  4.
  5. Greetings,
  6.
  7. As has been widely reported in the media, I, Fredrick Brennan, (@HW_BEAT_THAT), created 8chan in 2013.
  8.
  9. I created the @infinitechan account originally. I am now requesting that Twitter de-verify the @infinitechan account, or at least not allow @infinitechan to change its name from "8chan (8ch.net)" to "8kun" (or similar), nor its handle.
  10.
  11. We have here a simple problem of identity. The @infinitechan account changed hands without a contract, as did 8chan itself. As has been documented elsewhere, e.g. by myself on Pastebin[1], in January 2015 8chan temporarily moved from 8chan.co to 8ch.net due to a temporary suspension of 8chan.co by its registrar, Internet.BS. This temporary move would later become permanent, but it was never meant to be permanent. This action proved the final transfer of ownership over 8chan, that is to say, 8chan became wholly owned by N. T. Technology (Jim Watkins) after this point.
  12.
  13. What I ask Twitter's verification team to consider, is that 8chan no longer exists. According to @infinitechan itself, it is shutting down.[2] According to NT Technology's president, Tom Reidel, 8chan is defunct.[3]
  14.
  15. The new site will be called "8kun".
  16.
  17. As 8chan no longer exists, it is then a worthy question, how can a defunct property be verified? I feel that I have as much right to be verified as the true "8chan" as anyone else. To give one 8chan-identified personality a verification checkmark gives an unjust advantage to one representative of a defunct brand (that is to say, NT Technology) and injures the other representative (that is to say, me). For in the public consciousness, I represent 8chan, "like it or lump it", regardless of disavowals or status in any corporation.
  18.
  19. As the verification of @infinitechan was apparently based on verifying the account as owning the domain 8ch.net, it would be wholly improper to allow the account to rename itself to "8kun" without a brand new verification process. After all, is not "8kun" a new imageboard, unrelated to "8chan"? Or, at least, is that not what NT Technology and Is It Wet Yet, Inc expect the public to believe? (The owners must have a low view of the public's intelligence.)
  20.
  21. I would further add that I believe the @infinitechan to have engaged in "inciting or engaging in harassment of others" and "promoting hate and/or violence against, or directly attacking or threatening other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or disease. Supporting organizations or individuals that promote the above," which as per the "Verified account FAQs" are not allowed. I will however leave this up to the esteemed body I address to decide.
  22.
  23. Best,
  24. Fred Brennan
