- [17:50] The offer for warlord would be turned down, but Revan was prepared to bare that burden until the next generation was truly ready. A simple grunt would be given in response, and a nod as he accepts the request to remain as the high priestess for a little longer.
- Mentions of Barsburg taking over Theria would tug a frown onto his face, Revan had suspected the imperialists would set their sights on the resource rich mountain. Yet the overlord would never hand it over, not until his last breath.
- As he would debate the possibilities they could take, people would begin to file in for the funeral service. "Ah, I trust your best judgement, Raeliana.. Let us begin moving to the castle, we will be holding the ceremony out there."
- (Revan orn Task)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [17:51] Raeliana says, "Indeed."
- [17:52] Stavros reaches out to give three quick squeezes to her wrist.
- (Stavros)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [17:52] Artemis looks back. The three quick squeezes are swiftly returned. Then she faces the matter at hand with her sunken stare.
- (Artemis Task)

- [17:57] {Item} You drop Cape.
- [17:58] Stavros whispers to Artemis Task: Here for whateva ya need... Jus' tell me.
- [17:58] {Item} You picked up Cape. Dropped by Jameson..
- [17:58] Artemis Task whispers to Stavros: ...I want them all dead.
- [17:58] Artemis Task whispers to Stavros: Every last rotting soul that's not my uncle.
- [17:59] Stavros whispers to Artemis Task: ... It'll be done in time.
- [17:59] Stavros whispers to Artemis Task: Mish 'n' Walter are 'gainst 'em. They were our family too.
- [18:02] After some time preparing the Funeral, the moment had finally come. This at first would only be for Dun Task, but at Raelina's request, Anlaufr organized this to also be the funeral for Valero Task, Hades Task and Pachua, the former Patriarch of the Fireblooded.
- Each body was wrapped in some cloths, resting above a fire pit and with their belongings around them. Apart from Pachua's body, where there was only a red suit in the place to symbolize him. Dun's body was in the center and the rest around him.
- Anlaufr took a deep breath, trying to find the right words and then start to speak, "I appreciate the presence of everyone who is here today, on this sad day in our lives.
- Today we are not just saying goodbye to important figures of Theria.. No. We are saying goodbye to great friends, members of our family! All of them were great warriors during their lives and that in the end had honorable deaths.
- Their deeds will never be forgotten, where tales about such will be told to future generations, being marked in the history of our city!" He finished, lowering his arms.
- His gaze briefly turned to Revan and Raelina, where then he continued, "Revan and Raelina. Would ya two like to say something to those who are here?
- Where as soon as both of ye finish.. Everyone here will be able to make a farewell gesture. Leaving something near the bodies or saying some words of respect." He said, now giving space to them and stepping back.
- Anlaufr had basically gathered everyone there. He was not able save his friend, Dun, but at least he would be making this gesture to say goodbye and soon help with the project for which he gave his life.
- (Anlaufr)

- [18:04] The High Priestess herself had insisted upon the funeral being held for more than just Dun. For while the original Crown Prince of Theria himself had lead them for so long with his advice towards the younger generation, Valero and Hades had in addition made their mark, as well as Pachua. There's a brief moment of hesitation before Raeliana would step forward, amongst the piles of stacked logs ready to be set on fire, to destroy their bodies as the ultimate sacrifice towards Ryujin and Garljing himself.
- "Dun Task held Theria within his grasp shortly after it's founding, and he found himself at it's helm even as the great Dragons from Sluthia themselves set their sights upon the Free City. Yet, even after being burned, he continued to lead - with the Dragon's blessing." She said, eyesight looking between them all. Was it that surprising the High Priestess herself would know of their history?
- "Even in his old age, when his body should have failed him, he continued to push. He pushed for greatness, he pushed for Chaos, he pushed to ensure we'd always remain free. I think he succeeded, personally." She added with a dip of her head.
- "Valero and Hades were akin to him, in that they were never satisfied with simply how things were. They pushed the boundaries on what it meant to be great. Some say they allowed Theria to stagnate - but I personally disagree. Everyone has their own opinion on things, in the end."
- Her hands were hidden within the sleeves of her robes, as she inhaled deeply once more.
- "Pachua Drakos fought his best against those who would have seen Dun Task slain after being poisoned - for he believed it was not the Dragon's way to use poison. He defended his title of Patriarch and took it by force as every Dragon would have understood. It's only now after his death can we truly appreciate his sacrifice. He gave his life for a Theria he believed in, and he died in honor.
- They all died in honor."
- She'd step back, eyes remaining closed.
- (Raeliana)

- [18:22] Finding himself at the front of the service, Revan golden hues would look over each of the pyres that had been erected for the deceased. A youth that had been misguided, two of his own brothers, and his own father that he poisoned. For someone that had a hand in each of their deaths, Revan would show signs of his own grieving.
- Though he stood tall, his expression neutral, his hair was rather shaggy and unkempt, his eyes were sunken and darkened from lack of sleep. He had made his own nightmare a reality, and now he would be standing at their funeral, with the judging eyes of all those around.
- Yet he would still hold those fond memories of each of them, despite the things he felt he had to do, he would find something to say about each of them.
- "Pachua was a good, honorable Fireblooded, his conviction was as strong a warrior as he was.. And I hold a deep respect for him. I.. Already sent him off with my own ethereal flame as I recognized his valor."
- His gaze drifting to Hades, the one who had secretly always been their older brother, and it showed as both Valero and Revan adored Hades with every fiber of their being.
- "I always looked up to you, Hades.. I had my doubts about Valero, as well as myself.. But I always thought that of all of us, you'd be the more successful. You only wished to push humanity forward.. But you lost touch with the people you sought to help."
- A sharp inhale as he would look towards the brother he had originally challenged, his rival since birth. "Valero and I.. Never got along.. Since childhood I blamed him for being the cause of our mother's death, and his redhair was evidence of such.. Yet I think deep down.. I was truthfully jealous that he had gotten something from her.. And I didn't.. But.. It would probably make him happy for me to admit this, but my win loss ratio to him is still one to three.. So I guess I can't ever fix that.. So.. Congrats Valero, you got one last one over me."
- A short huff through his nose as he would try to crack some sort of joke, perhaps hoping that the redhead would sit up to make and start to roast him, anything to stop him from talking.
- Yet.. Nothing..
- "And Finally.. My Father.. The man I thought to be capable of anything when I was a child.. I sought to emulate him in everything he did and was.. Yet.. I simply could never fill those clown shoes of yours, Father.. But.. I promise.. I will take care of Theria, just as you and Rinn had done.. And I will keep those embers you tended for so many years alive."
- Stepping forward, Revan would ignite into his own cyan fire, and just as Dun had sent Rinn off, the Patriarch would do the same for the Father and the children of Theria.
- "If anyone wishes to say any final words, there spirits will linger so long as there is an ember on their pyre."
- (Revan orn Task)

- [18:35] There was nothing Jameson could say. He did not know any of those fallen before him. One by name and that alone.
- While the three before them spoke he remained silent. Eventually dipping his head forward a bit to pay respects to the fallen.
