Defending Liraz and speaking with Dani

[13:42] As soon as the mention of demons were had. A demon appeared! The girl would not know what a demon was those. Instead she would try to jump on its back. She could ride a horse, imagine flying a BAT! "Huehuhehueeeeeee Giddy up!" She giggled out.

[13:47] It would seem as though irony had struck. Just as he had finished warning Toki of the dangers of demons and witches, a foul entity arrives. His eyes linger on the behemoth of a bat creature. It was the first time he'd run into a demon, and frankly he was surprised.

"Well this is rather surprising," he'd comment, drawing his weapon. His guard was raised as caution becomes exercised. He knew not of its motives, let alone why it had chosen now to appear. What he did know was that he'd need to defend his fellow Hunter.

"Tess, I hope you've prepared yourself," said the magi.

Seeing the demon, his mind began to recall the conversation he had regarding Tonak. His head shakes, denying any involvement of witches within his bloodline. It was impossible, however if such claims were true, then now would perhaps be one of the best to determine the validity.

[13:51] Her eye would twitch at the sight of the Demon. The Bat demon again, and she snarled. They let it grow this large, why? Why did they let this happen? The air around her would already start to boil and pollute, waves of poisonous gas surrounding her form, her hand grasping on the hilt of her sword as she stared straight at the demon.

The Talk with Kiri earlier only made her want.. to hunt. And he was here now. She didn't even want to stop herself from fighting this time. She was too.. annoyed at everything. She already started to unsheathe her sword, even when on the other side she could See Revan.

"...Let me. Please."

[13:55] Tessa looks up the stairs smiling at the girl, however her smile would wane as a lurching darkness approached. The silhouette of a massive Demon would cover the area before the horrid Bat emerged.

"What the--"
She immediately grips the handle of her whip, ready to strike the fiend that was looming dangerously close to the child. Looking to Diedrich, Tess would nod as he urged the Felinae to ready herself.

"I'm so tired of these things walking around all casual..."
The woman sighs, feeling having to dispatch the Demon to be a chore. However, another would approach to try to take the initiative.

If he wanted to have at the Bat, then Tessa would not interfere. However her eyes remain locked onto Toki who seemed intent on riding the beast.

Tess grips her weapon tightly.
"...Toki. Please get away from that thing."

[13:56] Pursuing a missing person that Fenes had given him, he knew just the people he needed to speak to. He thought about taking the long way around to Theria, but instead took the much shorter route- this would be a mistake.

Spying as the bat demon he had spoken to in the Swamp was seemingly surrounded by all sides, Revan couldn't ignore his guild mate ready for an attack behind him.

Think. Think. Think.

"I wouldn't do that, Fenes." One he knew she would likely be outmatched, and he did not want to have to see her get hurt if he could avoid it, but he also didn't want to find himself in a situation where he would be dragged into a confrontation here.

"That demon is bound to someone very close to Orca.. It is why she hasn't hunted him yet.. Anything you do to it will appear on her friend as well.. So.. For your mother's sake.. I would stand down."

It was the truth, something that Orca and him had discussed already, he could only hope it would be enough for her to sheathe her blade.

[13:59] The Demon is suddenly jumped on, and he watches in slight surprise the child trying to get on it's back. Immediately, he reached forward and grabbed her by the back of her clothes with it's mouth while hearing to the surroundings with sharp eyes.

He puts the child in front of it and gently pushes her forward with a clawed finger. She couldn't stay on it's back when it would probably fight someone.

"Leave... you'll get in the way..."

The Demon looks at Revan... and then at Fenes. In the past, it would have spouted a certain truth that would definetly start a fight, but it simply shook it's head and continued.

When passing by the Task, a nod would be offered towards them as it would continue to make it's way out of the are unless attacked.

[14:07] The unassuming girl would get quite the shock. The bat talked! Not only that but it would put it in its mouth. The girl would start to panic before getting put down and pushed gently away from the bat. Quickly she would run over to Tessa.


"That's no bat! Why did it talk!" She gasped out, before hiding behind her.

[14:10] Why shouldn't she do that? the eyes would move away from the bat towards Revan, snarling for the moment as her eyes came back on the demon, the Ookami was already about to jump on the demon, before she heard Revan mention Orca. She stopped in her tracks, Staring at the bat.

Someone was.. bound to this demon? To someone Close to Orca? Why? Why would someone do something so stupid? The grip on the sword would tighten, the claws even digging into the wooden hilt as she tried to consider her options. She didn't want to hurt orca. or someone close to her.
"...Damnit.", her eyes would shift to Revan, sheathing the blade and the air around her settling down- Poison wasn't around here anymore.

"Why? Why would someone...?"

