Background :: Jiyoung was born and raised in Ilsan, South Korea with her parents and her older sister, Jihye. She went to a average sized school and had a couple of friends there. She was quite popular in her year for her beauty at such a young age. This also made her a lot of enemies. Whenever people were ruse to her, her sister would come and stick up for her, and this is why she and her sister are so close. When she was 12 years old, she decided she wanted to get into singing and her parents agreed to pay for her to do singing lessons. They have not spoken since then even though they said they would. At 18, she was forced to quit the drama club as she did not have enough time to go to it. This was because this was around the time that she, started training under SM Entertainment. Whilst training, she went through horrible periods where she would have to do gruelling diets and practice 24/7 even on only 4-6 hours of sleep. She then had the added pressure of standing out from the other trainees that would join the company every so often. She only really got to see her family once or twice a month but she knew that it would all be worth it in the end.

Personality :: Due to the amount of competition she had in SM Entertainment, that made her become a lot more self-critical. She is very touchy and is always kissing them or hugging them or even grabbing their butts but that is just because she is just so close and comfortable with her members. She is likes doing skinship with her members for the fans because she knows that they really enjoy it. You wouldn't expect it but she is actually quite dirty-minded and is usually forced to stay away from the maknae-line when she is in her dirty mood so that she does not "corrupt" the maknaes. She is actually very good at giving good advice and she is one of the go to people when you need someone to talk to. Her talent is slept on and people often only appreciate her for her visuals.