- It was the least he could do. After a few minutes or so of doing this Jameson looked up. Hazel eyes fell upon the lit pyres. Watching as the smoke billowed upward.
- For now he would just watch and remain silent.
- (Jameson)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [18:36] Standing in the back he was listening to the people speak of Valero, Hades, Dun, Pachua. The four of them were important figures for Theria and in the hearts of most people here, at the very least he knew Pachua and seen Dun around a few times but never had the opportunity to speak with the man.
- Even though it wasn't his place, he wasn't family, he wasn't anyone of importance to Theria beyond a young Fireblooded with a desire. Taking a few steps forward he wanted to make a gesture, he wanted to do something that would be meaningful.
- "They say Sinka grows where magi have fought for their lives... but they all fought, they didn't deserve to go... but they did, honorably... May you all find peace in the next chapter..."
- With that he would remove the sinka he had, taking up the red flower and placing it down before the fires. They were warriors, each and every one of them. May they all be remembered for their deeds and desires.
- Once he had finished the young man stepped back toward the group, to stand near the back where he had started.

- [18:36] Arch says, "Put it down;"
- [18:36] Arch says, "Put. It. Down."
- [18:36] Greedy dragon. Greedy dragon.
- She placed it back down with a huff.
- (Raeliana)

- [18:38] Artemis stands there, listening as the orators deliver their words. They are lost on her drooping ears. She is there without raiment, without adornment, without a coat. The year has already taken four souls from her. If the Therian winds wanted to take her warmth too? That's just one less thing she truly has to her name.
- And what a name it was. But now three of its number lie on stacked wooden pyres, and a fourth that was a foster doesn't even have a body to burn, much less weep over.
- Words are said, and even though her heart and spirits are low there is nothing to move her to tears. Those most undignified things have already been shed elsewhere. No one here will have the satisfaction of seeing her break today. Not like that. It is easier and far less shameful to hold onto the cold, ever-present fury that she continues to feel day in and day out.
- Four lost souls to say her words to, though they aren't going to hear her in the great beyond. It's a fantastic exercise in futility in her eyes. Yet she's here out of respect to their memory. They deserve that much. It's Pachua's pyre she approaches first. Her words are kept low, scarcely above a mumble.
- "...You were a fine rival. My greatest regret is never getting to pluck those godforsaken feathers. You wanted me to be better than I was. More than most. For that...you will be missed." Artemis reaches back to her tail, flinches as she plucks a few bits of fur from it, and sets it to the symbolic pyre. She makes the rounds to Valero next. It felt fitting.
- "If you weren't already on fire. I would punch your stupid damn face, I swear. I was going to earn my place, then you had to go and die. This isn't earning. Not like this...but I loved you. And I'll miss you. You giant idiot." She resists the urge to spit on the pyre. Instead she offers a sprig of Sinka. Hades' flame comes next.
- "You at least didn't seem to hate me like Valero did. The smart one. I admired your wit. Your determination. I don't know if I can ever really match it...but I'll try. I love you, brother."
- Then comes the last. The pyre of her father. She pauses and watches the flames lick around his body, listens to the crackle of the flames consume his flesh.
- "You died. Before I could ask you my last questions. The most important ones. Why? Why did you treat us so differently? Why did you give me everything but nothing? Why did you give in?"
- She offers nothing to the pyre of her father. Artemis stares at the center of her palm thoughtfully, then clenches her hand into a tight fist.
- (Artemis Task)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [18:44] Out of all firsts he'd encounter this was one he didn't want to discover for a long, long time. Yet there he was amongst powdered grounds, pyres laying before him with the bodies and belongings of the fallen. Lips remain curled downwards as he listens to the others' parting words.
- Valero wasn't one he fully knew well beyond their dealings, but Dun and Hades? Those were two Tasks he had met... Slightly.
- Trudging forth he'd reach into his suit pocket as he passed Valero's pyre - A sprinkling of yellow dust soon cast within the flames as he made his little route about. One last bit of dust for the road, right?
- Making his path between Hades' and Dun's pyres he'd murmur, "I'll keep my eye on 'er… That 'n' keep makin' strides in alchemy. They won't know what'll hit tha market next, yeh..?"
- Continuing on through to the final pyre he'd pause at the red suit. Pachua. One great worker and friend was mere ashes long before they could settle their work. They had battles to conduct, skirmishes to run - Yet there he stood.
- "... Prolly shoulda seen it comin', Pach. I really shoulda. Ya always were prideful 'n' that's what I loved 'bout'cha. Ain't no'un tell ya ta stand down without a fist in their mouth. So... Jus' keep watchin', yeh?"
- Pausing he'd retrieve a handful of coins before tossing them before the pyre. "Jus'... Save me a drink, yeh?" Falling into a murmur he'd retreat on back to the Hyene's side.
- (Stavros)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [18:44] Sapphire stood in silence listening to each of them speak their words. All the while her eyes lingered on the mound Valero would rest on. Around her the shadows would cling tight to her form as she tried to remember all the advice the man had given her over the years.
- She glanced over towards Revan as the last of his words were spoken. She blinked a few times, gaze returning to the pyre. Was there anything that she had to say? Was there anything she could say?
- The man had helped her grow into what she was today, yet when it came to words to say for him there was nothing but a blank void in her mind. Not even tainted whispers spoke their suggestions, just a deafening silence that threatened to drive her even more mad.
- Her gaze shifted back towards her father for a moment then towards Tonak who had seemed to take a few steps forward to stand in line with the others. Still the Arborea remained silent idly messing with the buttons on her uniform and trying to gather her thoughts.
- The words of others made their way to her, and progressively she felt worse and worse for not speaking in the slightest. Eventually words did manifest though in a faint whisper. "I'm sorry I couldn't do more while you were around ya' bastard...You gave me a chance and I made a promise. I'm gonna make good on it for ya..." She would remove her hat and hold it at her chest watching the pyres.
- (Sapphire Arborea)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [18:45] Tonak would step forward.
- "Greetings all. You know me as Tonak Botcher. Student of Dun Task. Well he was more than just that to me."
- Tonak would grip his fist.
- "Dun Task a man who was many things. Formerly from Osorna and made his way to Theria to be called Task Master. One the best assassins in history. A former Warlord who feared and respected. A teacher of many and a friend of all. Dun Task mentored most of us in ways we could never know. Even with the death of his family he push to keep Theria going even at his age. Dun...Dun...he raised me like I was one of his own. Me and Scarlett. Dun watched over us. Guided us to be the best we can be."
- Tonak eyes flowed with emotion.
- "Dun even with his crazy antics. With his unexpected ways of pushing through life. He always laughed his pain away. Because that's how he did things. That is how he handled life. He always let the show be known for all to expect to be grand. Never once has he failed to entertain."
- "Valero and Hades. What can I say that isn't like most of the Task family. I remember them running up to me screaming about potions and getting that gold anvil. How they antagonize me about getting stronger and making profits. How they did things the way a Task always does. Filled with enjoyment and mistakes. Those boys I see become men. Who I laughed with or yelled at. I...I cant say I ever could see them as truly gone. Because right now they probably making plans on how to take over wherever they are. And I will bet with Willow they have the plan down pact."
