  22. Warning: the above run makes a lot of dumb mistakes and doesn't use all of the individual strategies I know of now. It's hard to explain some of them, especially the faster 2-1.
  23. There are 3 routes here: the Jizo route, the lantern route, and the "original" route that's obsolete.
  24. The jizo route is much easier, the lantern route is faster. I'll update this with a video of the lantern route when I get a decent run of it.
  25. Current best times for each route:
  26. original: 41:56 / 37:24 IGT (fairly clean run, all things considered. Few mistakes, but many poor decisions like not using the mallet on 10-8)
  27. jizo: 44:12 / 39:00 IGT (sloppy run through the entire thing. Many dumb mistakes and time losses, does not use all strats below)
  28. lantern: 43:13 / ??:?? IGT (ATK's run is the best predominantly lantern run I know of. Doesn't use the mallet as much as it could, especially not with sub item abuse. As cleanly executed as the 41:56)

  30. Lantern route: |NOTES FOR WHY | 33 mallet, 27 lantern, 7 camera, 6 bomb, 1 fabric, 1 orb
  31. FABRIC: 1-1 | Default item, no choice
  32. CAMERA: 1-4, 1-5, 1-6 | Taken back to menu: using the fabric for days 1 and 2 is slower but safer.
  33. | selecting 4 and later 2 is better than 2 and later 5
  34. | 1-4 through 1-6 is faster anyway with this item setup
  35. | After 1-6, go to save a replay, cancel out, next scene.
  36. CAMERA: 2-1, 2-3, 2-4 (F?), 2-6 | 2-2 and 2-5 are slow without invincibility.
  37. | If you don't feel safe camera-ing 2-4, the fabric is safe but much slower.
  38. | Even if you used the fabric for Days 1 and 2, use the Camera for 2-6.
  39. ORB: 3-1 | Default item.
  40. BOMB: 3-2, 3-3 | 2/5 bomb XP towards 10-7.
  41. LANTERN: 3-7, 4-1 | 2/10 lantern XP towards 6-5, next scene glitch.
  42. | 4-1 requires dodging 3 sets of blues.
  43. BOMB: 4-2, 4-3, 4-4 | Yoshika's spell (4-4) can be safespotted by moving up to the lowest
  44. | "Spell Card Attack" line. 5/5 bomb XP towards 10-7.
  45. | Return to the main menu after scrolling to day 4.
  46. LANTERN: 5-1 | Give up trick, 3/10 lantern XP towards 6-5.
  47. MALLET: 5-6, 5-7, 5-8 | Safespot, safespot, hope the sisters move together.
  48. MALLET+JIZO: 6-1, 6-2, 6-3, 6-4 | Give up trick, just keep swinging away on 6-1
  49. | For 6-2, unfocus up until tree branch, focus, mallet twice.
  50. | Mallet, dodge, mallet 6-3. 6-4 is easy.
  51. MALLET+JIZO: 3-4, 3-5, 3-6, 1-2, 1-3 | 3-4 is the only hard one: mallet, lure right, lure down, mallet.
  52. LANTERN: 2-2, 2-5, 4-5 to 4-7, 5-2, 5-3 | Self-explanatory with doll sub. 10/10 lantern XP towards 6-5.
  53. MALLET+JIZO: 5-4, 5-5 | It's faster.
  54. LANTERN: 6-5, 6-6, 6-7 | It's safer. 6-7 is easy with the mallet, but gives enough XP for 8-6.
  55. MALLET: 6-8, Day 7, 8-1, 8-2, 8-3 | 7-2 can be done by sitting slightly to the right of and below Sakuya.
  56. | After she moves to the left, dodge through the kunai aggressively and mallet fast.
  57. If this strat is too hard, lantern | 7-4 is mallet, mallet, dodge 3 waves of cards, mallet, use the jizo to dodge.
  58. everything from 7-4 through 7-7 | 7-5 is mallet, direct left, mallet, direct a bit right, mallet.
  59. | 7-6 is mallet, dodge, mallet, mallet as the knives start moving, dash through Sakuya.
  60. | 7-7 is mallet, mallet from lower down, dash down, mallet, get the damage however.
  61. | 8-2 is mallet, mallet from safespot, mallet after green wave, mallet after orange.
  62. LANTERN: 8-4, 8-5, 8-6, 8-7, 9-1 | Easy outside of 8-6.
  63. MALLET+JIZO: 9-2, 9-3, 9-4 | 9-2 takes a bit of luck. 9-3 and 9-4 are easy.
  64. LANTERN: 9-5, 9-6 | Both fairly easy.
  65. MALLET: 9-7, 9-8 | It's faster and neither scene is that difficult to mallet.
  66. LANTERN: 10-1 through 10-6 | 10-1 is trivial to mallet, but costs time.
  67. | 10-2 requires dodging 3 waves.
  68. | 10-4 requires the mallet sub for extra time.
  69. BOMB: 10-7 | For 10-7, never leave Miko's head.
  70. MALLET: 10-8, 10-9 | Mallet knocks a good 30 seconds off of 10-8.
  71. | The invincibility doesn't help, though the mistakes do.
  72. | 10-9 is hard to explain but get a free hit, lure down, lure up twice.
  73. | Stand at the cluster of bullets and swing when the white circle stops moving.
  74. LANTERN: 10-10 | Activate when the hearts start.

  95. MALLET: 5-6, 5-7, 5-8, 6-1, (6-2J) | Safespot, safespot, hope the sisters move together.

  97. | After Aya misses, unfocused dash to mallet range and swing: the jizo will save you.

  99. JIZO: 1-2, 1-3, 3-5, 3-6, 3-7 | Farming XP.
  100. LANTERN: 5-2 | lolnope (very difficult with jizo if it's not maxed)
  101. JIZO: 5-3, 5-4, 5-5 | Farming more XP.
  102. JIZO: 6-2 through 6-8 | 6-2 can be done here instead. Takes some dodging, but not much outside of Momiji.
  103. | Currently, I do 6-2 in this group even though it's slightly faster earlier.
  104. MALLET: 7-1, 7-2, 7-3 | Can be jizo'd if not confident with mallet strats.
  105. | 7-2 can be done by sitting slightly to the right of and below Sakuya.

  107. JIZO: 7-4 through 9-2 | Jizo gets maxed after 7-8.

  126. Unlock Day 5 with B/L/B/B (4-1 through 4-4)
  127. Unlock Day 6 with mallet (5-1, 5-6, 5-7, 5-8)
  128. Do 6-1 for sub item unlock
  129. Jizo+doll ALL THE THINGS except 2-2 (lantern), 2-5 (lantern), 4-6 (lantern), 5-2 (lantern), 10-9 (mallet)
