  1. -Consistent RNG: Bosses-
  2. I'm on the fence on this one. I can see that this helps makes races more fair for people, and that I will never notice the difference since each seed will be different anyway. At the same time this change is against what I describe as the 'spirit of the game' of vanilla, as dealing with different RNG is part of the fun. And personally I would be against this going any further than bosses.

  6. I like how this is randomized between seeds now. If anything, maybe the variance (1-30) is a bit big, but it's not a big deal.

  9. -Forced S+Q: Skull Woods-
  10. I acknowledge that the idea of having as much randomized as possible in randomizer, but I feel the small gain in adding this chest to the pool isn't worth the side-effects of either forcing a S+Q or changing the way the room works in the code. There is also the plus side of having a fun route through this section when this chest is 100% a key.

  13. -Forced S+Q/Deathwarp/Mirror: Ice Palace-
  14. This is a problem that has popped up a couple times as bug reports. I really don't think any of the possible solutions for this one is an improvement over just leaving it alone and having to learn it the hard way. Ice Palace itself is a huge lesson in vanilla ALTTP.

  17. -Forced S+Q: Blacksmith/Purple Chest-
  18. This change can be annoying to route since it doesn't fit in with the standard 'south DW route'. But I feel like this is actually a good change, as it adds randomization and a risk/reward situation in deciding to spend the time to check these spots without the mirror.

  21. -Minor Randomization: Bonkable Object Prize Packs-
  22. I was against this change as soon as I heard of it. Again, I acknowledge that we want to have as much randomized as possible in randomizer, but the introduction of this basically removed all bonk rocks as a gameplay element. Since these are randomized, there is never any reason to use these anymore, except for maybe a desperate attempt at a fairy in an emergency.

  26. 1) v24 should have fixed this
  27. 2) Once the fix for v24 settles in, if we think there is still a need for an 'Easy' type mode we could probably easily implement this.
  28. OPINION - Keep Easy Mode on the radar for now

  30. -Ganon's Secret Chest-
  31. I don't really play the Hard/Expert modes at all, but I feel that this chest shouldn't be needed if you choose to play these difficulties.

  34. -Uncle's Hint-
  35. I can understand people liking having a small hint like this occasionally. However, I feel like this goes against what I like about randomizer. When this hint happens (something like 'Boots are in Palace of Darkness') it is a huge game changer in how the seed plays out. I think at the very least this should be removed from all 'Race ROMs' so it won't be a factor in races.

  38. -Full Glitched Default Race Ruleset-
  39. I don't really play glitched (I do watch others play it a fair bit), but I've seen that some of the allowed glitches are extremely powerful in breaking the game. Because of this, the mode is very unlike how it was originally intended to be. In the end though, I think it should be up to the people who play this mode.

  42. -Swordless Mode: Medallion Usage-
  43. This is probably the most difficult/controversial change in the list. In general I'm for making minimal changes to the core game as possible, however, the game itself was never meant to be swordless in the first place. Allowing medallions anywhere (I'm looking at you Bombos) I feel is against the intent of the mode, as medallions are quite powerful items and you can use them to pave the way to victory. The other options will force some kind of minor change to the game, either Medallion use in specific spots only, or pre-opening Mire and TRock. I guess in the end I think pre-opening the dungeons is the worst of the two options, as it has a huge effect on the logic of the game.

  46. -Fake Flippers: Death Safety Fix-
  47. Being an experienced runner of this game, I don't have a problem with fake flippers working exactly like they do in the Vanilla game. That being said, I can see that it could be a problem for newer players who try the glitch.
  48. OPINION - Whatever is best for everyone, as long as it doesn't affect normal gameplay.