- Tears were forming.
- "I didn't know Pachua well like most of you. But dedication to the Fireblood was at the utter most high. If one person earned Garljing's respect it was that man. He worked his ass off. Push to do what was best for the people of Theria. No matter how things looked. Pachua earned his stripes and earn his seat withthe dragon lord. By the way of the flames and the dawning of treasure and power. I hope you rest well Pachua."
- He sit down and look at the ore his master gave him.
- "I maybe not have the Task blood in me. But I fucking love each one of them. Never have they look down upon me. Never have they push me away. They all treated me as a family with open arms. And I can never say no moment with them wasn't special."
- Tonak began to cry.
- "Look at me DUN! YOU LEFT me crying you old geezer! I don't cry! I don't cry for anything! But...you and my boys are gone. Losing them is like...losing my son... Losing you is like losing my own dad. I fucking loved you Dun Task. I loved you more than I loved myself. Because you mad me the man I am! Not my own grandfather. But you. The moment you said you were proud of me. Was the moment I knew...I had meaning in my life. Look at me now Dun. I have meaning...because of you."
- Taking a deep breath he nod his head.
- "I spent so much coin and items to make sure everything you wanted was done. And I never regret it. I do it over again. I look after the little princess and your other son. They need me more than ever. So when my time comes I better get my keep old man."
- He give a thumbs up.
- "GO TEAM!" He say with a smile of redness in his eyes.
- (Tonak Botcher)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [18:46] Revan orn Task says, "GO TEAM"
- [18:46] Anlaufr exclaims, "GO TEAM!"
- [18:46] Stavros whispers to Artemis Task: ... Every last 'un of 'em.
- [18:46] Raeliana asks, "GO TEAM?"
- [18:46] Keyair Viveiros exclaims, "GO TEAM!"
- [18:46] Sapphire Arborea exclaims, "GO TEAM!"
- [18:46] Azar Barak exclaims, "GO TEAM!"
- [18:46] Demios Arborea asks, "Go... team?"
- [18:46] He's there late.
- When is he not?
- The stoic, hulking kitsune comes from the counter-side to the towering castle to the fortress city. In truth - he'd been overconfident. Trusted Valero and Hades to be the type of pair to complement each others' weaknesses to a perfect balance.
- And once more, his overconfidence had been the bane of that which he deemed precious.
- "Rest well, brothers."
- In heavy hearted spirit, the general of the Barsburgian colony swallows his guts. Accompanying him, perhaps one of his most trusted razuka. He may not know, but valuable allies rest buried six feet under the cold coating of frost. Each and every one of their burial sites, regarded with a pensive glance.
- Pachua and Dun's resting places, offered a spare moment's worth of silence.
- All of that frustration, sulking him. For a spare second, Walter wished the same fate to have been departedonto him, too.
- Their guardian. Their older brother. Their mentor. Had he failed them in older age? Not seen them grow ripe?
- "Revan." Dismal in its baritonal chant, the newcomer kitsune faces the wayward Task with a stare that could melt the blizzarding layer of the mountain on its own.
- "You forgot to dig one grave."
- Yahoel, the mechanical angel, primes with the full radiant gleam of the spirit of avarice. The blade lifts, absolutely ruining their upbeat chant in their honor.
- "Yours."
- Walter
- (Walter pyr Docro)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [18:48] Artemis Task whispers to Stavros: ...Oh sweet Gods.
- [18:48] The array of emotions held by those around him were almost palpable, all of them, in some regard, had some for of connection to the deceased. All four of them worthy of the respect given, all of them having achieved and committed much, both to Theria, the people here and Esshar as a whole. As is always the case when people of renown expire, the world would change, for the better or worse, was yet to be determined.
- For Demios, the death of Dun was yet another sting, another of the old guard gone.
- 'So few...'
- He'd already held his moment of sorrow, his pressense here was one of rememberance, celebration of the lives lived, achievements accomplished and more personally, to be there for his daughter, whose pain was far closer to the bone than his own.
- Tonak's words brought a slight smile to his face, but before that could settle in, Walter stepped up, the inevitable approaches.
- (Demios Arborea)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [18:48] Stavros whispers to Artemis Task: I swear--
- [18:48] Artemis Task whispers to Stavros: ...Is...
- [18:48] Once? Arch lay beaten, and bruised at the feet of a great tiger demon. Entirely at the beast's mercy, and yet... When given a chance to state his case for life, the Cowboy had opted to leave his fate in the hands of a demon.
- And yet? Who spoke up during the Cowpoke's darkest hour? But the brothers. Hades and Valero.
- A step toward the pyres of both fallen brothers were taken; before a weary sigh slipped his lips.
- "Valero. Hades. I can faintly remember a time when you were a pair of rambunctious and occasionally irritatin' children-... ran amok in Theria like it was your playground..." Practically was. "Bullyin' and scamming the other children." Arch could definitely remember Hades attempting to peddle drugs to the old cowboy..
- "Went from takin' care of you two, to watchin' you both grow and strive to be somethin' Greater-... Even saved my life." A debt that couldn't be repaid now. "Loved the two of you like my own family." They practically were.
- As was Dun-... The man who helped him grow and prosper. But his death was always inevitable.
- Words lingered on Arch's mind.
- "Giving in is a fate worse than death. There is always another path to travel"
- Well! Then the Hulking kitsune barreled onto the scene.
- Yep.
- (Arch)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [18:48] Stavros whispers to Artemis Task: ... Yeh, he's goin' for it.
- [18:49] Artemis Task whispers to Stavros: ...While I am absolutely ecstatic...
- [18:49] Artemis Task whispers to Stavros: ...A part of me wanted to tear into him my damned self.
- [18:49] Stavros whispers to Artemis Task: There's a time... 'n' a place. I wanted that too.
- [18:50] Artemis Task whispers to Stavros: I am concerned, too...That he is here to take the mountain. For Barsburg.
- [18:51] Stavros whispers to Artemis Task: ... Think he's jus' 'ere for revenge. Even then afta that... S'not a good feelin'.
- [18:51] Artemis Task whispers to Stavros: Damnit...I wanted his head to be -mine-...
- [18:51] Trik was following behind Walter on the way to Theria! A mining trip already ruined, the small Razuka just skulked behind the grim overlord of Osrona. A leader to his men and the one that seemed to keep Osrona from exploding into ultra-violence, Trik was hard pressed to say no when asked.
- So, he followed, not knowing why until they came across the funeral. A funeral for three men of the Task bloodline. The elder Dun who Trik only heard legends of his skill as a silent blade, Valero who Trik met once or twice, and the young Pachua, who was always hanging around the Razuka.
- How time flew. How things changed.
- He could hear the words of mourning, of how all those around were affected by the departed. Not knowing what to do, the rock of blue mercury was pulled to be placed upon the pyre of Pachua's.
- Or would have until Walter stepped up.
- Oh. OH NO.
- The Razuka gurgled and choked on his own words as he twitched. Clothes wrecked by the fights against explosion and plasma, he was not a happy looking rat. And now? Violence.
- Ultra-Violence.
