Honnouji Academy is forcefully ruled by the iron-fisted control of its student council and its president, Satsuki Kiryuuin. Transfer student, Ryuuko Matoi, arrives on campus carrying a giant sword, that is actually half of a scissor. She is looking for the woman who holds the other half of her sword who killed her father. It is said that Satsuki Kiryuuin knows the identity of the killer but when Ryuuko confronts her she is beaten by the student council and their powerful "goku uniforms" whom she cannot match in strength. However, once Ryuuko receives her own "Kamui" by the name of Senketsu , the odds are lifted in her favor.
A young girl arrives at a school of superhumans to find out the truth behind her father's murder.
Story, 6/10: The story was honestly, the hardest thing for me to put a rating on. There are moments when KLK tries to have serious emotional moments only to be followed by several jokes and ridiculous ones. Its not too complicated to follow, but the absurdity of it can feel like a little too much at times. <br/><br/>Art, 8/10: Really good, from character designs to backgrounds to the animations ,this is one of the strongest aspects of KLK. They are able to make what would otherwise be bland and simple setting look much more grand then they should.<br/><br/>Sound, 10/10: The soundtrack is amazing, I don&#39;t really have anything negative to say about it, I mean whenever I hear &quot;Don&#39;t loose your Way! I can&#39;t get it out of my head for at least a week. It definitely fits the battle scenes and got my hyped whenever I heard it.<br/><br/>Characters, 8/10: The Characters are another very strong part of the show, they are unique and have personalities that fit their character and are memorable. My biggest issue is with Mako, the comedy relief of the show, sometimes she is entertaining while others see is just annoying.<br/><br/>Enjoyment, 8/10: I had fun watching this show, more than I thought I would to be honest. The art, sound and characters made this show, the only reason I didn&#39;t rate it higher is mostly because of the story, but also there were times when the nudity felt a bit much.
If you happen to like anime like Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagan or FLCL, this looks like another show for you. Quick pacing, weird(and nice) shonen parody humor and everything seems to be way over the top. Five episodes in, I am already enjoying the story, although you can clearly tell that the focus is not there.<br/><br/>The main selling point of this show is mostly it&#39;s animation, which, as usual with TV shows it gets a bit worse after the first episode. But it still very solid. You will find yourself pausing many times just to see clearly a chaotic shot up close. All in all, i recommend Kill La Kill, especially for fans of quick paced, weird anime like the ones i mentioned before.
