ZSR - SS Any% w/ Early SotH (With Items)

**This is the optimal route for the Japanese version of the game. The purpose of this page is to remind runners where to go and what to do for the run. It does not go into specific detail on most things.**

Runs should start with a blank Hero Mode file in slot 1, and New Adventure files in slots 2 and 3.

The route splits slightly in Skyloft, depending on whether you want to do the [Wing Ceremony cutscene skip](https://www.zeldaspeedruns.com/ss/area/skyloft#skip-the-wing-ceremony-cutscene) or not (safe route).

    - Press A to bring down the log between the Sealed Grounds and Behind the Temple area
    - Load the Behind the Temple area with File 2 selected
    - BitSave File 1 at the Behind the Temple statue, but DO NOT START
    - Fly to the Sky with File 2 selected
    - After loading in, DO NOT PRESS A UNTIL LINK MOUNTS HIS LOFTWING
    - Fly to the Eldin Pillar (don't cancel Zelda's text too fast or you won't make it)
    - Jump into the Eldin Pillar and Reverse BitWarp into Eldin with File 1 (if you time it correctly you should see the camera go between Link's legs during the fadeout)
  - Jumpslash and take 2 hearts of damage
  - Scale the Volcano out of bounds
  - Sidehop over the lava river
  - Jumpslash down to the Earth Temple entrance (take 2 hearts)
  - Save at Temple Entrance statue

    - Enter Item seller's house (next to the graveyard) with File 1/2/3 selected
    - Sleep to night
    - Exit house with File 2 selected
    - Cross bridge, run to graveyard and slash back left grave
    - Perform the RBM by starting File 1, then pushing the grave back to start shed CS
  - If you performed the RBM correctly, the Earth Temple entrance cutscene will immediately start

    - Perform the RBM by starting **File 3** and clearing Batreaux's last text simultaneously
    - The last textbox is sixth after the dialogue option
  - Reveal the hidden rupee by shooting the protruding circle from the landing platform with the slingshot - this commits the RBM'd flag
  - Return to Sky and land at Temple of Time statue
  - Enter and exit back door of Lanayru Mining Facility for the Goddess Harp
  - Save at Prompt

    - Go through Behind the Temple area without selecting a file
    - Defeat the bokoblins to save machi (try to not open the splash screen still, otherwise you'll get extra Fi text)
    - AVOID ANY ITEM DROPS THE BOKOBLINS MAY PRODUCE (if you collect a treasure, the game will crash)
    - Perform the RBM by starting File 1 and clearing Machi's first textbox simultaneously (this temporary flag will go away if you leave the Lanayru Gorge or save after a death)
  - Commit the flag by blowing up the nearby rock (use two slingshot seeds on cactus bomb)
  - Save at the statue and activate [BiT](http://zelda.speedruns.com/ss/BiT/back-in-time-bit) via bombs
    - Bonk tree with File 2 selected to open gates via Modified BiTMagic

    - Select File 2 to bring down the log
    - Load into Behind the Temple with File 3
    - Start the Groose Cutscene and then select File 3
    - Enter the Sealed Temple WITHOUT SELECTING ANOTHER FILE
    - Upon entering, DO NOT PRESS A UNTIL THE CUTSCENE STARTS
    - Select File 1 and then progress through the cutscene
    - Perform the RBM by starting File 1 and then performing the final strum of the Harp tutorial
      - The last strum is the second one which has a higher pitch than the previous ones. So listen for the first higher pitched strum then start the file and perform the second one.
  - Go through Fi text (if there is no Fi text, the RBM failed)
  - Activate the minecart timeshift stone
  - Talk to the Thunder Dragon and Start the Imprisoned 1 fight (Right option on all dual options, Up on three way options; Up right and then down left on four way options)
    - Die via bomb
  - Talk to the Thunder Dragon and Start the Imprisoned 2 fight (Right option on all dual options, Up on three way options; Down right and then down left on four way options)
    - Die via bomb/feet
  - Fly to Faron

Faron Woods 2

  - Drop down at the Faron Entry statue
  - Use RBM to open the Gate of Time  (GoT)

    - BiTSave File 2 at Bazaar, but DO NOT START
    - Press B to menu back to the splash screen

    - Select File 2 to bring down the log
    - Load into Behind the Temple with File 3
    - Start the Groose Cutscene and then select File 3
    - Enter the Sealed Temple WITHOUT SELECTING ANOTHER FILE
    - Upon entering, IMMEDIATELY PRESS A TO GET OFF THE SPLASH SCREEN
    - BitSave File 1 at the Sealed Temple statue
    - Select File 2 and run into the Ballad of the Goddess Circle
    - Select File 1 before the next load
    - Skip the Gate of Time raising cutscene
    - Select File 1 to be able to target the Gate of Time
    - Perform the RBM by Starting File 1 and then releasing a skyward strike onto the Gate of Time (If the gate of time is open when you load in, then the RBM was successful)
  - Save in the Sealed Temple
  - Use RBM to perform [Song of the Hero Skip](https://www.zeldaspeedruns.com/ss/area/faron-woods#song-of-the-hero-skip)
    - Activate [BiT](http://zelda.speedruns.com/ss/BiT/back-in-time-bit) via Bombs
    - Bonk tree with File 2 selected to open gates via Modified BiTMagic
    - Talk to the UA Bird Statue with File 1 Selected, then quickly change to and BiTSave File 2 but DO NOT START
    - Press B to menu back to the splash screen
    - Jump off platform north of bazaar and select File 2 during the fadeout to the Sky (otherwise you will crash)
    - Fly loftwing to Eldin Pillar and load into Faron with File 3 selected
    - Climb log with File 2 and enter Behind the Temple loading zone with File 2 selected. Make sure to not select File 1 until Faron Woods.
    - Enter Faron Woods with File 2 selected
    - Perform the RBM by starting File 1, then pressing 2 and holding Z simultaneously to cancel the Fi Text and start the Floria Door CS