She'd look at Revan, her fists clenching- enough for her claws to pierce her palm and bleed. Why? Why would someone do that? The hunt. She wanted to hunt these damn demons... But this one.. She couldn't hurt? She couldn't attack it, not if Orca or her 'close friend' would be hurt if she does.

"Idiots... So many idiots..."

[14:10] As Alessandra Toki runs over, Tessa shields her by throwing an arm out.
"Make sure to stay back."

She steps slightly in front of Toki as her arm remain outstretched with the opposite hand on the whip, charging vibrations of sound magic throughout the length of the weapon.

"...Bats don't talk, but Demons do. Never forget that."
A glance would be given to the men that approached, and while it seemed that harming the Demon would have some repercussion Tessa knew that this only gave the Bat an edge.

The Felinae remained ready to defend the people nearby if the Demon decided to struck. She didn't care about Orca or special bonds. Tessa was determined to make sure the Demon didn't try anything funny.

[14:17] Like a hungry wolf, Diedrich was ready to pounce and sink his teeth into the demon. He was not alone in this regard, yet with the arrival of Revan, the desire to combat the demon was put on hold. He groans in annoyance at the revelation that this denizen of the abyss was bound to someone. The nature of the connection was unknown to him, however from the way Revan spoke, it came off as a one to one bond. If they'd attack, then chances are the other individual would also suffer the same wounds.

Having no choice, he takes a quick glance to the son of Dun. "Do you know of a means to sever this connection?" He'd ask, still holding his guard up. Just because they couldn't defeat the demon without drawbacks, it didn't mean that the demon couldn't attack them.

This was perhaps one of the worst situations to be in. A worthy trophy lay before him, but due to circumstances he'd be unable to snatch it away.

[14:23] Blood pressure was rising, his heart was thumping in his chest. There were so many little pieces at play here, and he could not let any slip up. Details he had heard from Orca would be his greatest tool, though more and more people would gather.. More things to go wrong.

He would squint towards Danica as she watched in amusement, then Lilith as she stood by his side. He wouldn't be able to breathe in relief until Fenes had stood down, and Dietrich had directed a question at him.

His eyes would focus on the beast of a bat, watching him as he let them be. Another deep breath before he would answer.

"I have.. No idea.. I am not sure if it is.. A contract of some sort.. or if it is something he has to agree to let go.. I need to gather more information."

His head would then turn to Danica, "I was just about to look for you.. How.. Serendipitous.. Lilly, Fenes.. I will see you both at the guild hall later."

Revan had one crutch tucked under his arm, opposite the mithril pegleg that he just had affixed.

Danica states with a sigh, as she sits herself down onto a stool in front of the table. Those purple hues lift to Revan, her head tilting to the side. A knowing expression given.

"Explain."

[14:35] Hobbling behind the Lady of Nightmares, Revan would find himself in a private chamber of their base, setting his crutch in the corner, he would settle into the chair across from her. There was a sour expression on his face, though the situation had the best outcome, something didn't sit right with him.

"I had some things I wished to discuss with you.. So I was heading here to the base.. When is tumbled upon the scene myself.. I can only.. Assume that Liraz was stopped by the man in the red coat.. And the girl.. It sounded as if he was her mentor.. But as I approached.. My guild member appeared behind him.. Wishing to attack him."

There would be a click of his tongue, accenting not only his frustration, but the precarious position he found himself in. "My guild has a.. Particuliar vendetta against.. Liraz.. Since I initially found him in the swamps.. So they have set their sights on hunting him in particular.. However.. I believe he made a bond with.. Caleb?"

He'd ask with a cant of his head, making sure he had the details correct. "Orca told me she could not harm Liraz because of it.. And Orca adopted both Lilith and Fenes.. So I used that as leverage to pacify the situation.. I.. Wasn't sure if it would work.. But.. I was.. prepared to intercept her.. Should she have attacked."

Revan would lift his mithril appendage, stretching and rotating it as he tested to see if he felt like he could've parried her sword with it.

"That's when you walked up.. "

[14:44] "I see."

Danica says simply, those purple hues unwavering from Revan's face. She'd never questioned Revan's loyalty. However now? She was unsure. His participation in another guild seemed to triumph his activity in hers, and now with this? She wasn't sure if his other guild attempting to kill one of her own, looked so good for him right now.

He's have to choose a side, and since Liraz wasn't attacked?...She'd never know what Revan would have actually done, had they attacked...But she would give him the benefit of the doubt. He hadn't wronged her thus far...

But his peculiar activity in the opposing guild worried her.

"They either stop 'untin' my demon o' they die. Simple." It's said simply, as she leans back to straighten her posture. All business. Control.

