Good's Family

Offbeaten Path: Mother of Good, Sage of Ironcastle, Iconoclast of the Abbey. The Earth Pony sage known as Offbeaten Path is nothing short of a controversial figure within the world of Ironcastle. Known for her views on mutations being something that can be a beneficial thing for the inhabitants of the Castle, as well as her frequent challenges to their doctrine of trying to cure all mutations instead of trying to cure those that threaten the life of their user. Her rather... outspoken views have lead to her being blacklisted by the more overtly dogmatic members of the castle, though she retains a more solid base of support due to her ties to a certain royal family she has married into and the other sages who have slowly begun to come to her side along with those who prefer her view of mutations not being entirely negative.

Her views towards her son are what one might call a bit smothering, as she doted on him from the point of birth to the modern day, doing her best to instill in him a noble and what some might call overly saccharine view of himself and the world and left him a bit naive to the cruelty others might have in their hearts and generally unused to deception. Such was her paranoia about him ending up like the other snooty nobles that she babied him quite heavily whenever she had the time.

Steel Unyielding: Head of House Titanite and Father to Good. A rather dour man, Steel lives up to his name in being one of the most firm in his support of the privileges of the Nobility and the Knights of the Dragons thorn, owing to a time spent within their ranks by choice to see the threats that they faced. His only known weakness seems to be his Wife, as despite her known eccentricities and reputation, she seems to have an ability to sway him and therefore his houses support to her views and positions. This doesn't sit particularly well with some members of the house but the house in general has never been the closest to the Abbeas and generally put their focuses more on supporting the nobility and their rights along with the royalty with which they share close ties.

Steel and his son have a somewhat distant relationship, as he sought to undo some of Path's choices and harden the boy so he might be better able to handle what the world has to throw at him. This has lead him to be cold and even a bit callous at times but he feels it is a necessity and is the one thing he will genuinely not budge on with his wife.
