  1. A jobless man applied for the position of "office boy" at a very big company. The employer interviewed him, then a test: clean the floor. You are hired. the employer said. Give me your email address, and Ill send you the application to fill, as well as when you will start. The man replied, I dont have a computer, neither an email. Im sorry, said the employer, if you dont have an email , you cannot have the job. The man left with no hope. He didnt know what to do, with only $10 USD in his pocket.
  2.
  3. He then decided to go to the supermarket, bought a 10 kg tomato crate, then sold the tomatoes door to door. In less than two hours, he succeeded and doubled his capital. He repeated the operation 3 times and returned home with $60 USD. The man realized that he could survive by this way, and started to go everyday earlier, and returned late. Thus, his money doubled or tripled everyday. Shortly later, he bought a cart, then a truck, and then he had his own fleet of delivery vehicles.
  4.
  5. Five years later, the mans company was one of the biggest food retailers. He started to plan his familys future, and decided to have a life insurance. He called an insurance broker and chose a protection plan. When the conversation was concluded, the broker asked him his email. The man replied: I dont have an email.
  6.
  7. The broker replied curiously, You dont have an email, and yet have succeeded to build an empire. Do you imagine what position you could have if you had an email?
  8.
  9. The man paused for a while, and replied: An office boy!

  27. Yup. There are about a dozen or so random visions in my head where I said "I will remember this moment", despite having no real remarkable thing to remember.
  28.
  29. I'm hoping that if I do it more times it will be a regular thing, so even if I said I will remember this moment, I won't.

  59. Had this frustration with some old bosses. We had a network admin who was rarely visible, which bugged the owner and his partner. The thing was, Admin had all these scripts and monitoring software and other tricks up his sleeve, so everything worked 99.99% of the time, because he would catch stuff before it became an emergency that stopped something.
  60.
  61. The next guy was good and knowledgable, but not quite as smooth as Admin1 was. Things would go offline occasionally and Admin2 would have to scramble and "save the day". The owners loved him. One day they were talking shit on Admin1 and I couldn't stand it anymore and detailed the differences between Admin1 and Admin2 and why they were wrong to talk shit.
  62.
  63. I don't think they got it though. It always made me sad. I'm just glad the IT manager appreciated the shit out of Admin1.

  92. That’s my theory on weddings. Embrace mistakes and minor disasters - it is those that make the day memorable to others (and you). Everyone still talks about the blizzard the night before my wedding and how the hotels lost power and people had to shovel themselves into the ceremony and all our fancy clothes got a bit dirty. Good times. If it all went smoothly, no one would have remembered that missed weekend of theirs.

  101. My favorite person in the world, Steven Rinella, said it best. Suffering is the highest order of fun. No one laughs around a camp fire about an uneventful trip to the park. We laugh about the times we overcame extremely uncomfortable circumstances. They can suck in the moment, but they are what makes life worth reflecting on.

  122.
  123. So my wife picked him up by the armpits and awkwardly carried him down the aisle, and as they walked by people on each side took turns taking some flower petals from the basket in his hands and throwing them out into the aisle for him. It was cute and hilarious.

  182. I think about this a lot, looking back over life of 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. How is so much forgotten? I lived each of those hours. This is why we shouldn’t sweat the petty stuff. Unless it’s big enough to worry about tomorrow or a week from now, don’t stress it today. Later you won’t remember it. We only remember the big things.

  186. Someone once told me about the seven rule. If you’re freaking out about something, see if it will still be relevant in 7 minutes. If it is, how about 7 hours? 7 Days? Months, years? Chances are most things won’t be relevant past the first two. It puts a lot of small troubles into perspective.

  620. Things didn’t start well today but smoothed out rather quickly.
  621.
  622. Forgot to take the trash to the curb last night and woke up around 9, saw the full trash in the kitchen and realized the mistake and whined because our small freezer went out so we lost some meat which was now attracting flies in the bin. The stinky mess would have to sit another week.
  623.
  624. Around 1, I heard the garbage man and ran to pull the bin around and went to ask if he would still take it as he was parked at the end of the block.
  625.
  626. Did you know that they have to record when they are unable to do pick ups? I didn’t know but I understand why they would. The driver was very defensive when I came up even though I started off with “Hey I forgot to put our trash out...” I’m sure some lowlifes forget and try to get shitty with the company. Anyhoo!
  627.
  628. I learned something new and had to approach a stranger today so this is one day I won’t forget.

  632. This really creeped me out.. thinking about how I remember events in my life, but not specific days.. I am aware and alive and feeling right now but even tomorrow I will not be able to fully reconnect with this exact moment .. gives me such a disconnected sense, like I am only a piece of myself floating around in time and leaving 'dead' versions of me behind and oh God help.

  764. I will probably remember today. We wrote a maths test because most of my classmates didn't do the 2+ hour homework and understand the shittily explained lesson. When we finished the test, I kicked a table over and yelled a lotta swear words while she was still in the classroom. She said "instead of breaking stuff, you should go learn" as a reaction to my mental breakdown and left the classroom. Didn't get a detention since this is Romania and rules aren't as strict. But this event will most likely be remembered by my "pay up or screw off" teacher.

  768. I'm going to remember this day for the rest of my life. Basically I (m19) went to take home my little sister (4yold) from kindergarten and she started crying and laying on the floor in front of the teachers cause she didn't want me to take her home, as she wanted mum to go: but mum has an other little girl (1yold) and today she asked me to go. I've been taking her home for the past year but since september I never did: after the crying and screaming we started walking towards home and she acted extremly bad, she kept crying all the time and all the people on the street looked at me as if I was stealing a fucking child. I felt so bad (with other problems related to that little girl putting pressure on me) and when I entered home I was in tears in front of my mother and my 16yold sister and this has never happened in the last 6 years I think. I cried and I yelled "she is not my daughter, why am I taking this respondabilities, you should do this ecc". I still feel bad both because of how I yelled to my mom, whom I always treat with maximum respect, and cause of that little monster hating me and trating me as shit. I know that she is craving attention but this issue got me really hard, and I've been thinking about not ever having children of my own. Sry I just needed to write this somewhere
