  1. 1. Orla Gartland - I Go Crazy
  2. Submitted by: pai / 345 scrobbles
  3. Comment: Sadly the spanish reality show saga does NOT continue (My second most played song with 270 plays was another contestant tho), this song I found through my other server I have chuu in, a friend showed it to me. For people that didn't know i uh I guess I kinda can sing and on my way home from work I heard this song on shuffle and then I was like wait let me sing this so when I got home I spent some time learning it and then I felt a little more *affectionate* towards the song and I guess im at 345 plays now. Also I'm stupid

  13. Comment: I wanted to submit my #2 song (Sematary - Chainsaw Party with 124 scrobbles) for some extended halloween vibes but I couldn't find a version on youtube that matched the length of the song on Spotify so instead you get some acoustic whinecore :)) smilin' thru it all!

  21. 5. Brothertiger - Cannonball
  22. Submitted by: halo / 149 scrobbles
  23. Comment: Another month, another Paradise Lost drop! I think this may be the last month of this but who knows, my brain is weird and gets hooked on songs that I've heard hundreds of times for different reasons and then needs another hot dose of 300 more plays to satiate it. Anyway, Paradise Lost got 968 plays in September and only 512 in October so it's looking like I'm moving on to the pastures of other artists who were "essential chillwave" in 2010 and came back in 2020 after a few years of radio silence (hello Small Black!!!).
  24.
  25. "Cannonball" is one of my favourite tracks on Paradise Lost, obviously (well, thinking about it, this means nothing since almost every track on Paradise Lost is my favourite track on Paradise Lost). The story of "Cannonball," about the apprehension and the excitement of jumping headfirst into the unknown, echoes much of the rest of the album, as seen on tracks like "Shelter Cove" ("Should I dive in? / Will I sink or swim?") and "Swing" ("When I swing high / I hit the ground on my own two feet / Friend of mine, how do you swim so deep? / Measure my dive as I follow your lead"); as well as some of John's other songs like "Sickle" ("Got pulled in by a single thread / I wonder what it was // You recognize the pain in me / But obvious lack of certainty / I never thought I would take the lead") and "Southern Song" ("I'm not an ordinary bird / I wanna fly high / Dive into the water / Ride the ocean tide").
  26.
  27. I think "Cannonball" is especially poignant as it is immediately after "Livin',” which addresses feelings of anxiety that can arise from not feeling like you've done "enough" at a certain point in your life. Paradise Lost, at its core, is really about John not owning real estate in Ohio nor being married with kids at the age of 30 😛 And, well, that central theme has been inspiring for me as I'm not really that much younger than him and can resonate a lot with the reflections on what it means to be a "real" adult, and that perhaps that is just being able to live in the moment and jump right into the water without knowing nor caring what’s waiting once you break the surface.

  37. Comment: idk it just slaps, can't get enough of it since the release for some reason.
  38. great deal of the scrobbles were in less than 24 hours where I listened to this song on repeat for nine hours. How is this for a write-up?

  44.
  45. First most scrobbled has been subbed to other lists, so I didn't want to sub it yet again. Second most scrobbled is a song from BMTH's PH:SH (what an odd acronym) which I think many people would expect, so I didn't sub that either. So here's my third most scrobbled of the month :notalkmeangy:

  48. 9. Grouper - Headache
  49. Submitted by: else / 60 scrobbles
  50. Comment: (A lot of headaches in October) Last month was my Grouper binge, was pretty stressed and needed something mellow and calming. Short and sweet writeup, I have nothing more to say, sorry team. 😌
  51.
  52.
  53. 10. Future Islands - Born In A War
  54. Submitted by: Ras / 58 scrobbles
  55. Comment: For the past months, ive rekindle my fondness of Future Islands which was my jam back in early Uni year. Part of the reason was they were going to released a new LP after 4 years break, and they announced it by dropping a banging single back in July (which was actually my most listened track in that month). The thing about them, they could truly evokes that sense of nostalgia, reminiscing the past and ive been reading lots of comments about the same thing happens to people that listened to their music.
  56.
  57. This song in particular has their trademark impeccable baselines and retro synths with Sams captivating vocal, nothing less than what youd expect from FL. The album itself was an oasis for FL fans that I truly grateful that im still here to able to give it a listen.
  58.
  59. The first time I listened trough this album was on my way home from a friend's place across the city, the longest time since the last time ive seen them. Maybe because it was the perfect setting with the city lights all around you and that feeling of bliss, relieve, ands slightly sorrowful after I saw their faces in person for seemingly ephemeral made that journey home, and consequentially this album, much more memorable and a memory that I wont forget for quite a long time, certainly will keep me steady for these hard times.