- The skulking Razuka remained behind his leader, a hunched and short being that seemed ready to spring into action against those that might interfere. Even if it was perpetually a bad idea.
- (Trik Gutterrunner)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [18:56] Not a moment.
- Not a single. FUCKING. MOMENT.
- Could Revan find reprieve, for tormented dreams and overworked waking hours. Ever since the War of the Last Laugh had been called. Yet now it seemed even at his family's funeral, he would have a challenger.
- "Fine, let's get this over, but Theria will never be owned by a coghead like you."
- This was no honor duel, it was simply a grudge match.
- "And jokes on you, we don't dig graves, we burn our bodies."
- (Revan orn Task)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [18:56] The High Priestess should have seen it coming, admittedly, with the presence of the Barsburg General. Yet, she still could not help the slow forming frown to take it's place upon her visage. There's a lingering stare offered towards the Kitsune who had dared to challenge Revan here and now before her gaze shifted to the seeming Overlord of Theria.
- "This is unfortunate." She muttered softly. Eyelashes fluttered and the Drakanite would pull away from the single remaining Task brother - for this was his fight, not her own. Yet, even as she pulled away Raeliana's frown soon shifted upside down - into a wry smile.
- "Everyone else back up - for this is their fight and no other." The High Priestess declared. Just as it ought to be. "No one can interfere." She said it solemnly, as even that smile of hers faded.
- If Revan perished here she'd be the only one left wouldn't she? She wasn't prepared for it, she knew it. Yet she'd just have to see which way the storm shifted.
- Her gaze lingered upon Revan's form, waiting to see if he'd actually step up to such daring words from the Kitsune General.
- (Raeliana)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [18:56] Shiro whispers something.
- [18:56] Trik quietly puts the ore next to the body as he scurries to the crowd, twitchy as ever.
- (Trik Gutterrunner)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [18:57] Anlaufr kept his head down and his hands behind his back. His attention kept changing, as more people began to speak, saying their goodbyes and making their gestures of respect for the dead.
- It was really a beautiful thing to see, how united a city could be.. But only in a sad moment like that.
- However, this moment was short-lived, since with the arrival of Walter, a well-known figure, An expected some appropriate words since that man was a friend of Dun. But no, what they received was a threat to the current Overlord, Revan.
- With a snap of his tongue, An would lift his head and look in the direction of the Kitsune. Fists already clenched and flames starting to envelop the man, "You know, I thought today could be a calm day, without problems. Because we have already suffered too many tragedies, but as always this is not the case.
- I will not allow silly disputes to spoil a goodbye moment for our friends. Where I don't care who you are, nothing gives you that right." He took a few steps forward, clearly with a serious look on his face.
- (Anlaufr)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [18:57] Raeliana says, "Anlaufr."
- [18:57] Artemis had wanted this satisfaction for herself. Her jaw clenches, she can already feel that tar-like bubbling in her belly again.
- Her satisfaction is going to be taken away. Again. She was denied socking Valero in his face, she was denied plucking Pachua's feathers.
- ...But the Imperator stood a better chance than her. Artemis knows this. And she hates it. So very deeply.
- The beastkin steps aside and out of the way, casting a glance at Stavros.
- (Artemis Task)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [18:57] Raeliana says, "You will stand down."
- [18:57] Keyair Viveiros says, "..."
- [18:58] Raeliana says, "Revan has accepted the challenge. It's his right to go toe to toe with him."
- [18:58] Anlaufr says, "..."
- [18:58] Arch says, "... Can I just say. Fuck honor."
- [18:58] Raeliana asks, "Would you besmirch his honor?"
- [18:58] Arch says, "That is all."
- [18:58] Athanoti Mälenköch says, "True that Arch."
- [18:58] Artemis gives a slight nod in Arch's direction. But says nothing.
- (Artemis Task)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [18:58] Anlaufr says, "Very well."
- [18:58] The sassiness is contested by his own ongrowing temperament. Walter is not sound of mind, that severity can only be transgressed by his own growing cholera.
- "Burn, you say." The purple gleam grows, unsheathing an inferno. Had Walter not sold Osrona to Barsburg, whom he had pacted with, he could've been a sigil of the fireblooded on his own right.
- That ship had sailed.
- Walter speaks through a tight jaw.
- "I'll keep it in mind!" That mana-sapping helscape rages on. The general's blade sways, unleashing it in the wayward Task's direction.
- His ship had sailed, too.
- (Walter pyr Docro)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [18:59] Trik keeps his hands on the hilts of his blades.
- (Trik Gutterrunner)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [19:01] There came his own grinding of his teeth, clear as day. Whilst he knew of the ties the Kitsune had he still wanted a shot himself. Chewing, now, idly on his cheek he'd begin to trail after Artemis.
- Stewing away in his inability to claim his own little fight for now. Forever possibly given the Docro's power.
- Annoyance, such a strange thing to feel in his usual vibes. Fists clench as he continued on through the funeral's possible fifth death to its count.
- (Stavros)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [19:02] Walter pyr Docro asks, "You fight like your father. Was betraying him any fun?"
- [19:06] Artemis Task whispers to Stavros: ...This does not look good for your Imperator.
- [19:06] Stavros whispers to Artemis Task: Can't have 'un fuckin' day...
- [19:07] Artemis Task whispers to Stavros: No...No. We can't.
- [19:07] Stavros whispers to Artemis Task: ... This is why we're takin' ova Esshar.
- [19:07] Artemis Task whispers to Stavros: Can you be more specific?...
- [19:07] Stavros whispers to Artemis Task: I want ta have 'un day when I ain't gotta watch this kinda shit. 'parently s'not possible.
- [19:08] There's a look paid to Arch.
- (Raeliana)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [19:11] Arch.exe has broke.
- (Arch)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [19:12] Artemis dies. But only internally. Not externally, like literally every other Task.
- (Artemis Task)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [19:26] Astrid says, "back off you >:c"
- [19:29] Stavros whispers to Artemis Task: Or at least... Days I ain't gotta see targets gettin' picked off 'fore me. Empty victories.
- [19:30] Artemis Task whispers to Stavros: ...Mnn...
- [19:30] Artemis Task whispers to Stavros: That one. I can agree on.
- [19:30] Stavros whispers to Artemis Task: Think s'what I meant. I... My head's jumbled right now.
- [19:30] Artemis Task whispers to Stavros: Makes two of us...
- [19:33] That infernal blade cuts through flora with fury, unforgiving in every stroke and torque of Walter's metal-coated deft arm. Mana, sapped from their coiling twines at a choleric rate, subsequently drains Revan of his magic pool.
- Yet, when Walter's own coup de grace is bound to come, the foregone, vengeful Task redirects their course to strain the Barsburgian noble's own cycle of energy.
- And the flow of magical prominence becomes bizarre in their feedback effect.
- One, given the power to feast and rob all of that which is ethereal through his never quenched thirst, Walter. The other, a being of control, who's educated himself to mastery in bending the course of soul and ether alike, Revan.
- In a way, he's a perfect match against one like the General, whose interminable source of power wreaks havoc within the blink of an eye wherever he chooses to evoke his imperious prominence.
