  1. The Mother of Chaos
  2.
  3.
  4. Name: Adelin Rosingale
  5.
  6. Age: 323
  7.
  8. Gender: Female
  9.
  10. Race: Human
  11.
  12. Height: 5’4
  13.
  14. Appearance: Adelin is a short and dainty woman, with an oddly delicate build that belies her abnormal strength and impetuous personality. Her hair is red and incredibly spiky; unnaturaly so, a minor side effect due to the pact she’s taken with the Proteans. Her hair sticks up to the point that it refuses to fall past her jawline; it’d oetherwise fall to her shoulders, were it well-groomed.
  15.
  16.
  17. Clothing: Adelin prefers light clothing over heavy, primarily due to the fact that she has no real need in sporting the clunky battle armour you’d normally see on a frontline fighter. She generally wears dark blue robes over her clothing, complete with a hood often raised over her head.
  18.
  19. Weapon(s): Magic, along with a large black blade.
  20.
  21. Personality: Adelin comes off as eccentric, impulsive, and rather hard for people to relate to. Despite this, she’s a very good (albeit sudden) decision maker; years of experience has allowed her to realize her mistakes and know between the right thing and the wrong thing to do. Still, she’s often quick to jump to conclusions, and her own personal statements can be taken the wrong way by others, causing an endless cycle of spiraling confusion that often leaves both parties annoyed or aggitated. (Or quite often in the other party’s case, cowering in fear.)
  22.
  23. An adventurer at heart, Adelin has harboured her wanderlust ever since she was but only a young girl. She loves exploring and setting out to find new things, and as one would expect, is still quite a big risk-taker, willing to go rather far if it means finding something interesting or worth her while.
  24.
  25.
  26. Early Life: Born under house Rosingale, Adelin was destined to have a life outside of the norm since birth. Her house was a prestigious noble family of Eris, known for their long running line of powerful magi -- some of which have served in the court as the leading archmaguses. She was the middle child of Elise and Daniel Rosingale; Alina being the oldest daughter, and Ambrosia the youngest.
  27.
  28. Young Adelin was very different from her spell book reading sisters. Her father would often laugh at the girl for her eagerness to carry a sword over an oversized tome, while her mother would shake her head when she was unable to properly cast a spell due to her refusal to carry said aforementioned tome. While her sisters were stuffing their faces in books and living reclusive home lives, she wanted to explore the outside world and satiate her ever-growing wanderlust.
  29.
  30. Of course, with their prestigious past, the Rosingales still understood innovation and were willing to let the young girl stray from the norm. She was given lessons in swordplay as well as the arcane, and while her focus on honing the sword stunted her magical abilities, she brought the two together in order to create her own form of magic; true sword and sorcery. Still, there was something missing in her life: The wide expanse of the outside world called to Adelin, and by the time she was sixteen, was given the privilege to set out on seeking her first adventure.
  31.
  32.
  33. As a child, Adelin differed from her older self by also being young and naïve. She charged headlong into situations and fought like a cornered rat – except she wasn’t usually the one that was cornered. Adelin had trouble seeing danger in anything, and would often show that by rush into the fray rather than give it a thoughtful analysis. The boldness and zeal of the girl had earned her a respectable reputation among the higher-ups, affectionately referring to her as the little warmaiden.
  34.
  35.
  36.
  37. Warmaiden’s Den: Adelin has gone through many quests in her youth; one such ‘adventure’, or rather, event, had resulted in a tavern being named in her honour. After earning prestige in her local home, the smithy had a sword forged in tribute to her. She herself chose to specifics and designs of the weapon; unfortunately, being the young foolhardy brat she was, Adelin believed she could heft a sword with the thickness and heft of a warhammer. The result was a massive sword that was larger than her, and nearly as thick. The weapon was jokingly called a shield for its girth.
  38.
  39. Of course, little Adelin had tried to lift it; but try as she may, it ended with the girl falling flat on her face; causing hysteria in the masses. She shamelessly gave the blade up, realizing that its heft was far too much for her to ever use as an actual weapon, it was mounted on the wall of the local alehouse in her honour. The weapon was called the ‘warmaiden’s blade’, after her herself.
  40.
  41. However, one day at the inn, Adelin was enjoying herself to the tales and stories of the bards as always. An oil filled flask flew into the side of the wall, exploding into a shower of liquid flame. Shortly after, several more flasks were thrown into the inn, igniting the place and setting the whole area ablaze. Many were subject to the choking smoke and injured by the raging inferno; the culprits being a rowdy band of thugs who decided to pay a visit to the tavern after its failure to pay for protection. The bandits raised their weapons, charging into the fiery remnants to ransack all that was left.
  42.
  43. However, little did they expect, a 20 year old woman with a sword larger than herself was waiting for them behind the smoke. Adelin charged into the fray, and with one great sweep, sundered two of the bandits with a single swing. The remaining two thugs immediately panicked at the girl, who, shortly after swinging her weapon, struggled to even heft its weight back to a comfortable position. Fortunately, they were too busy cowering to think rationally, and were later captured by her sister; Alina; who’s magic was at a high enough level to subdue the two of them before they escaped comitting their heinous act.
  44.
  45. Thus, the tavern was rebuilt. Adelin’s blade was once again mounted; not even washed of the blood and soot staining its steel. To this day, the inn was called the Warmaiden’s Den.
