  1. The Venetian Chronicles: Suzuko
  2. Yuuko: (fumbling with the camera before mounting it on a tripod. Before adjusting the focus on the camera and Clearing her throat) this is Council envoy Yuuko Shirakawa, agent of the dragon, and historian for the archives in Dublin Ireland. As part of the Chronicles initiative, I am interviewing active agents from the 21st century so that future generations may better understand the context in which events are taking place. This session is being recorded on 07/09/2016 in Greenfield Ireland, at the Green residence.
  3. Yuuko: Could you please state your full name, date of birth, affiliation and rank.
  4. Suzuko: Uhm… Suzuko Lynn Tanada, um… nine nine ninety-six, Templar, Corporal of the Horse or something like that.
  5. Yukko: Can you tell us about your family?
  6. Suzuko: Sure, uh… my mother is a mathematics professor at a community college back home, my father was in the U.S. Army, Intelligence, posthumously a lieutenant colonel. He spent a lot of time in the Middle East. He disappeared when I was thirteen.
  7. Yuuko: Where did you grow up?
  8. Suzuko: A bit North of Boston, kind of old blue collar factory town, a lot of different kinds of people.
  9. Yuuko: How would you describe your childhood?
  10. Suzuko: I… don’t know. It had some moments, sunshine, green grass and good grades and all that, but it mostly kind of sucked. Really didn’t even have friends, I’m still touchy about people who say they are ditching me to run off and play together without me, so to speak, hehe… um… actually, I’d rather not get into that.
  11. Yuuko: How were you first introduced to the secret world?
  12. Suzuko: I’m a bee. So I suppose the usual way? I woke up in the middle of the night with powers I couldn’t really control. It wasn’t too bad, not as bad as I’ve heard happened to some anyway. Eventually, it seems, a templar agent found me and gave me a letter of introduction and an invitation to come to London. I took it as sincere advice at the time, now I have my doubts.
  13. Yuuko: Did you have any contact (either directly or indirectly) with your society before your powers awakened?
  14. Suzuko: No, I had just graduated high school, and was looking forward to college. I didn’t believe in any of this. I thought it was all a lot of nonsense. In a way, I still do, I mean what is a god but an immortal who’s been around a lot longer than I have? Um, yeah, never mind, sorry.
  15. Yuuko: Can you tell us what a normal day looks like for you?
  16. Suzuko: Lately I have a lot of free rein, having proven myself I suppose, or proven that I do better work when left to my own devices. I keep an eye on things on Kaidan or other places if I hear they need an eye on them. Sometimes this turns into leading a squad on more dangerous than usual patrol. It’s usually quick and violent, other people take care of the clean up, and most of the paper work, and I’m back on time for supper, so to speak. I haven’t been kept on a long assignment in quite some time.
  17. Yuuko: Has your work for your society ever brought you into contact with anyone who would be considered historically significant (world leaders, celebrities, scientist and engineers.)
  18. Suzuko: I suppose it might have. I tend not to think of those kind of things. I’m a little clueless about the whole social hierarchy thing. I suppose some might see that as rude, but I see them as petty. I guess that’s besides the point. The thing is I know I have, but I don’t really remember… because it wasn’t that memorable.
  19. Yuuko: Have you ever seen an event reported in the media and known that it was a lie and if so can you tell us what really happened?
  20. Suzuko: I um… no, I think it’d be best not to remark on that. Even in this context there are things I shouldn’t say.
  21. Yuuko: What was the last event you can remember that shook both the secret world and the mundane equally?
  22. Suzuko: That’s a tough question. I mean the bombing in Kaidan is probably the biggest crossover event since the Tower of Babylon, the more recent ones seem so insignificant in comparison as to be not worth mentioning.
  23. Yuuko: Have you ever participated in an event considered historically important to the mundane world and if so was it on behalf of your society
  24. Suzuko: Historically important? I don’t know. I suppose time will tell. I like to think I’ve done a lot of good defending the mundane world from things it isn’t even aware of… but how it all will pan out remains to be seen.
  25. Yuuko: Thank you for taking the time to speak with us Suzuko.
  26. Suzuko: Um, oh, well... thank you.
