I don't think that's fair? Those birds are tribe tamed and used tribe resources to tame/keep alive/breed/raise/blah blah. Everyone should be on top of keeping our stuff alive and safe. Otherwise it's just resources down the drain. I understand that you were just done with the game at that second, but regardless, stuff shouldn't be left outside or anything like that. There's more than one person in a this tribe and more than one playing, so we should all try to be considerate and keep everything alive. Because I can guarantee you that however that tame was tamed/kept alive/bred/raised/blah blah, it wasn't all by one person's lonesome.
