  1. Ka'vas says, "...Ah, Zaruma, kin."
  2.
  3.
  4. Zaruma says, "Hm? Yes, hello."
  5.
  6. Ka'vas says, "Greetings... I welcome you to Askaheim."
  7.
  8. Ka'vas says, "I do not believe you have... Been here, before. No."
  9.
  10. Zaruma says, "I roam here and there sometimes."
  11.
  12. Ka'vas says, "Ah? Interesting."
  13.
  14. Ka'vas asks, "Could I trouble you with something?"
  15.
  16. Zaruma asks, "What is it?"
  17.
  18. Ka'vas says, "A spar. I grow close to ascention, and I wish to test myself against an archon..."
  19.
  20. Ka'vas says, "A playfight."
  21.
  22. Ka'vas says, "Insignificant, yet significant."
  23.
  24. Zaruma says, "Perhaps another time. I was going to collect minerals."
  25.
  26. Ka'vas says, "..."
  27.
  28. Ka'vas says, "I can offer something of value, should you win."
  29.
  30. Zaruma asks, "Such as?"
  31.
  32. Ka'vas says, "It is something I hold very dear."
  33. A tendril, black as the rest of their figure, gave formation upon the kaor's amorphous form. A variety of small shards made themselves present, though partially obscured of detail from the sludge of their holders being.
  34. (Ka'vas)
  35.
  36. The Archon turned around towards Ka'vas.
  37.
  38. Now that Kaor actually mentioned some sort of reward for winning in a fight, even if it was a simple spar, he was actually interested- considering that he was yet to hone the art of his blade, he thought 'why not'?
  39.
  40. "Mm..."
  41.
  42. "Very well. Lead to the place where you wish to fight, and I will grant you your request- in exchange for these shards, of course."
  43. (Zaruma)
  44.
  45. Zaruma was quick to note something - the fact that Ka'vas was a wind user on his own. And that is good, especially considering the fact that he's yet to practice against such adversity when it comes to his art with a sword.
  46.
  47. But without further await, the Archon encased himself in the shroud of wind, one that not only defied friction and atmospheric pressure, but was also keen on deflecting any magic that came across it- or at least try to. Obviously, this technique was still imperfect, but this would serve a good practice.
  48.
  49. With that, the wind thrusters of opaque hurricane shells appeared around him, much to accelerate his movement in whatever direction he moved. Why? To increase his chances to dodge any incoming projectile, of course.
  50.
  51. After all, that's where the technique of Garuda was, according to Usiel - in deflecting magic and being fast enough to dodge what you can't block.
  52.
  53. "Do your best, Ka'vas."
  54.
  55. "If you'll hold back, I will take it as an insult."
  56. (Zaruma)
  57.
  58. Ah, the occult tainted winds of Zaruma was something Ka'vas memorized all to well. A prior history of victories, victories, and yes, more victories...
  59.
  60. There was no assurance the outcome of this battle would be any different, however, the kaor held a desire to win. A desire to prove not only to Zaruma, but to themselves, that they were powerful. Such emotion had been unfelt by the kaor, in all previous decades.
  61.
  62. "...Indeed. I shall not hold back."
  63.
  64. With that, the kaor took to the air. Small hair-sized flagella squirmed from the kaor, letting out was sounded almost like a 'buzzing' sound-- Of course, that was prior to the onslaught of flies, wasps, hornets and more... A black smog of insects, all grotesquely painted an occultic black, stained by the demon.
  65.
  66. All Ka'vas hoped, is that they could be fast enough to be on par with Zaruma.
  67. (Ka'vas)
  68.
  69. Nelli is now observing Zaruma
  70.

  80.

  82.