- If his timing and concentration are correct, the full gleam of his powers can be turned back onto his notably more exposed visage.
- Yet - what was the gundog emperor, if not a towering archive of experience? Wasn't he acquainted enough with faint-attacking, timing one's guard? A kingdom made on deception, his own. It translates well into his fighting style, for it is just as nonchalantly brutish as it is cunning.
- "You were bound by blood, you fucking disgrace." And thus, a parasitic cleave finally immobilizes his shoulder. Revan's defense succumbs to disintegration magic.
- "And here you are, burning their remains, after ruining everything they stood for."
- In a way, Walter was more family to them than he ever could.
- A second swirling torque clashes down with abysmally overwhelming force, penetrating his chest plate - stabbing the surface of his chest with the outer rim edge of Yahoel.
- "You don't deserve to wear their surname again, Revan. You don't even deserve to stand breathing!"
- All of that frustration coalesces into the gundog berserker's mechanical engine, concentrating at his weapon's edge. And thus, Walter puts additional force onto his strike, carving deeper, breaking apart bone and flesh alike, reaching Revan's innards without mercy or any semblance of self control.
- A curtain of mist gathers around them. Snow in their vicinity explicably melts and evaporates, coating them both in a veil. One that compromises both the victor and loser's vision.
- Ichor spills by the gallon, all that Walter cares to distinguish.
- No one could survive a strike of that size and proportion, but the kitsune makes no effort to confirm the kill. Revan is left crumbled, face up. Walter turns naught to look back at him.
- His rage has met its threshold. His whimsical impulse, heeded to in full.
- And soundness returns.
- The figure of the rapidly heaving, bloodied general escapes the boiling mist cloud. Revan is not there to be seen.
- "..."
- And though he breathes, his time may run short.
- (Walter pyr Docro)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [19:36] It was something else to see the Imperator turned General of Osrona fight. To see so much power slung about. Even if Revan was a capable fighter, Trik wasn't sure if it was enough. Walter had a monstrous quality to his capability of violence. Much like Misha. Much like Anira.
- Of course, victory seemed inevitable. Walter was a man of anger over the loss of the Task family members that he cared for. Why would he not take it out on the killer of them?
- But after today? Trik was tired. He wanted to sleep. It was a stressful day and now it looked like it was about to be a scene of death. A blood bath at the funeral. The Razuka could not handle this right now. His body twitched and convulsed. His expressions twisted in the various emotions he felt.
- No, he could not let this end in more death. It would only make a new enemy of Theria. Another place to turn a hateful gaze to Osrona. While Trik would have relished at the thought of grabbing someone to perform his foul experiments on...
- He was not a stupid rat. He was paranoid. He was a coward. He was a vile wretch that only showed bravery with numbers behind him. His voice was weak as he clenched his eyes shut, fearing what might come from speaking.
- "General-lord... Stop-stop. This... This will not help-aid Osrona-city. Will only make-make enemies to hate-hate, give more fuel-aid to noble-bloods.
- Trik… Trik think General-lord should show-give mercy. To make-force man-thing to kneel to Osrona-city. Make ally-friend... of Osrona-city."
- How times have changed from the gleeful taste for violence Trik had. When he cheered or screamed for the blood of those that opposed Walter. But in the end...
- Trik was a coward. He was scared of what would happen if Osrona was beset from all sides. What they would do without allies, much like the failed assault of the demons. There was no altruistic words, but the voice of a frightful rat, thinking of himself and his Family.
- (Trik Gutterrunner)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [19:36] Trik still has his eyes shut and is clearly, too slow.
- (Trik Gutterrunner)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [19:39] Her gaze wandered from Arch at the conclusion of the fight itself; perhaps this was karma in a way, for Valero's own misdeeds.
- For his sins.
- Raeliana gazed forth, stoic and solid the entire time now, even as at her side Arch admitted he didn't know how to take it. Neither did she, but she'd wing it through and through. Yet, so soon after she had been offered a spot as a Dragonlord and she had turned it down it seemed Theria's leadership fell into her own hands.
- Raeliana stepped forward, tentatively, unsure of what she'd do or say. It's only as the General himself exists that reddened mist does she gesture to it, indicating for one of the Fireblooded to check upon the condition of their Overlord. Revan was obscured, and so she couldn't quite tell on her own. But her gaze finally fell upon Walter quietly, judging him and his stance within Theria in that moment.
- "... You should leave, General Docro." She said, surprisingly calm. A clawed hand motioned south, down the mountain itself. "Fireblooded, check on your Overlord - if he lives, we'll need a medic." There's a pause, as her gaze shifted to that red mist.
- "... If he's dead we'll decide what to do from there."
- (Raeliana)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [19:42] Urist Silverbane says, "Y'know. This were surprisin'ly appropriate."
- [19:42] Urist Silverbane says, "Th'last laugh, S'it were."
- [19:46] Tonak would look at the situation.
- "I wonder what you think of this old man?"
- He say seeing as Walter let his nephew live. At that moment Tonak saw a piece of Willow linger in Walter. Strange.
- Though he look on to see how things kept going.
- (Tonak Botcher)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [19:46] The hooded boy had witnessed too much. From what turned to be a funeral his father was hosting has now turned into another merciless fight. This time it was Shiro's father, Revan, that took the fall. Not knowing what was going on within the heavy mist. Shiro's chest was beating, and his mind was going all loose again.
- My enemies are the ones that hurt my family... I will.. kill you..
- Screeching noise in his head as his world was turning upside down. He took one good look at Walter to make sure to never forget how he looks. Revan lied over by snow heavily injured, the boy not even knowing if he was still alive. There was too many people around and it was probably going to be impossible for his son to get close without someone trying something.
- "I'm sorry dad..."
- He said in a soft voice before turning around and walking off.
- (Shiro)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:02] Revan had operated on Valero by the kistunes side, there was much that the Tasks learned from Walter over the years even if this one never interacted with him more than the one off occasion. However, where Revan was absent after Dun set them free at the age of thirteen, it seemed Walter would take his place.
- So it was only fitting that at the Task Family Funeral that Valero's true bigger brother makes his appearance. There isn't a moment of hesitation as the two warriors collide with one another.
- Turning the terrain into an ally, it would be short lived as the general would sweep his legendary blade across the field, leaving little in it's wake as it consumed and destroyed all it touched. Though the brawling son of Dun was fast, and just nimble enough to keep such a weapon from connecting too solidly with him.
- He could see the flow of mana from the raging kitsune, the overwhelming force that would rush towards him like a wave. Falling just back as the power would wane, it as Revan's opportunity to turn it against him. Bone shatter might would be directed as the Overlord's saving grace.
- You don't deserve to wear their surname again.
- "Take it up with the old ma-"
- He didn't even get to finish his sentence, how he thought he would try to carry the Apotychia name and redefine what failure was.. But for some reason that he would never know, one of his father's final acts was to reclaim him as a Task.
- The edge ripping through nyeshk and flesh as if it were paper, blood painting the ground as if snow was always meant to be red. Golden hues would grow wide as the light in them would grow dim. He could even gasp for air as his chest was left open.
