[12:44] Golden hues would glare intensely at the little Razuka, his arms crossed as he expected her to step to his side to join him in woodcutting. Yet as her eyes would dart between him and his wife, he wouldn't be surprised to find her falling in the middle, trying to pull the two together.

Though the Horned Priest would not budge.

There were chores to be done, and money to be made. Lilly and Revan bother understood they would have to divide and conquer to make the gold for the projects they wanted. Though Revan believed he was OBJECTIVELY the stronger pick between them, as they could cut more would together than following Lilly to mine, Revan would still wish for Lilly to have to back up.

As Estra would surrender her choice, the strong would take charge, Revan stepping forward and giving a levitation Potion to Lilly, he would march off, spying his sister nearby.

This will do.

A hand would grab her by the shoulder as he didn't break stride.

"You're coming with me. Enjoy mining you two."

[12:46] Artemis wanders idly among the sleepy snowdrifts of Theria, in search of amusement. And just like that, as her older brother finds her, her fate is sealed.

"I beg your pardon?" she asks of her sibling, indignant. "And for what precisely?"

But it's too late. He's taken her by the shoulder and she's practically dragged along in confused outrage.

[12:49] Lilith would be watching, wondering who Estra would pick. She wanted to get to mining real quick, and it wouldn't matter if she chose Revan over her. As long as they got the money of course! Since... She's down her last 500 coins after all... But, seeing as Revan would leave and take his sister with him, she would smile at Estra. Wondering if this meant that she would come with her.

"Revan, take care alright? Don't get into any trouble with your sister!"

She would nod her head, flowing above the ground and crossing her legs. Just like those monks she met during her trip to that Barsburg Engineer.

[12:52] Estra felt terrible she nearly reached out and grabbed Revan as he walked past. She felt so defeated and bad. It appeared that she couldn't make everyone happy in this situation.

Though Lilith's happy face would make her feel a little bit better. Estra would smile up to Lilith before who gaze moved to Revan feeling bad again. It would seem she was going to go with Lilith. This was good and bad. She felt conflicted about all of it.

[13:23] Having cleared quite the area himself, the Priest would begin to idly stretch and let his muscles cool down from the intense workout- though for Revan, at this point is was moreso to keep himself in shape.

A brow would quirk as he looked to his sister, hesitant to state it bluntly, he would wonder what her candid take on it was.

"Of course, little sister, I wouldn't want use speaking anything but the truth to one another. Such is the way of the strong."

Tasks certainly weren't above deception, Revan included, but for him it was a weapon to use against those that outnumbered you,or outpowered you. When might fell short, wit would pick up.

"We are family, after all.. And I care about each of my siblings, I wish to know what is on your mind."

[13:27] Her ears swivel each which-a-way, careful to detect any errant listeners. She considers her words, gathers her poise, and speaks to her sibling. Plainly.

"They are as anything else is outside our family. Stepping stones. Tools. They make for decent allies, but it ends there. And only so long as their power adds to our own."

While Artemis' upbringing was softer, less on physical labor and toil, it did not mean she didn't glean other facets of the family's dealings and lifestyle.

[13:27] Artemis Task says, "I don't care who or what they are. So long as it accomplishes that goal? It doesn't matter."
[13:32] There would be a faint smile hidden beneath the helm as he listened to his little sister speak, and spoke like a true Task might he add. It was a sentiment he certainly shared in, though over the years how useful of a stepping stone they were came up for debate to him.

"I see father's teachings have sunk deep into you as well.. Good.. I agree, they are nothing but obstacles, another rung on the latter for us to use for our rise."

Yet Revan's question always became when did they outlive their use? Certainly when they became too much to handle, but was there a point before that? Regardless, Artemis was armed with the Task's sword of ambition, and clad in their iron apathy to all things that didn't concern their main plan.

"I think you will do well in Osrona, sister.. Just keep your head up, an eye on your back.. And watch what you drink."

He kept pressing that last point, though assoon as she mentioned an artificer, Revan already knew the risk she ran. So he would keep reminding her to keep her guard up.

