Information for players; DuckTales Jan 28th

We'll be doing 6 rounds -- you must play all 6 rounds.  The top 8 people advance to the next stage (Feb 4th).
For each round we'll have 3 featured matches.  These races will be staggered to begin 3 minutes apart.  We'll watch the first featured match, then when someone finishes we'll switch to the second featured match (already in progress), and then when someone finishes we'll switch to the third featured match (already in progress).
There will be 4 race channels on IRC.  A channel for each of the 3 featured matches, and a fourth channel with everyone else who isn't being streamed.  The races for the 3 featured matches will begin 3 minutes apart from each other.  For the fourth channel with everyone else, you can start whenever everyone is readied up.
Mithical9 will be in IRC to help you find the channel you're supposed to be in and to tell the players who will be featured each round.
If you're in a featured race, make sure to stream game audio only (no mic).
Forfeiting is discouraged -- a forfeit will count as 12 minutes.  This matters because your average race time is used for tie-breaking purposes when we seed for the Top-8.

If you haven't registered your nick and stream with SpeedRunsLive please do this ahead of time, because people often have trouble with it.  On saturday it will be assumed that you're already able to log into IRC and race.

You'll be streaming to your own twitch channel (or i can give you an alt channel if you don't want to do that).
* Include a timer on stream (splits are optional).
* Set your audio sample rate to 48kHz (not 44.1kHz).
* Recommended video settings:  480p to 720p resolution.  30fps to 60fps.  1000kbps to 1500kbps bitrate.
* If your internet is slow or unstable, lower the bitrate to 600kbps and the framerate to 30fps.
* You can use your regular stream layout.  I'll be cropping ahead of time using your most recent VOD (but you can use a different layout if you want).  You can also do a stream-test before the tournament and send me a link to the VOD.
