  1. @SPARKLE joker tips are use gun, nair when it will hit them, use movement for grabs cause he has a pretty good dash game, learn how to use rebels guard properly (very easy to use it bad), edge guard with bair especially when double jumps are gone, with arsen out react to whether your opponent chooses to camp or to approach or even play normal and make your decisions to play either safer or more aggressive depending, tetrakarn is a broken, absurd move and find every spot you can use it. practice uair dragdown confirms in training mode, understand you probably won't actually hit fair one uair dragdown without getting grabs to cause spotdodges earlier so be careful, learn how to down gun off stage without dying so you can get free % or lucky misinput ko's on your opponents, and how to gun dash recover from ledge to increase your available mixups. it is kind of hard to punish stuff oos as joker, so try to use movement as much as possible instead of ending up in shield. if you do have to, bair oos and dair oos are the best choices depending on the move, but they won't punish everything. not much you can do for in front of your shield but grab if it reaches or try to parry ftilt or jab, but i don't think that's too wise to try unless you have a really good sense for it. use dair absolutely for short chars like pichu and pikachu, who you will never be able to shield grab, or just roll out of the situation away from the direction they just attacked you. know when you can dthrow fair dash attack and uthrow ->magic. since it's very different between characters, learn these by weight class and fall speed so you can mostly adjust on the fly. learn grapple cancels off stage for an additional recovery mixup which will greatly increase your stock longevity and remember that grapple is an option for characters who are immediately above you which is usually safe to throw out, but that doing so will probably cause you to lose the advantage state if you miss
  2. also, sneak in bairs when people are approaching you from the air and often you'll be fast enough to just win the exchange. not every time and not every character, but it's a good stuffing move when the timing is right
  3. fair can too, but it's more likely to trade or lose, since its... leg meat, and not a dagger
  4. there's also a small trick that tyroy uses, where he down guns on someones shield into backair, and i have to assume that this pokes, but anyone who is used to down guns on them will be walking away instead of sitting in shield.

  7. arsens basically the only way joker makes big plays, he does normal damage until arsen is out, but really using arsen is just going to depend on how strong your neutral actually is. however, the worst thing that actually happens when arsen is out is you getting hit with arsen, so you can't just play dirty when he's out. make sure you encroach on your opponents space and suffocate it so you guarantee the hit if they refuse to engage. it is particularly hard to do this to characters like sonic, megaman, and game and watch who are not vulnerable after using their emergency escape up-b though, especially when you lose grapple, so just stay calm when they do that and watch and wait for the right moment
