  1. Feedback about EU PGI Qualifier:
  2.
  3. Format: The format was absolutely terrible at first and only after weeks of begging ESL agreed to changed the amount of games per round to ensure that PGI was not 100% randomness, but actually enabled teams to show their strength in each round. Organizers of massive esports events should have more knowledge of the game, you cannot run qualifiers with 3 maps per round in PUBG.
  4.
  5. Seeding:
  6. The lack of seeding in Round 1 was amplified by bad decisions and countless mistakes on ESLs side in every single round of the qualifier.
  7. 1.) ESL decided it is ok to just play 3 instead of 4 maps in some groups in Round 1, so strong teams couldnt even show how much better they are than other teams, if they had anything other than a perfect start into the tournament.
  8. 2.) ESL allowed teams to not play all 4 games in Round 1, because they had enough points to qualify for Round 2 anyway. Teams have to play all games or the seeding based on that performance makes absolutely no sense.
  9. Immediately after the groups for Round 2 got announced, teams told ESL about all the problems, but they were told that the system is fine.
  10. 3.) For Round 2, the results of Round 1 (already very, very lopsided) were used to seed the groups. How come it is possibly that the 2nd best team and the 4th best team of Round 1 end up in the same group in Round 2? What kind of seeding is this?
  11. 4.) The whole seeding problem snowballed and ended in extremely unbalanced groups in Round 3. Teams that have never proven to be any strong got almost free tickets to LAN, while teams that have dominated the scene for over half a year were put into groups with multiple other topteams, making it impossible for all the best teams in EU or even the world to go to Leicester.
  12.
  13. Rosters:
  14. 1.) It is not allowed to play as 3 at all. This rule cannot be applied to PUBG in its current state, the game is not stable and crashes happen all the time. Teams have to pray nothing goes wrong outside of the game so they even get a fair chance at competing at all. And even if that rule is in the rulebook, why is it not enforced properly? Some teams played whole Rounds of the qualifier as 3, while other teams get kicked the moment they are not a full team in the lobby, despite being 4 players the game before.
  15. 2.) It is allowed to share your account with someone else. Players have played with ESL/PUBG accounts that obviously did not belong to them and there are no consequences. How can ESL enforce the age limit, when everyone is allowed to play with whatever account they want to? Years ago people were required to have Trusted and Premium status to play ladder in ESL. Now we have qualifiers for 2 million dollar events and everyone can do whatever they want.
  16.
  17. Teaming:
  18. There is no rule against teaming in the rulebook. There have been cases of teams colluding live on stream about choosing lootspots, focusing on certain enemy teams to ensure good placements and blatanly ignoring each other during the games.
  19.
  20. Covering groupstage games:
  21. Esports organisations rely on exposure for their competitive teams. ESL should have allowed for all the games to be covered by community casters instead of squatting on all potential games they might want to cast and not letting anyone else do it. For the biggest esports teams involved in the tournament, the majority of their games went uncasted.