"I can easily take down Fenes, given our spar earlier. She is quite weak." She would take interest in his reaction to that.

"'owever…" She said softly, sighing. "I'd much prefer them ta' b' my ally, rather than my enemy...But I aint' think we 'ave tha' same goals..Which brings me to my next point..."

A pause.

"Where do ye' loyalties lie, Revan? When it comes down to it."

[14:45] Danica Drugovic says, "Also- they do 'ave a bond. I aint' kno' 'ow ta' break it."
[15:00] He wasn't sure what to expect from this exchange, though he hoped having diffused the situation without violence was something that would've impressed the Shadow leader.

Evidently it did not.

With each sentence she spoke, he would find his thumb resting on the first joint of a finger, letting it pop. His expression would remain stoic, her order that they stop hunting the demons or death would follow, he would nod.

"Understood."

His eyes studying her posture, though his gaze would never truly break from her own. The spirits that tormented his mind would whisper. You will fail. This is your end. A deep breath to steady himself, as Danica says she could take Fenes down with ease, calling her weak, he would click his tongue, acknowledging it.

"I know."

At one point she was one of the strongest of their guild, but she had been lagging behind, or perhaps the other had simply caught up and it discouraged her? He wasn't entirely sure which was the case, however, hearing that she wanted to make them allies, his lips would press into a line.

"I am.. Not sure if that will be possible.. They.. Seem to have held onto a negative perception of The Boogeymen.. However.. I may be able to sway them into no longer hunting the demons." He would say, finding himself stopped by her next question. It was then his gaze would break, giving him a moment to think as he listed his priorities, individuals.

"I will not lie to you.. I care not about factions or guilds.. But individuals.. That is where my loyalty lies." It was likely not the answer she wanted to hear, but before she could respond, he would further elaborate.

"I am here because I saw your power, and I saw the opportunities that could be present. I am loyal to you, and Deimos.. And I favor Liraz quite a bit.. I look out for others of The Nightbound because that is what you ask for me.. But I don't care what becomes of them.. Just as there are only a handful of members in The Dragon's Tooth I only care about.. The rest are just pawns for me to use." His gaze would return to meet hers, studying her reaction.

"I have more to offer you. You've seen how my mind works.. The thoughts I have.. Plans I could put into motion.. I have.. One that could get back at the witches.. I just.. Need to infiltrate them.. if that is.. Something that interests you."

[15:23] Normally violence would have been something Danica would have been happy to avoid. However, when it came to her demons? Not so much. Her demons were powerful creatures, and great assets to have amongst her ranks. Even as allies. Just as Revan used others as pawns- so did Lady Nightmare.

And she had plans, which her demons needed to remain alive for.

"Tha' is wha' troubles me. They 'ave no reason ta' 'ave such a perception. 'ave I done anythin' of importance, yet? 'ave I made power moves?..." She lifts a brow in his direction. The ignorance that surrounded her in the form of guilds, surprised her. Led with such a blindness, and eagerness to fail.

Power moves took time to plan. Gathering forces, was important. It was something Danica had been working on. Her plans would lead them all to death if they weren't strong enough.

Listening to his words about not caring? She smirked.

"We are similar then. 'owever, I brought this guild up from nothin'. I take pride in tha', an' I like ta' protect wha' I consider soley my property. If they 'ave use? They are in my guild." An emotionless gaze, as she drifted it back to Revan's face.

Either way, she seemed pleased with his answers.

"Their use is the only thin' keepin' em' protected. They stop bein' useful? I eliminate them." It's simple, yet honest. Lady Nightmare didn't feel the need to lie for no good reason.

Her eyebrow rose at the notion of infiltrating the witches.

"I 'ave already begun tha' feat. I 'ave a mimic roamin' round'- tha' wants ta' break free from tha' chains tha' bind him ta' Nox."

A thoughtful pause, cautious about how much she shouldreveal.

"I plan ta' set up a meetin' with tha' witches soon...'owever, I 'ave an old fish to fry first."

She tilts her head at Revan.

"Nysea an' their lands- I want em'."

King Alexanders death was implied.

[15:40] There would be a shake of his head. "No.. They simply fear that which they don't understand.. We have no.. political leanings.. However.. They see demons as monsters, and anything that might impede on a settlement.. They wish to remove.. It was.. One of the things we founded the guild on.. However.."

He would pause, tapping a finger against the table as he thought about his next words carefully. "I.. believe I can get them to cease.. I need them to stop hunting demons anyway.."

They were each playing an elaborate game of chess, seeing how the pieces moved across the board was not a gift many possessed. However, Danica and Revan? They were fully on the same page. Hearing how she called the members of The Nightbound her property would bring a smirk to his face.

