- Benefits:
- * You never need to sharpen your weapon
- * Does not suffer any penalty from hot or cold (you do not need hot/cold drinks)
- * Infinite stamina (infinite running, evading, attacking, climbing up walls, etc.)
- * Can dash while weapon is drawn
- * All Palicos can block (this does not consume sharpness or stamina)
- * All Palicos have both melee (claws) and ranged (boomerang) attacks
- * You can do mounting attacks (off of a ledge) with your weapon drawn
- * Boomerangs never bounce, even on hard shells or with low sharpness
- * Can shoot two boomerangs at once
- * Boomerangs can be charged for more damage, and if the first boomerang is charged, the second will be charged too
- * Boomerang charging is extremely fast, much faster than bow or hammer charging
- * While charging the boomerang, you can hold the circle pad to aim in any direction, even behind yourself (toward the camera)
- * When firing two boomerangs, each boomerang can be aimed separately (e.g. shoot the first boomerang in front of you, and the second boomerang to the right of you)
- * Boomerangs can hit a monster while the boomerang is moving away from the Palico, and it can hit a second time when the boomerang moves back to the Palico
- * There is a Piercing Boomerang Palico Skill which causes the boomerang to pierce, hitting the monster 1-3 times
- * Pierce boomerang is great for elemental: the first hit does 1.5x elemental damage, and the second and third hit do 0.5x elemental damage
- * Pierce boomerang is *excellent* for status: because it hits 3 times, it's very likely to apply the status
- * If using a Blunt weapon, you can stun/exhaust monsters by hitting their head with either melee attacks or the boomerang
- * It's extremely easy to hit the head with a piercing blunt boomerang, for lots of KO damage!
- * If using a Cutting weapon, you can cut tails with either melee attacks or the boomerang
- * Can burrow underground, causing the monster to no longer target you (can be used to evade big attacks, and can be used to heal)
- * Can side dodge 3 times in a row (similar to Light Bowgun, but better)
- * Has infinite bug nets and pick axes
- * Gathers faster than a human
- * Can use Palico abilities while weapon is drawn (similar to Sword and Shield, it uses R+Y)
- * Has 2 acorns (even better than Felyne Moxie), and can gain infinite acorns by sleeping on the bed
- * Cannot use items, which means more inventory space for loot
- * Palico skills can do things similar to items: there is a skill for bombs, healing, dung bombs, traps, removing poison, etc.
- * Rather than being consumable like items, you can use Palico skills an infinite number of times, because it uses a mana system (the mana recharges over time, or when you do things like attacking a monster, gathering items, etc.)
- * Palico weapons/armor is much easier to craft than the equivalent human weapon/armor
- * Only need to craft 2 armor pieces rather than 5
- * Armor skills don't exist: the only thing that matters is defense and elemental resistance
- * It's easy to swap to different armor depending on the element of the monster that you're fighting, without losing any of your Prowler skills
- * Palicos can *always* see where the monster is on the map (permanent paintball/psychic), even at the start of the mission
- * Infinite tranq bombs that cost nothing (press A while next to the monster while your weapon is sheathed)
- * Certain status ailments do not affect Palicos (stench, iceblight, etc.)
- ----
- Downsides:
- * Cannot use items (but can use Palico skills for a similar effect)
- * Have to use RNG to find a Palico with good skills (or trade another player for a good Palico)
- * Blastblight requires 6 dodges to remove, rather than the usual 3
- * Fireblight requires 5 dodges to remove, rather than the usual 3 (it's still 1 dodge in water to remove)