  62. 11. Queen of the Static Opera - Fatal / Latex Girls
  63. Submitted by: stefan / 48 scrobbles
  64. Comment: This song was in the birthday playlist Death made for me early in the month. I fell in love with it (and a few other suggestions of his), so I've been listening to it a lot, and it ended up being my top track for the month. Thanks death <3

  67. 12. Beach House - New Year
  68. Submitted by: sprung / 36 scrobbles
  69. Comment: This month was just kind of a musical depression month. I didn't really have a emotional connection to any artist and I just felt lost the whole month which is actually pretty sad :I
  70. Anyways... this is a pretty cool song and I absolutely love the first 80 seconds!
  71.
  72.
  73. 13. Bladee - Inside Out (feat. Yung Lean)
  74. Submitted by: dream / 30 scrobbles
  75. Comment: All 30 scrobbles were done on the last day of the month, this will also likely be top of my tracks for November as I have 151 scrobbles as of November 6th. I'll therefore skip the next one as I don't want to subject you all to this track again :P
  76.
  77. I count myself very lucky that I still have my health and job in these times but the onset of November made me realise how much worse the winter will be. Christmas doesn't really appeal but the prospect of spending time with my friends, family and even co-workers does. I love helping my mum to cook the enormous amount of food that inevitably will be largely leftovers as we don't eat that much, meeting friends to drink hot spiced cider whilst we play board games and even the work Xmas do is a safe but enjoyable affair. Now I don't think any of that will be possible, no New Years celebrations either even if that's "just" a clubnight usually for me.
  78.
  79. Normally I play albums instead of looping tracks but something about this and Special Place grabbed me, on one hand you want to listen to something else on the other you can't pull yourself away...

  82. 14. Nicole Dollanganger - Executioner
  83. Submitted by: deathconscious / 30 scrobbles
  84. Comment: So my obsession is back yet again. Nicole ruined my charts this year and 9 out of 10 songs in my top 10 of the year so far is just Nicole. Not that I'm complaining, I love her  :black_heart:
  85.
  86. I was initially going to submit another song that isn't by Nicole not to tire y'all more with her, but yeah, I am going to tire y'all more with her. It has been going on since February this year and just last month I managed to get her to 3k scrobbles, I don't think that has ever happened with other artist since Bones and his short as hell tracks. So I don't have much else to say about her, because I used to write everything up in my write-ups in multiple previous submissions and also my personcore.
  87.
  88. My top 5 of the month include:
  89. 1. Nicole Dollanganger - Executioner (30)
  90. 2. Nicole Dollanganger - Beautiful and Bad (26) (song I would looove to submit but it's not on Spotify)
  91. 3. black wing - Unemployed (24)
  92. 4. The Soft Moon - Wasting (19) (that one track in top 10 of 2020 that isn't Nicole)
  93. 5. johnny goth - you are the reason (18)
  94. 5. Uboa - I Am Taking All Of You With Me
  95.

  97. 15. Asses - Friday Shyday
  98. Submitted by: TripToTheDentist / 29 scrobbles
  99. Comment: hello fellow scrobblers :woman_teacher:
  100.
  101. Asses is a project by Lantlôs mastermind Markus Siegenhort a.k.a. Herbst, Christian Kolf (Valborg (I subbed them to moth's very important birthday playlist! :triumph:)) and Patrick Schroeder and like everything Herbst creates, I love it. This shoegaze-y noise rock hits the spot for me right now.
  102. Also their band name belongs in every reputable lfm library. You're welcome. :blobflushed:
  103.
  104. *About the name “ASSES”:
  105. "It was just a gut feeling. We were unsure about the name, but we always came back to it. It feels just right, because the whole topic is about losers, cool losers. Everything is exaggeratedly bad. You are at a party, maybe you weren't even invited, but you are still there, wearing your new Black Metal shirt, no-one cares about you."*
  106. = basically all of us

  109. 16. Dance Gavin Dance - Young Robot
  110. Submitted by: Three / 24 scrobbles
  111. Comment: This time I know myself, it's been a long time coming.
  112.
  113. I got my Mothership vinyl this month so this beautiful track found its way back into my most played tracks, though 24 scrobbles for it this month is nothing compared to my 130 overall. One of my faves.
  114.
  115. No better time to get into DGD than the present! Enjoy my favorite band.

  123. 18. Motionless in White - Undead Ahead 2: The Tale of the Midnight Ride
  124. Submitted by: overr / 13 scrobbles
  125. Comment: The pumpkins might already be rotted at this point, but my taste is effectively Halloween themed all year long.

  128. 19. Bring Me the Horizon - Ludens
  129. Submitted by: noot / 12 scrobbles
  130. Comment: Well rip, the early Oct release by Crystal Cage isn't on Spotify: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/761155844095344640/772430877954408448/unknown.png
  131.
  132. However BMTH released their new EP *POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR* and, well, if you remember my personcore the song was already on there in march.
  133. Only reason this landed above the new tricot album was because I checked if Ludens from 2019s Death Stranding soundtrack was the same as the one from *POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR*.

  138. Comment: Longtime Canadian Pop-punk band who sang about hockey and hosers turns full pop-rock bops and I'm here for it. This album is the catchiest release of 2020.