[13:36] She might not have been sibling by blood, but she was Task in name, bearing, and rearing. Those three far outweighed anything so pithy as blood.

"They have. I took to them while you all were out slapping rocks with your bare hands," she comments, returning briefly to take her claws to a nearby tree.

"I know, I know. I'm aware your concern comes from a good place. But you don't have to worry. Even they are just stepping stones.

To where?....I don't know yet. I'll figure it out along the way."

Raw, rough ambition, like an uncarved diamond. All it needs is a refinement in purpose. So far? It is simple elevation of the family name. The 'how' and can surely be found eventually.

[20:17] The beastkin comes striding across the bridge, stopping to examine the two loiterers from a distance.

[20:24] After crossing the bridge and making it in his trek to Starfall island, the now hood-wearing boy comes across a familiar sight. Artemis. She may not recognize him at a distance, but his features are clear beyond the shadow of his hood when he approaches.

..There's dry blood on his garb, and the edges are burnt, licked by flames. "I- hello," he greeted quietly, "..Of all the people."

"I have something to tell you, I think," the cloaked youth began, eyeing the woman momentarily, hesitantly even. His hands made for the edge of his hood and pull it back to look towards her properly.

[20:27] And there she is, the Lady Task in the flesh. She treks restlessly, brows beetled, and pauses only when her ears swivel to catch noises behind her.

Any stranger that approaches is treated much the same. With cold, wary curiosity.

"Mind yourself. You don't know who you're dealing wi-... Ah. Altair." A measure of her rigid tension eases. She almost looks disappointed?

"You are unexpected. What do you have to say?"

[20:32] The initial surprise that followed her defensive nature softened into a smiile. It was something he enjoyed, but there was more important matters to get into right now--and he didn't waste any time with it. Despite longer, unkempt hair and an outfit that was torn freshly from battle, the boy spoke animated and lively, hands moving in gestures as he did so.

"Theria. There was a battle - a sudden civil war. And it involves your family," he claimed, "Revan Task told your... grandfather? The eldest? That the demons are no longer welcome on the mountain, and he poisoned him. Then they fought a duel, and the elder nearly died..."

"I think... he might be in bad shape. It gets worse, though."

"There was more fighting--more disputes--it went on for the entire day, but by the end of it all Revan was exiled from the mountain along with a Dragonlord named Barrachan. It's chaos up there."

He humly bowed his head afterwards, after delivering the 'bad news'. "No one's dead, at least."

[20:37] A part of her had been out looking for trouble. Hoping against hope for something to sink her claws into. She finds trouble alright. Not the kind she can tear at though.

Artemis' face falls. Quickly. All her bluster and haughty disposition is gone, just like that.

"He...He what!? Revan and who!? You...father?"

The hairs on her tail stiffen, her ears lie flat flush with her skull.

"Revan. I- He...Where is he? Where did he go?"

[20:42] An expected reaction given what had transpired. The boy instinctively followed with a tuft of overgrown black hair, pulling it behind his ear and then speaking quiet and soft, "After he was ousted... Pachua... that feathery creature... told him he's exiled, and took his helmet. Nobody stood against it because the demons supported him, and defeated anyone who did it."

"Revan left Theria. Where? I've no idea. Sorry."

An apologetic smile followed, and he breathed a deep inhale and then exhaled out. "-One of the wolves attacked me. If I didn't know magic, I'd surely be dead. I can't stand for that kind of world, and neither could Revan."

"..If you need anything, I'll be here. But a lot has happened recently. Too much. That rakuza, Bolt, hired a thug to try and rob me. Osrona isn't safe and neither is Theria. Ah. -Sorry. You have this to worry about. What will you do?"

[20:46] Her composure cracks. All the signs of distress are clear. She mutters to herself, looking down and frantically all about at the ground. A clawed hand rakes through her hair.

"...Gods it all makes sense now, that little- That idiot!" she howls in shrill anger. Their discussion now, in hindsight, held terrible foreshadowing.

