run and route and there's at least 5 categories I want to have ran (100% hero, Non-Shop Collectibles both Hero and Normal modes, and Good Ending both Hero and Normal, all No-Warp Through the Danger variables). I will probably route and run some of the DLC when that comes out too.

I do need to finish up my written route of Sonic CD All Good Futures (Sonic) though, been slacking on that. Gonna try to finish that before the 12 hour challenge starts.

Also the Nuts and Bolts any% tutorial needs to be done, maybe once I can finally quit my job and finally finish that animation I've spent over 9-10 months on gets done I can finally start remaking this because it's loooong overdue.