- There would be an attempt to look down as the crimson liquid poured from his body, but as his eyes fell, so to did the rest of him. Was this truly how it was to end, dead with the rest of his kin as his body was left bleeding amongst their burning bodies?
- Was he truly a failure for never being able to complete their father's gauntlet? Or that without warning, he would suddenly be snuffed out with no warning given to his wife or kids?
- Gritting his teeth as the pain would consume him, he would be prepared for the fiery embrace that would wash over him.. But never did it come, all he felt was a chill creeping over him, and even though he couldn't breathe or even move, there was one thing he could focus on.
- Thump. Don't give up. Thump. Keep fighting.
- (Revan orn Task)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:05] Standing by he watched as the two fought in this grizzly battle, he could tell just how powerful they both were by the way they blasted one another back and forth. The display of power was something he had never had the chance to see before.
- Yet even though as they battled he prayed with all of his might that Revan could win, that this man would have the chance to overcome this battle... Even as he managed to deflect the abilities, blasting them back upon Walter... it just wasn't enough.
- They were nearly as strong as one another, but in the end, Walter proved himself to be stronger. He beat down Revan until he was a crumpled mess, tears streamed down his face as he watched the one person who had known his name before having a chance to meet was down and seemingly out.
- Upon hearing that they should check on him... the young human would slowly walk forward looking down upon the body of his Overlord... The gruesome state that he was in was so terrible, his heart was boiling in fire and anger to see the result of it all... but upon looking down at the body... that rage slipped away into nothing, Revan was alive!
- "He's dead..." within his voice was the last remaining sadness he could muster, turning toward Raeliana he would wink out of his left eye "Sinka grows where two magi battle for their lives. May he go off into the next chapter." placing the sinka down upon his body he looked around seriously hoping somebody would understand that this dude was alive and he didn't want to shout it to the world.
- "We should move his body and prepare him for a funeral..." he looked desperate, with the person who nearly killed him right close by here, he wanted to lie so they could get him up out of here.
- (Azar Barak)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:05] Artemis watches the fray, externally cold and impassive if irritable for one reason or another. The melee ends, her brother's chest flayed open.
- As he lies there, bleeding, she doesn't so much as move to lift a finger to help. Instead she watches, observes, as the snow is stained red with his blood.
- She watches, too, to see who lends her dear sibling a hand.
- The scene gives her some solace. Only some. Never enough.
- (Artemis Task)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:08] Urist simply watched. Though Dun had claimed some joy for himself at the end, some satisfaction from his fight with the Nethradin Crowley, the Miner had not forgotten those moments of misery on the Elder's face, as they had passed the shades of Revan's brothers freshly damned to Helheim.
- Revan had discovered the truth of the sword it seemed. What it can grant, it can also take. How strong you are is irrelevant. Only that you are the strongest.....
- Or you aren't.
- (Urist Silverbane)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:08] Duels of honor must be respected. However, in this situation, in a moment of farewell, there is no honor in challenging a person.. But Revan had accepted and for this An would respect his wish.
- By the end of the fight, Revan was on the ground. Defeated by Walter.. Probably dead. And Walter went away!
- The man quickly ran over to where Revan was, checking on him.. To see if he was alive. Where the answer was: not dead.. yet! He was dying. He needed a doctor and fast, where thanks to Ryujin there were two on site!
- "Demios, Tonak! Come, we need yer medical help here! NOW." He shouted, pointing at Revan.
- Anlaufr was not a doctor, so he couldn't say exactly if Revan would live or not. But he expected his tutor to live, many had already died, he should not lose his life now.
- (Anlaufr)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:09] A bloody, vicious battle took part in a ceremony to the dead. Were it not for the oppressive heat from the Imperator he might just say the rising mist from the rapidly evaporating snow was a fog from the Spirit Realm. Yet he knew that wasn't true.
- Not when flames hotter than a Summer's day were scathing the grounds.
- Stavros still remained amongst the sidelines as cleave by kick crashed against one another. There was a beat amongst the fight, surely, but he couldn't exactly find full joy within it. From behind the Razuka his tail flicked to and fro as he caught that bloodlust-filled beat... Yet he couldn't dance to it. No rush of dopamine hit his veins.
- Sienna beads stare down upon the haze that surrounded Revan's form. Crimson - How fitting that it could've been him. Button-esque features crunch and contort as he soaks in the hollow victory.
- (Stavros)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:09] Stavros whispers to Artemis Task: ... If he somehow lives through this we get this done. We're trainin' regardless. I want... Ta make disguises tanight.
- [20:10] Artemis Task whispers to Stavros: ...It will be done.
- [20:11] Stavros whispers to Artemis Task: Unless ya want some time ta jus'... Breathe.
- [20:11] Artemis Task whispers to Stavros: Time to drown myself in drink, maybe...
- [20:11] Lilith would only be running up to Theria to go check up on Revan. Wondering if the funeral service that he was hosting had ended. All so they could talk, relax, and enjoy themselves for a little while before the serious talk had to begin.
- Though, coming up the mountain she would see another man fighting Revan. Slashing at him, and seeing him drop dead right in front of her eyes. Was this it? Was this really the last moment that she was going to see her Husband? All she wanted was a single moment, a single moment of peace with him.
- And even that wouldn't be given to her
- Only kneeling on the snow, she would look down on the ground. Heart starting to race and head starting to go dizzy. The Occult poison that plagued her veins would continue to whisper to her more and more. Screaming at her, shouting at her.
- This was the end for Revan...
- How can one survive from that... She had no hope, no light, and no more peace left in her. First the guild, her Sister, her home, and now her husband would be taken... And she was never able to tell him how much she truly loved him.
- It broke her
- (Lilith Hellaxis)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:11] Stavros whispers to Artemis Task: Then yeh... We'll do that. Think we both deserve it.
- [20:12] Artemis Task whispers to Stavros: Look at them...Look at how all these things, these little sheep, weep over him...
- [20:13] Artemis Task whispers to Stavros: As if he weren't a traitor.
- [20:13] Artemis Task whispers to Stavros: As if he -didn't- kill so many.
- [20:14] Stavros whispers to Artemis Task: ... They ain't worth tha time.
- [20:15] Stavros whispers to Artemis Task: None of 'em have been. If they're willin' ta jus' let that shit slide then they ain't worth it.
- [20:15] The battle between the two was beyond intense, the shifting of energies around the battlefield causing disturbances not just in the landscape, but also along the threads of time. The result of this would hold rammifications for years to come.
- The conclusion, the collosal General landing the decisive blow, almost rending Revan in two. There was a pause and suprisingly the victor stepped away, not even taking the time to ensure their prey was truely dispatched. Demios took a deep breath, the mist obscuring visions, but he didn't need sight to see within it, his mana had been pulsing through the area, observing from below.
- As Walter stepped further away, Demios snapped his fingers, a shimmer of temporal energies engulfing Revan, time paused in that agonizing moment, stalling his death. Demios, a neutral entity, unwilling to simply let his friend expire, besides, if Walter truely wanted Revan dead, he would have made sure he was.
- Anlaufr called out to him, approaching Revan, held in stasis, Demios' burnt orange hues blazing, as his magics worked to preserve him.
