SMB2U Christmas Challenge 2023

Submission Deadline: Sunday, December 17, 2023 at 11:59 PM EST

Challenge Requirements:

-Players must use the hack Super Mario Bros. 2 - Christmas Edition 2022 Update (with no additional patches/modifications - do NOT apply the vanilla ice patch)

-Complete the game using the traditional Any% speedrun route (Take the warps in 1-3 and 4-2)
-One unique character must be selected to complete each world (all levels in that world). The are four worlds in Any% (1,4,6 and 7) and four characters. The character choices are up to the player

-Example:
1-1, 1-2, 1-3 - Mario
4-1, 4-2 - Luigi
6-1, 6-2, 6-3 - Toad
7-1, 7-2 - Princess

Rules:

-No cheats/emulator/flashcart features may be used (save states, slow down, etc.)
-Video of your full run is required. Run must be a genuine attempt completed prior to the submission deadline to be eligible to receive a prize
-All submissions must adhere to speedrun.com (SRC) SMB2U submission rules
-Prizes will be distributed through Paypal, Venmo, or merchant gift card (winner's preference)

Prizes:

-Player who finishes with the fastest time - $75
-2nd fastest time - $50
-3rd fastest time - $25
-One randomly selected participant outside of the three fastest times - $25