  84.
  85. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 3)
  86.
  87. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 2)
  88.
  89. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 1)
  90.
  91. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: Go!)
  92.
  93. Now this was the sort of fight that he's been looking for.
  94.
  95. With the winds blasting between the two, Zaruma oft had a very good opportunity to practice both magic deflection and dodging alike- quite literally sliding between each blade of the wind, or deflecting the hurls of poison thrown at him as well, the Archon of Tempest was living up to his name of being truly fast enough to deflect or dodge about anything that came his way.
  96.
  97. And with every notion of being close to getting hit, a thruster of wind sped him up in order to avoid the attack, after all.
  98.
  99. Yet, Kaor was less lucky and less agile alike; with every hit that Zaruma dodged, another crushing blow was dealt to Ka'vas, effectively reducing the mass of demonic flesh he was nowadays into a wounded mess.
  100.
  101. Eventually, prompting to force him into defeat.
  102.
  103. But it was not the end of the battle, no. He could perhaps still use practice against certain techniques, such as the land of Occult that Ka'vas seems to use - it would indeed be useful for Zaruma in the future.
  104.
  105. On that, he spoke.
  106.
  107. "We're not done yet. Get up."
  108. (Zaruma)
  109.
  110. The force of telekinesis in parity with a blade was truly one to be admired, as Ka'vas found out firsthand. Their fight was not over, but the round was.
  111.
  112. Ka'vas had made contact on several spells-- Yet the ones of greatest impact... Zaruma seemed to foresee, weaving about them with utter ease. The archon was truly powerful... Powerful...
  113.
  114. Ka'vas desired this power. They could feel it, they could taste it. it was close.
  115.
  116. … However, the power of archondom lay out of Ka'vas' grip, for now.
  117.
  118. "Gh…"
  119.
  120. No legible response, as the red eyes of the kaor locked onto Zaruma, bearing emotion that was not quite rage, not quite malice... yet something similar of the sort. Perhaps it was blatant competitive nature?
  121.
  122. Regardless of what it was, the winds that encircled the kaor became present once more, as the smog of flies gathered into a cloud equally as large as Ka'vas.
  123. (Ka'vas)
  124.
  125. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 10)
  126.
  127. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 9)
  128.
  129. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 8)
  130.
  131. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 7)
  132.
  133. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 6)
  134.
  135. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 5)
  136.
  137. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 4)
  138.
  139. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 3)
  140.
  141. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 2)
  142.
  143. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 1)
  144.
  145. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: Go!)
  146.
  147. Ka'vas has rolled 2 or over: they may escape capture attempts (unless otherwise specified)!
  148.
  149. While Ka'vas was quite an adversity for Zaruma when it comes to fighting, thanks to the magics that functioned rather well against his fighting style, it did not help the case when Zaruma was capable of being absolutely everywhere.
  150.
  151. Thanks to technique of Afterimage, of course.
  152.
  153. But to top it off, no matter how much Ka'vas struggled to put Zaruma off himself, to ensure that the Tempest stays as far as possible, there was always a slippery moment where Zaruma could simply dodge an attack, or somehow manage to avoid it altogether- one could only ponder just how bad it would get once Zaruma at last truly grasps this technique.
  154.
  155. Every single blade of wind was reacted to, either deflected by the barrier of wind built up around Zaruma, or even dodged entirely because of how fast he was; thanks to the mastered technique of Afterimage, every single blow was met with yet another acceleration, making it a large challenge to even lay a hit upon the Tempest.
  156.
  157. To make it worse, the Occultic ground no longer functioned well against Zaruma - he managed to stay afloat at every necessary turn, simply avoiding touching the ground altogether, and when the time called for it, he could become transparent, becoming an embodiment of Wind itself to dodge the attack.
  158.
  159. With that, Ka'vas was eventually defeated, without managing to do as much as to lay a serious wound against Zaruma. It appears these constant practices with the new Garuda technique paid off, finally.
  160.
  161. Floating closer, he spoke.
  162.
  163. "You're defeated, Ka'vas."
  164.
  165. "I'll be taking those shards as my reward."
  166. (Zaruma)
  167.
  168. Violent tendrils were forced to lash in every conceivable direction to ward off Zaruma-- Venom laces, with a disgusting green congealance coating the tar ridden flesh of the kaor…
  169.
  170. Yet somehow, it were as if the tendrils of Ka'vas went through Zaruma, as if he weren't there at all to be the on the receiving end of the attack... Irritating, how very irritating.
  171.
  172. Now, Ka'vas was forced into the direct usage of wind magics. A poison aroma cloaking the demon, as a shockwave expelled such fluids out. Ka'vas could only hope the blinding effect of such remained--…
  173.
  174. But, it didn't. Zaruma was as quickly back to attacking Ka'vas as prior. Victory was closing in. it was imminent. it was...
  175.
  176. Certain. Ka'vas had lost, barely able to withhold their amorphous figure upright.
  177.
  178. "...Indeed.. You have won... The shards are yours..."
  179.
  180. "...Though I challenge you, again... A fight Iwatched you and Noxim Florus share as I was a giga..."
  181.
  182. "Demon to demon... No swords... No armor... No exterior influence. Body to body..."
  183.
  184. It was a hesitation, of course... Though something Ka'vas desired. The shards made themselves present within a tendril, that extended towards Zaruma, however.
  185. (Ka'vas)
  186.
  187. Ka'vas drops Shard Of An Umbral Lord x1.
  188.
  189. You pick up Shard Of An Umbral Lord.
  190.
  191. Zaruma simply collected the shards that were offered to him, although, at the offer of yet another challenge, he exclaimed rather fast about it.
  192.
  193. "Perhaps another time. I do have other matters to tend to, and I can be oft quite pre-occupied as a Lord."
  194.
  195. "For now, I have no time to spare for such challenge. You can come and find me about it later on."
  196.
  197. With the shard collected, the Archon was quick to be somewhere else on his way- he noted rather quick that it was the very shard he noted many times before, that of an Umbral Lord.
  198.
  199. Certainly, it could be beneficial.
  200.
  201. "For now, farewell."
  202. (Zaruma)
