Instructions to Import Custom Screenshot Into Steam

Create a desktop shortcut of the game by right-clicking on it in steam and selecting "Create Desktop Shortcut". Right click on the shortcut and copy all of the numbers after rungameid to clipboard. This is the games AppID.

Navigate to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<SteamUserID>\760\remote\"

If you don't know what your Steam User ID is, you can find it by going to your profile page and it'll be the numbers near the end of it, but for people who have a custom link, you guys can use https://steamidfinder.com/ . On this site just input your steam username and you will see a list
Your ID is the numbers at the end of steamID3.
e.g. with "steamID3 [U:1:123456789]"  the id would be "123456789"

Look for a folder named with the games AppID. If there isn't one. Create one!

Open the folder.

(If you created your own folder, you'll have to make a "thumbnail" folder inside.)

Copy the exported screenshot file from the NewScreenshot folder into both the "thumbnail" folder and its parent directory.

Now check Steam and when you click on the game you should see the background image as well as the screenshot in the screenshots section.

NOTE: The time data of the image will be the real time data of when the image was downloaded/taken/moved, despite there being a completely different time code in the new screenshot title.
