- Summary:
- When Ben Kuchera wrote the article "The year of GamerGate: The worst of gaming culture gets a movement" on the Polygon website, he opened with the claim that "GamerGate began as an attempt to shame and harass a female developer". Not only this, but that text is also one of the purple bold stand-out quotes as well within the article. He failed to mention that he was financially supporting said developer, Zoe Quinn, at the time through Patreon.
- Evidence the developer referenced is "Zoe Quinn":
- Yes, I know, this is beyond obvious but it still needs to be done. Here is an article from 2015 referencing this claim. https://archive.is/W7liw#selection-1611.0-1611.413 . It can also be verified simply through a search for various videos referencing "Five Guys Burgers and Fries" that the developer Ben Kuchera references is Quinn.