- "We need to get him inside..." His almost a whisper as his focus was maintained on Revan's preservation. The lingering effects of Walter's consumption pervaded Revan's form, vastly inhibiting Demios' temporal magics, unable to heal him with a snap, actual surgery would be required.
- (Demios Arborea)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:15] Artemis Task whispers to Stavros: I hate it...
- [20:15] Artemis Task whispers to Stavros: Stavros. I hate it so fucking much.
- [20:15] Stavros whispers to Artemis Task: Not 'un of 'em are pointin' a blade, knockin' an arrow, or... What have ya. None of 'em do anythin'.
- [20:17] There it is. That anger again. As more faces move to surround the injured Overlord, the sensation grows. And grows. So many faces moving to his aid.
- She remains motionless. Yet each and every face is tallied.
- One. By. One.
- (Artemis Task)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:17] "Let them gather around him..." The militarized colonist bellows in exhaustion, recomposing his posture from its nigh-beastly self, in response to Trik's own pleas for mercy and diplomatic tact. Walter was no man capable of such traits, at this height of his life and growth.
- "He killed my family. For him alone to pay back with his life, and not the whole girth of his lineage, is more than a bargain."
- Walter is a taker, not a beggar, not a forgiver.
- The naturally jade stare of the general morphs, greeting a scowl, and shooting towards the thunder drakanite. She's stared down with dolor, with gut wrenching, overbearing cholera. It translates into a vibrant purple that looms in the combustionist's glare.
- "So be it."
- It cries out in cherubian spirit. So human, yet so unearthly at the same time.
- A gleam that screams out: You cannot phase me.
- "Stavros..." In his husky, blown-out tessitura. "Trik, Sapphire." The Authoity present is called out. Summoned.
- "We're leaving."
- (Walter pyr Docro)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:17] Stavros whispers to Artemis Task: ... Comin' back with me?
- [20:17] Artemis Task whispers to Stavros: ...I'll follow soon. Alright?
- [20:18] Curiosity drew him towards the crowd of people apparently preparing a funeral service. The bodies of the past overlord, Valero and his brother Hades laid being cremated. His attention quickly turned to the new people interrupting the service. The challenger named Walter came for Revan.
- He's barely gotten sleep from his last fight and now he's been challenged to another.
- Another battle David was sidelined from. Without much he could do within his power, he watched as the two clashed in another bloodied bout. His eyes could barely follow the action in front of him. So much was going on that it took more time to process what was going on than just watching it mindlessly waiting for it to conclude.
- Revan had possibly seen his last fight as the man named Walter's large sword finally connected. The high swing cut through Revan flesh and bone leaving him almost gutted. His life force must be almost drained from him right now.
- David ran to Lilith who was at Revan's side. He wasn't sure how to act but he felt he needed to be there.
- (David Kaneko)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:18] Stavros whispers to Artemis Task: Take ya time sayin' ya goodbyes here... Jus' promise me ya will be back 'fore we both turn in.
- [20:19] Artemis Task whispers to Stavros: As soon as you leave...I am like to follow behind.
- [20:19] Stavros whispers to Artemis Task: Alright, 'gain... Take ya time. I'll get drinks ready.
- [20:19] Artemis Task whispers to Stavros: Thank you...
- [20:19] As the others gather around Revan's form to assist him, Raeliana did not move an inch. Her gaze was stuck upon the General's own, before a small smile tugged the edges of her lips upwards silently.
- A clawed hand rose upwards, fingers wiggling in a wave.
- "Toodles." She bid, allowing those from Osrona to depart. She made no move to attack them, and yet no move to assist Revan either. He had accepted the fight.
- (Raeliana)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:19] Urist Silverbane whispers to Artemis Task: Y'are Artemis, aye?
- [20:19] Stavros whispers to Artemis Task: Anythin' for ya... I love ya.
- [20:20] Walter pyr Docro says, "..."
- [20:21] Trik shrunk back at the imposing stature of Walter. The Razuka soon just following in line. He knew not if Revan was dead but it mattered not. Walter went in with the force to kill and butcher. To force a fight that could not be denied. The details were irrelevant after, the result the same either way.
- The gaze of the Razuka fell to the snowy ground as he went back to his usual skulking posture. To remain a shadow of Walter. No one else seemed to be making the move to assault Walter, so his efforts were likely not needed.
- The stressed rat just tried to control his breathing, make the twitching less apparent and the convulsions subside. His heart pounded and his brow was dripping sweat.
- What a stressful day!
- (Trik Gutterrunner)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:21] Shuffling the rifle-strap upon his frame he'd reach out to give three squeezes to the Hyene's wrist. Those sienna beads don't leave the gathering crowd about Revan however.
- Adopting a soft hum he'd soon trail forth to join his Imperator. It was time to skedaddle.
- (Stavros)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:21] The white haired woman would watch the events as they would unfold eyes following the battle and the aftermath with muted emotion. The shadows continued to stir around her as it went on and as Revan was left a bloody mess so many seemed to rush to his side. Sapphire had instinctively taken a few half-steps forward in the same direction as her father though her movements were stopped as she remembered her place glancing to the General to see if there would be any orders given.
- Sure enough her name was called and thus the drakanite would move without question over by the imposing figure that was General Docro. There was no words needed to be exchanged, she simply fell in with the others.
- Time to get going.
- (Sapphire Arborea)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:23] Artemis Task whispers to Urist Silverbane: ...Is that a joke?
- [20:23] Probably with the help of Demios and others, Anlaufr would begin to lift Revan carefully, in order to carry him into the castle. It was the closest structure, which could provide a suitable place for the treatment.
- "Carefully.. Let's take him to an bed." He commented carrying his tutor.
- Whenever he found a suitable place, he would put Revan there so that Demios could take care of him! And then he would stay by the side during the process.
- For now, apparently Revan would live another day. Thanks to Ryujin.
- (Anlaufr)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:23] Urist Silverbane whispers: It isnae a joke.
- [20:23] Corporal or not, Arch opted not to depart with the others-- technically had his Captain's authorization. No, the once-courier would stay for a while-..
- That and he couldn't help but crack a faint grin at Raeliana's little display.
- A gaze toward Revan was given. Kinslaying deserved such violentretribution; but the price was paid.
- (Arch)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:23] Artemis Task whispers to Urist Silverbane: ...Yes. That is I.
- [20:23] Artemis Task whispers to Urist Silverbane: What do you want?
- [20:24] Raeliana says, "....."
- [20:24] Raeliana exclaims, "Good, they left!"
- [20:24] Azar Barak says, "He's alive, I lied."
- [20:24] Urist Silverbane says, "Fer yeh T'come wit' me."
- [20:24] Arch says, "We know."
- [20:24] Artemis Task says, "We are aware."
- [20:24] Revan hacks up blood.
- (Revan orn Task)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:25] Artemis Task asks, "...Make it swift. What do you -want-?"
- [20:25] Urist Silverbane says, "I've a gift frae Dun Task."
- [20:25] Urist Silverbane says, "T'grant yeh."
- [20:25] Artemis Task says, "..."
- [20:25] Urist Silverbane says, "N'I wouldnae grant it infront O'Revan."