But why? Why hadn't he talked to her? He'd kept his little secret and now? Now the Task family was divided.

"I'll need to find Revan. And my father. Then...I don't know."

[20:51] A moment of silence followed her words, considering the situation and giving pause for the details to properly sink in for Artemis. And while the first step was clear enough, the boy franked when he witnesses her expression twist with a flash of frustration.

"It's okay," he reassured, "And it'll...be fine. I hope."

His hand raised and moved to settle on her shoulder, though hesitant and slow - like he'd never made to comfort another person. Doubtful that it'd help, but he continued anyway, "I'll come with you, unless this is something you need to do alone." His smile, while slight and barely a curve, was pleasantly soft. At least one of them needed to act like they had it under control.

[20:54] Composure trickles back in. Artemis smooths over after her outburst, taking a deep breath. The hand rests on her shoulder then, carefully, it is grabbed by the wrist and removed.

She can put on a mask. It will suffice.

"If you are comfortable with Theria...that is where I'm going first. Come with me if you wish."

These things don't sort themselves. Perhaps it was best she'd departed the den when she did.

[20:55] Altair says, "Alright... let's see what the aftermath of it all is."
[20:55] Altair says, "I saw Revan and a group by the base of the mountain when I left, but..."
[20:55] Altair says, "Long gone by now."
[20:56] Altair says, "They were in the caslte last."
[20:56] Artemis Task says, "...Take me there, please."
[20:57] Altair whispers: Here you are.
[20:59] Her name being called out forced her gaze back unto Pachua.

"...It's happening again, Pachua. Those people I care about leaving me again." She slowly realized that truth now inside of her heart, blossoming into words that she could understand. "I'm a failure. My time in Theria taught me about how the strong can do whatever they want. It showed me a lot." She remembered briefly when Barrachan berated her once upon a time.

When she remained in Osrona- Her companions abandoned her and ran away. When she locked herself in the city- It became a problem for everyone she knew. Yet when she ventured out to mend such a problem? They started to hate her even more- Fighting around her, and causing her to feel confused, and worthless.

Azshara didn't want to suffer it again, as a wide frown surfaced upon her features. It is her own reluctance killing her, specially when Pachua knew of the voice that hid behind the gate.

"I believe you, Pachua. When the demons do become that threat... Promise me you won't hold back. That you won't give them a second chance." They already soiled their first chance within her heart as they stole the Shimmering City from her. There couldn't be another chance.

[20:59] Following the peak of the confrontation, the nimble boy returned with Artemis, escorting her to the depths of the castle where it all talk place. "Ahem," he coughed, then took a step back once the deed was done - suddenly feeling out of place amidst it all.

...This was bound to be interesting, at least.

A family feud. A poisoning. And now this.

[21:00] Dun Task says, "Oh, the usual."
[21:01] Dun Task says, "Poisoned, attempted assassination, banished Revan from Theria and disowned him."
[21:01] Dun Task says, "Average day. Pachua now bares the helm of the first flame, he is the patriarch of the Fireblooded in the eyes of Garljing."
[21:01] Artemis Task asks, "...That's all the explanation I get, then? Why in the Hel would he do such a thing?"
[21:01] There were no words that came about it, because talk is cheap.

Instead, Pachua would kneel down so that the two were in close proximity of one another and let his protective wings come out in complete span to wrap around and pull them in. The same came with his hands as the only thing that came was a simple, long hug.

A tighter grip came as his chin rested on their shoulder and his heterochromia eyes came to a close.

"Go with your friends in Myllenoris and be safe. I will do all that I can to protect Theria, and make sure that everything goes how I see it."

[21:03] Stepping forward, an ornate cup warm with green tea was offered - and he smiled at the bottle of wine, too. "This one isn't poisoned, don't worry...But it'll sooth the sting,, and maybe the wine will help to numb it further."

After that, he bowed his head and took a step back.

Elders should be treated kindly. Even if they're century old powerhouses.

