  1. RimeFang was born into a world of snow and war. His birth tribe was large and military - like, and was often at conflict with other tribes across the tundra. The tribe took shelter in underground burrows and stone caverns. Rime, along with his sister Vern were the only two cubs in their mother's last litter.
  2.
  3.
  4. Slayers were the tribe's warriors/soldiers and were often absent from the lives of their families due to battle. They would not return for days on end, or they wouldn't return at all. Rime's mother and father were feared and respected among the tribe as Lead Slayers, known for their rutheless tactical battle strategies and their pure bloodlust for the enemy. They were strict and distant to their children.
  5.
  6.
  7. When Rime was about 4 moons, the tribe was in full-fledged war with another large tribe. His mother and father were apart of a huge battle, and were ordered to retreat. But they failed to obey, driven mad by their mutual bloodlust and dangerous pride. They charged headfirst into the camp of the enemy tribe, figuring they'd barge through and slay the Chief.

  9.
  10. Mangled and bloody - their corpses sent back to the tribe and barely recognizable as a threatening statement. The bodies were presented to Rime and Vern. Thus began the boy's cold, stony demeanor. Convinced his parents abandoned them both for the mindless pleasure of tainting the battlefield with crimson. Blood was worth more than he or his sister. And Vern went into a mute hysteria. She'd shriek and scream whenever Rime would try to comfort her, and wouldn't respond to others. She'd only stare with wide eyes and a quivering body.
  11.
  12.
  13. And then she was gone. Vern had vanished without a trace, leaving Rime to fend against the ways of the Tribe on his own. The Tribe had him in a grip, thinking he'd become great like his parents - useful on the battlefield. A deadly pawn. They trained him mercilessly, ripping his kithood to shreds and instead instilling him with the mindset of a soldier.
  14.
  15.
  16. Rime was almost sure the Tribe had murdered his sister because of her shattered mental state. So he ran. He escaped the desperate claws of the Tribe with an inch of his life, flinging himself into a rushing, freezing river.
  17.
  18. He washed up on a cold bank on the verge of death.

  22. Miraculously, an elderly she-cat and her owner found him and nurtured him back to health. He was taught a number of things, developing the passive side of his persona. Then the human decided it was time to relocate from the cold lands and into more populated areas. Packing his bags and putting his two companions into the car, they set out on their long journey. They made countless stops in various places, and Rime discovered several feline cultures and was exposed to things he had never seen.

  24.
  25.
  26. He got into plenty fights during these stops, and was constantly scolded by his elderly guardian for being such a barbarian. His bullish, hot-headed attitude was numbed by wise words. He got into less fights, and instead held intimidation by the simple flicker of his eyes and his silence.
  27.
  28.
  29.
  30. Then a feline approached him with an offer. Rime was a strong boy, and they could use a young one like him in their clan. He was persuaded by the promise of a purpose.
  31.
  32. With a farewell to his elderly guardian, he was off to new lands in this world of clans. Since then Rime has been in many clans.