- [20:25] Artemis goes quiet. She continues following behind, giving him a gentle nod.
- (Artemis Task)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:30] Urist would enter into the Minehead, and head over to one side of the mine... Reaching out with his spirit, the stone would part, and open into a small hollow in the rock.
- A hollow which would contain a familiar set of armor and robe. "Dun were wearin' this when 'e died. S'been cleaned N'Repaired as best I could. Though given H'died O'heart failure T'werenae too badly Damaged."
- Reaching into the hole he would pull each piece out and lay them out for her. The old man's expertly crafted Nyeshk armor a marvel of hand made workmanship. And the rumpled robe of red, that still smelled of a half a dozen realms and half a dozen battles.
- "T'is a meager inheritance, but I suspect Y'will have use O'it."
- (Urist Silverbane)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:33] {Item} You drop Poppylus x1.
- [20:33] {Item} You drop Torch.
- [20:34] {Item} You picked up Black Plate Of The Realm Walker. Dropped by Urist Silverbane..
- [20:34] {Item} You picked up Black Greaves Of The Realm Walker. Dropped by Urist Silverbane..
- [20:34] {Item} You drop Glowing Mushroom x3.
- [20:34] {Item} You picked up Priestly Robes - Red. Dropped by Urist Silverbane..
- [20:35] Once her father's name is mentioned, Artemis balks no further at Urist's insistence to follow. She watches, with muted wonder, as the hardy miner seemingly parts the stone with will and will alone.
- There's a quiet reverence from her, her head bowed, as she accepts the armor. It's familiar in look, but the weight of it foreign in her hands. The robes, too.
- "...Do you know if he suffered? At his last?" she asks softly, her ears drooped.
- (Artemis Task)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:40] "At the last? No, Th'old man died laughing and jokin' with the Very bein' what killed him. N'took the creature with him T'boot." Shaking his head, Urist would frown, gaze turning towards the mouth of the cave. And when Urist spoke again it was not with the quiet reserve of a man carrying out a favor for a departed friend. There was malice in his words, unguarded and undisguised.
- "No, it werenae his final moments that pained him. T'was seein' Hades n'Valero on the other side, Sufferin' that pained him. We went T'Helheim, N'they were both there. Freshly arrived."
- (Urist Silverbane)

- [20:41] For a moment there's blessed relief. Her father, ailing in his last years, found peace in his end. It was some solace.
- Solace that Urist very quickly and capably dashes against the rocks. And here she'd been thinking her death could get no worse than it already had. Hel, her the year at large has been one thing after another.
- "And...are they still?" she asks. Her eyes lift, searching his face.
- (Artemis Task)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:48] If she was expecting Urist to say they had been rescued, she had unfortunately asked the wrong dwarf. "Aye. Though W'destroyed most O'the greater being's in the Area, N'Specifically the one what was threatenin' 'em. So th'will at least have a fair chance rather than bein' consumed newly passed. Th'will grow in strength N'continue Th'adventures N'another realm." Admittedly that realm was the hellish occult landscape of the underworld. But that was hardly
- Sighing, "T'is Y'choices in life that take Y'to where Y'end up. Th'lesson O'Theria, O'Dun was that Y'should Make what choice Y'want. Rather'n be constrained. Valero N'Hades road took them T'Helheim." Though the dwarf would shake his head, letting out a dry chuckle. "Who knows. W'did kill Th'lord O'the spirits there. Perhaps Th'pair O'em will end up rulers O'a kingdom N'the Afterlife?"
- (Urist Silverbane)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:52] He doesn't necessarily sugarcoat it. But it's a slight better than hearing her brothers are suffering, eternally tortured. There's dry, strained, almost cackling laughter from her.
- "...I can picture it. Knowing those two. Maybe."
- More silence. Her fingers trace over the old, battle worn robes.
- "Thank you. For this. I will keep it safe. Revan will have to pry it from my cold, dead hands if he wants it."
- (Artemis Task)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:55] The miner would just nod, the whole closing up to hide the hollow once again "Dun 'as been a friend T'me fer Twenty Five years. Since I were just a boy minin' ore T'pay fer alcohol."
- Giving one final shrug, Urist would just grin, "It's nae trouble T'all T'do him a good turn frae one O'the many H'did me."
- (Urist Silverbane)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:57] Artemis admires the pieces longer before stowing them away. They could be examined, truly appreciated later. Maybe while she drank. Maybe while she also continued to mourn the loss of practically everything she knew.
- "Then I'd like to not only thank you for this...but for being a friend to my father.
- If there is ever anything I can see done for you. You've only to ask. Though I can't say with any certainty how much I will be...about the city."
- (Artemis Task)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [20:58] Urist Silverbane says, "It's nae any trouble. I'll likely be more about Th'mines than the City proper. Save for M'aid T'Ynydis."
- [20:58] Urist Silverbane says, "Dun's Gateway is nearly finished, N'Ynydis aims T'finish it."
- [20:59] Artemis Task says, "..."
- [20:59] Artemis Task asks, "Gateway?"
- [20:59] Urist Silverbane asks, "Did Y'father never tell Y'of his grand project?"
- [20:59] Urist Silverbane says, "S'how W'got T'Helheim so swiftly."
- [20:59] Artemis Task says, "I've heard of no gateway."
- [21:00] Urist Silverbane says, "He's been buildin' a gateway T'the realms O'the Afterlife."
- [21:00] Artemis Task says, "..."
- [21:00] Artemis Task asks, "To what end?"
- [21:00] Artemis Task asks, "Does Revan know?"
- [21:00] Urist Silverbane says, "That Therian's might adventure where they please."
- [21:00] Urist Silverbane says, "Likely he does."
- [21:00] Urist Silverbane says, "But I dinnae know F'sure."
- [21:00] Artemis Task says, "...Unfortunate."
- [21:00] Urist Silverbane says, "Ynydis has Th'components."
- [21:01] Urist Silverbane says, "N'much O'the work was already completed by Dun."
- [21:01] Artemis Task says, "I am no artificer. But if it was my father's work and you require aid...you need only ask."
- [21:01] Urist Silverbane says, "Fortunately, I am."
- [21:01] Artemis Task says, "Given the condition of the armor, I'd had a guess."
- [21:02] Urist Silverbane says, "Aye, I suppose so."
- [21:03] Urist Silverbane says, "But yes. Aunlafr, Ynydis N'I returned with Dun's remains, N'the last piece O'the gateway."
- [21:03] Urist Silverbane says, "He had pried it frae Th'spirit lords chest."
- [21:03] Artemis Task says, "Ever ambitious..."
- [21:04] Artemis Task says, "At least his work hasn't been for naught."
- [21:04] Urist Silverbane says, "N'any case. I've minin' T'do. N'I'm sure Y'have ought T'do as well."
- [21:04] Artemis Task says, "...I suppose I do."
- [21:04] Artemis Task says, "Take care. I wish you well."
- [21:04] Urist Silverbane says, "Aye, An Y'as well."
- [21:04] Urist Silverbane says, "If Y'start a fight though, dinnae lose."
- [21:04] Artemis Task says, "I don't intend to."