[21:06] Artemis keeps up her composure, but only barely. A frown tugs down the corner of her lips in light of this latest news. Poise can only hide so much of it.

"...I am glad to see you well. I am sorry I was not here to intervene."

Maybe Azshara needed this warmth- A forgotten warmth that slowly cascaded around her form. Closing her eyes to let her spirit delve deeper into the feeling. Slowly, she gently wrapped her arms around Pachua's form, and rested her forehead on the feathery Drakanite.

"Do that, Pachua… I'll see you soon." Azshara whispered softly into the ear of her friend. A quiet hum of sound magic whistling off her form as she held Pachua long. This would be the last time that she would see him for a while. This would be the freshest memory that she could cherish deeply.

"Hopefully.. The next time we see each other. Things will be different.. Where we're both strong in our own way."

[21:07] Dun would merely offer Artemis a side hug and a head pat. He'd ruffle her hair with a light sigh as he nodded.

Pachua wasn't a liar, when he said those words, he meant it. He will make sure that the future is secured for Theria, and by extension, other places. With the hug being returned, the only thing that the confused eighteen year old could do was hold on tight for just that moment.

He needed it more than anything else, really. He was a mess behind the demeanor of cold. So knowing that meeting them again was nigh impossible due to this circumstance only made things harder for the Drakos.

But he never let up until they let go first -- a trait that he got from a book.

The only thing that she is blessed with- The only thing that her parents worked so hard to protect. Now she's out there in the world on her lonesome.

Letting go, Azshara's eyes would deeply gaze into Pachua's.

"...I will live. Don't worry about me. I need you to live, Pachua." Azshara stated, "Promise me that you'll live, and I'll promise you the same thing." The Rhoynish spoke clearly to the Drakanite. She didn't want to be the only one to carry that burden and expectation.

[21:15] Altair whispers to Artemis Task: I... think that's everything.
[21:17] A pinky lock is made to ensure the promise.
A single nod made towards the Drakanite as a small smile surfaces on the girl's face.

"Until next time.. I'll be practicing with my singing so I can give you a nice gift on our next meetup." Azshara teased with a slight giggle- to make the farewell lighthearted.

[21:17] Artemis only stands there, staring at her feet. All else seems to fade into grey as she turns her thoughts inward.

[21:18] Altair frowned lightly, then gave a hesitant nod.

[21:18] Pachua says, "Until later, Azshara."
[21:18] Altair whispers to Artemis Task: You don't seem like you'll be okay, not yet at least. Should we go to Osrona or would you rather...
[21:18] Altair whispers to Artemis Task: Process everything.
[21:18] Artemis Task whispers to Altair: ...It's clear. That woman's gotten into his head.
[21:18] Altair whispers to Artemis Task: I didn't hear him mention Myllenoris once. I think it was just the demons.
[21:19] Altair whispers to Artemis Task: But either way, after you speak to him, you'll need to make a choice. And you said your family comes first, right? What about when they're divided like this?
[21:21] Artemis Task says, "...."
[21:22] Artemis Task says, "I don't know. I truly, really don't know."
[21:24] An understandable reply he acknowledges with a small nod. The boy gestured with his left hand over to the nearby benches, "-Maybe sitting and taking a breather will help, yeah?"

Altair was worried. The instability that lurked.

[21:25] The beastkin drags a hand down her face. No matter how she tries, she cannot fully hide that troubled expression. No. There is a fracture in the strong foundation of her family now.

"...Perhaps. I am already restless as it is. Sitting will do me no justice," she mutters forlornly. "I need to find him. I will hunt him down if I must."

[21:28] The boy flashed an innocent, toothy smile to that.

[21:31] Artemis waves limply to Miranu, then turns back to Altair.

[21:31] Artemis Task whispers: ...Father mentioned Myllenoris. Perhaps he is there.

