  1. Yesterday was a failure. We set out to rescue someone, and we failed, but we now have new inforamtion. The instant I returned to the tavern I made another request for help. However, this time I did not stick around to see who responded. If anyone is interested they will meet me at the front gates of town at dawn, if not. I will go alone.
  2. Back on the road now, and the group I have is… less impressive than yesterdays, but Malarak is back, so I feel confident that things will go well. I will go and learn a little more about these other two now, perhaps they are more powerful than they appear.
  3. Companion 5: Valeanoria, a half elf girl who makes me look like a grizzled mercenary, she walks along playing her lute and I’d like her if not for the fact she shooed peter away. She for some reason dodges the question when I inquire as to where she is from, and her answer to why she is here being generic and therefore unconvincing, but perhaps I am simply being cynical and she is being naïve. I fail to see what use she will be in a fight, but time will tell.
  4. Companion 6: Grigor, an older man with rather a belly on him. But it looks like he has seen some combat. He carries the symbol of Pelor and so is likely a good man, though they do tend to see the world from rather a black and white perspective. I shall have to be careful in what magics I do in front of him. He also gives the usual adventure and glory response, but for some reason I believe him.
  5. Once I had finished learning of our new ‘friends’ I walked alongside Malarak for a while, fed him one of my stock backstories and learnt a little more about how he views the world. Perhaps in time I will be able to trust him with the truth.
  6. Upon arriving at our destination, we fought a couple of hobgoblins outside, Malarak was invincible taking blow after blow to his armour and never wincing. Grigor seemed capable enough and skewered one with a javelin, but the half elf girl… She fired half a dozen arrows, but none hit their mark, it is beginning to seem my intuition was correct. I got off another patented head explosion as the last hobgoblin retreated and I think we were far enough away that those inside the ruins are not aware of our presence. I just stripped A hobgoblin of his armour and soon we will head inside and rescue the girl.
  7. Good news and bad, we have rescued the girl and all of the goblins lay dead. But Peter was shot by one of those filthy green-skins. The goblin in question died soon after, but I wish it had been at my hand.
  8. This second battle went similarly to the first, Malarak and I making a good team, Grigor doing his own thing, but effectively. And the girl firing arrows off into nothing. I was shot again which was irritating, but Malarak healed me as we sat and talked with the girl in the basement.
  9. I got to her first, rushing down and untying her restraints. She was a mess, as is to be expected. But it did give me a chance to pocket a rather lovely golden chalice. The runes in that basement were also fascinating. I took note of them before removing them with magic as they were clearly upsetting the girl. They had been drawn with her blood. It is nearing night fall and so we will camp in the shelter of one of these towers, and I will take first watch.
  10. I was woken a few hours into the night and warned of approaching lights. I quickly deduced that they were wisps and that we were in serious danger. I waited for Grigor to put his armour back on and Started firing at the approaching evil beings, the girl finally hit something with her bow and between us one of the three had been killed before they reached us. Physical attacks were having little effect but we knew there was no way the injured girl could outrun them, so we persevered and eventually killed them. Faleanoria had entirely given up on her bow and resorted to just shouting insults at them, which nearly got her killed, but nonetheless we were victorious and returned to the town only a few hours later richer and having done something good.