"Funny.. I've said the same about the members of The Dragon's tooth.. Very well.. I will put more care into the members of The Nightbound.. Protect them where I can, cover them should they get into trouble.. Just as I did for Liraz.. I would've stepped in to defend him, should someone make a move.. And if he ordered me to fight by his side.. I would have.. He does outrank me, afterall." He had memorized the rankings she set, and he planned on adhering to it.

Hearing of the meeting with the Witches, how she had already begun making moves, he would quirk his brow. "I see.. I wish to attend.. if you would allow me.. Though a lone mimic will not make much of a difference on his own." Revan's smirk would begin to grow, sharing pieces of his own plan to her.

"The witches now are outnumbered.. if they're willing to speak with us.. Then they're looking for allies.. Their strength comes from their demons and army of mimics.. But.. What power do they hold without that?" He would let the words hang in the air, letting her imagination run with what he was proposing.

Though the comment about Nysea would cause him to frown. "That's going to be.. Somewhat difficult.. Given that.. There is nobility.. Someone to always take the place of another." He caught on to the implication, wondering if this would be a mission she would place on him.

[15:53] "I believe ye'." And she did, for the most part. Though she didn't think he would hesitate to kill one of her demons, if it benefitted him. He'd already stated he didn't care much about guilds, just loyalties to people. Revan had no loyalty to her demons....Though maybe, just maybe, they would benefit him in the long run as well.

"Ye' can come, sure. I obviously aint' goin' ta' go alone. I jus' 'ave ta' set tha' meetin' up with tha' mimic, an' ask 'im ta' ask 'er." It was risky, she knew this....But change would never come without risk.

Change for the better. Change for Esshar.

"Hm, s'pose ye' right bout tha'....Perhaps I will make meetin' tha' witches my first priority. Could b' useful in an' attack as well....If I am promised land, it could b' a give an' take kinda thin'.."

She looked thoughtful again, though she wasn't sure how others in the nightbound would take this. So perhaps she would just keep it entirely on the down low for now.

"I will let ye' know when I 'ave tha' meetin' set up. I must find my mimic."

[15:59] There would be a nod of his head, it seemed there were a lot of eyes on Nysea, a large target on it's back. Though he would delight in seeing it burn- or perhaps seeing it turn into something more sinister. It was corrupted, but not the favorable sort that Saranta reveled in, it was decaying with stagnation. It was time to shake things up.

"Very well, Lady Nightmare.. I look forward to it.. And.. Perhaps our demon's ranks will only grow, the more we interact with the witches."

We would offer a wink, alluding more to the plan he had in mind. If she thought he was an enemy of demons himself, he hoped that would wash away any doubt. He knew how they thought, it was how he thought, and clearly how Danica thought as well.

Two demons parading as mortals.

"I will.. Begin reaching out.. getting a feel for the situation in Nysea.. I've held my head from politics this long to focus on my own training and strength.. However.. I suppose it is time I start making moves."

Speaking of moves, he would be reminded of why he originally came. "oh.. Also.. I found a request for a missing person." Throwing the paper over she would without a doubt recognize the face.

"Did he.. Cease being useful? Or has he gone into hiding?" Revan would ask with a cant of his head.

She stated simply, though her expression was thoughtful. Anytime anyone met with the witches, it would be a risk. Walking into her territory would either be very bad, or really good....Danica was willing to take that chance for power.

Seeing the missing poster, she would pinch the bridge of her nose.

"'e made these 'imself….Somethin' bout' some trouble 'e ran inta' in Nysea…"

She sighs heavily.

"I aint' understand 'ow someone can b' so smart...Yet such a...Dumb ass.."

She huffed.

"Ignore it- 'e's fine."

[16:12] A nod would be given understandingly, everything came at a cost. When she had met him originally, he was very weak, thirsting for power. He had gradually gained more, but not nearly enough. With his recent injuries, he wondered how far back he would be set. Yet this wouldn't deter him, he may have had spirits undermining his thoughts, but he would triumph over them soon enough.

Revan's mind and body would prevail, overcome the adversities he faced. Gauging her reactions, he would tilt his head as she looked over the paper. He would grimace deeply hearing it was all a ruse.

".. What a fool.. He's only drawing more attention to himself.."

Fenes had found the paper, they thought it would be an easy job. How upsetting. Revan would then rise, tucking his crutch under his arm.

"Very well.. I believe I have much to do now.. Thank you for your time, Lady Nightmare.. I will.. Make you proud." He was genuine, it was hard to find those that thought like him, and while there were tensions initially, he enjoyed the conversation.

"I know it has been some time since I paid my dues.. but.. This is for the guild." He would drop a bag of five thousand gold on the table, bowing his head before hobbling out of the room.