[21:32] Altair whispers to Artemis Task: So it's just good manners, you know? -And maybe, we could check it out.
[21:32] Artemis Task whispers: For now, this is my purpose. Finding out what caused Revan to go off of his damned rocker.
[21:32] Altair whispers: The timing was bad in the midst of a war.
[21:32] Artemis Task says, "...It was."
[21:32] Altair says, "A civil dispute like that..."
[21:32] Altair says, "Ah."
[21:34] Artemis Task says, "...I had hoped for better from my brother. I am ashamed to see he is an idiot."
[21:34] Altair asks, "How old is he exactly?"
[21:34] Revan Task says, "Though this is what I get for fighting with a hole in my chest"
[21:34] Altair whispers: There he is.

[21:34] Altair whispers: Maybe your father wasn't wrong.

[21:36] And in stalks Artemis, positively bristling. Her nose twitches, smelling the air, and her eyes rove. They settle on none other than Revan.

And she snarls.

"Good Gods, I had held out a faint hope you weren't here- you had best start explaining yourself. Now."

[21:36] "..There's an inn not far from here," Altair suggested so quietly that it was practically a whisper. He felt as if they wouldn't be moving, however.

[21:41] Found sitting defeated, his father had called him a knifee ar in parting, and here he would be sitting amongst them. He could have made the trek to Alabastre, yet Myllenoris had more strategic value, so he would have to swallow his pride and come to the one other place that housed a temple for dragons.

"Oh, hello-" There'd be a sudden stutter, be it from his own injured breathing or the fact he had no right to claim her as his sister any longer.

"Hello Artemis.. I'm not sure what more there is to say.. I made my ambitions clear, but I stepped in half measures."

If he thought back to it now, he would've risked a death match outright now without any poison, and he would have had someone look at his chest so he would've been prepared for Pachua and the demons.

"I've been disowned and exiled, so here I will gather the kindling I need to light Theria ablaze of those who let Demons into our walls. The true faithful have followed me here, and we will march to take Theria back."

He'd state his goals an ambitions, a question he had dodged earlier as he prepared for the very coup she had so narrowly dodged.

[21:45] Revan talks. He talks a lot. What he says is less important than he doesn't say. The bristling beastkin steps in, stalks right in front of her brother- or is he no longer a brother at all?- and lifts her hand.

To try and slap the bejeezus out of him.

Injured or not. This is what she's going for. He doesn't have that accursed tin can on to protect his face.

[21:47] Xyth looked toward Revan as he spoke, though looking toward Artemis, he seemed to breathe lightly.

"Revan, should I leave you two alone for a moment to speak about your own fares? I can see that you'll be fine for the most part. Though you want to keep your injury. As a doctor I cant really-"

Before Xyth could finish, Artemis moved closer, only to have him let her say anything as she moved, but a slap to the face was something he wouldn't really say anything about.

This was their fight. Their relationship. But, Xyth would just sit there and insure no actual harm came to either of them

[21:49] Orca didn't know of Artemis' heritage. Didn't know what Revan had done to her previously. But if Orca was able to restrain herself from hitting her son, everyone else should too. Even if they had a valid reason.

And the hand was stopped by her own. It was predictable enough to not require inhuman reaction. And her annoyed gaze was quickly traded for a neutral one.

"Whatever it is you're hitting him for, it is excused. My son stood up to his false father.."

"Though, what gives you the right to strike him?"

[21:56] He would speak his peace, perhaps it was habit now to speak in riddles. A habit of his Aunt Saranta, and a sign of a breaking mind, to speak the truths that other's couldn't comprehend.

Though he was to encumbered by his injuries, and very enamored with this bench, to try and dodge the slap. Luckily his mother in law would be there to protect him from the slap, though it was rightly deserved.

"I'm sorry, Artemis. I tried to kill father, and attempted to push the demons out of Theria by mobilizing the demons. I have been disowned and exiled."

He would repeat the sentence once again, but what were words to a dragon? Though he was injured, he was still prepared to fight for his home. He had renewed purpose, and knew the stake that they found themselves in.

"I'm sorry to have disappointed you, like so many others."

[22:01] Instead of the satisfying, cathartic slap to Revan's face her hand hits Orca's. Her ire turns to the woman that has gotten in her way.

