- After Lelouch had suited up in his Zero outfit, Phane led him to a small waiting room. He sat in one of the less-than-comfortable seats there and awaited the arrival of those he would be commanding. Against his wishes, Celo Phane had forced a lanyard onto his neck which read "ZERO", and underneath that, "Japan". Something about the nature of the lanyard, or perhaps some kind of magic Mr. Phane put on it, made it completely impossible to remove.

- All three summoned combatants suddenly found themselves with little name tags hanging from their necks, similar to Lelouch's. The muscular man was "JEAN-PIERRE POLNAREFF", from France. The stoic creature was "MEWTWO", from Parts Unknown. Finally, the equine was "RAINBOW DASH", from Ponyville. "I know that there are some people here who don't appreciate the effort I put into making these, but don't worry - you only have to wear these for this trial round here. This is just to speed along the friendship process."