"False father? The right? This is my business and not yours. This here is...or was my brother," she snarls. "This business? It is not yours."

With those same exposed teeth she turns to Revan. Not only angry, positively furious, but wounded.

"That is what you were talking about? Were you trying to hint at some little scheme of yours instead of actually talking to me, you absolute imbecile!?

And that as your solution. Just to attempt to kill him? Not to try any sort of reason? Do Hades and Valero even know what you've done?"

[22:05] Not her business? Apparently there was a lot of things that little Artemis didn't know about. However, it wasn't her place to tell any of it, seeing as Artemis seemed to share Revan's father, unfortunately.

"Very well."

No more words were to be shared with her, instead standing up and slowly making her way towards a familiar face..

"..Asha?" she asked, staring in disbelief for a while.

[22:05] Xyth sighed a little with the Task family being so unknowing of others. Though, Xyth seemed to open his mouth for a moment. Even after Orca got slapped.

It seemed that a brawl was going to be starting, such a day.

"Revan. I suggest you and your sister talk to one another. Because the way you went about your so called plan was still half baked. Though, she and your former siblings do deserve to yell at you for doing such a thing.

Though, I doubt my words will stop a fight from happeni-"

With that, Orca seemed to walk away. It seemed that she wasn't falling victim to her occult at all now. That actually put a smile on his face for a moment, but he looked back to the two siblings.

[22:10] His breathing was labored, and it seemed like it took much of his focus. Though the pause from having to speak would give him more time to think about what to say to the enraged little adopted sibling. Revan would think to how him and Hades agreed on demons, how his Father had whispered the plans, but it all seemed like false promises to keep him in line.

"Hades and Valero.. I expect will learn soon enough.. They were not informed of my plans, I can tell you that.. I expected Hades to support me, and Valero to throw a tantrum and reluctantly follow."

She wanted him to talk it out, but it already took him so far just to make the leap to do it- he was in no frame to try and negotiate against their father. As the ex-brother saw it, it was a test of his to overcome their father, but he would have to do so again it seemed.

"It was perhaps a hint.. I doubt I would've truly disclosed anything.. Truthfully I am thankful you are spared from it all.." His golden gave would look down, his posture carried defeat, but there would still be a lighthearted chuckle from him.

"I guess I did get too soft."

[22:16] The beastkin's ears remain entirely flat against her head. He makes things clear now, far after the fact. It does nothing to ease or soothe her in the slightest.

"You didn't think to talk to any of us either? Not even them? I wish you'd gotten your head out of your ass, Revan!"

Her eyes move over to Orca. It sounds as if this had all been planned.

"...But I see you've new family already. It hardly matters. Does it?"

Artemis stands tall, turns on her heel, and starts away.

[22:20] The felinae simply looked toward Artemis and Revan, trying to see how the eventual talk would leave to, though he could feel her very pain, only because its something that happened to him once before. Though, Xyth doesn't say a word, and makes sure they solve it out.

[22:25] There were so many things he wanted to talk to him about, but between him stalking their father's movements and looking for a good opening between his chores and other obligations, it simply never came to pass. It was funny hearing this talk, it was oddly reminiscent of his wife when they were kids, as Revan would rush head first into danger.

"I'm sorry."

He prefaced every sentence with this now, he didn't know what else to say. Truthfully, he did feel disgrace in his heart despite feeling just for his cause.

Perhaps the poison truly was too much.

Yet then it would becoming painfully clear to Artemis, Revan had found other people over his journeys. People that cared for him and they for him. He wanted to talk to Artemis longer, to stop her from leaving.

He wanted to share the painful truth he held of their father, yet he would be stopped by the realization.

She's adopted.

Could she really connect with the struggle he felt in side about the man who killed his own mother? Who deprived them all of love and affection growing up and put throw a grueling training regiment?

No..

She was raised like the rest of them, and she wasn't blood either. As much as he wished to reach out to his sister, to hug and comfort her, to try and atone for causing such a divide in their family.

But he was family no longer.
