  18. Price Transfer Inc. - My Experience Interning
  19.
  20. "Customer Service is our Business. Customer Satisfaction is out Goal."
  21.
  22. Founded in 1934, Price Transfer Inc. originally started as a small business ran under one family. As of today, it has expanded into being that largest custom facilities in the U.S. The company currently specializes in trucking, transportation, and CES (examination of transported goods). Basically, Price Transfer is responsible for almost everything you see in stores; iPhones, books, food--you name it.

  24. Being an intern there over the summer, I found that the company actually had a "story" behind what it's name gives. There was always something new everyday. Some days, people could have lots of time, have the music on, and just socialize. Other days, people could be busy, easily aggravated, and have no time to talk at all. Sometimes, birthday and retirement parties were held where employees from all around the company would relax and have a good time. It was just like being in one big family! There wasn't a day that you'd call "normal."
  25.
  26. As for the opportunity to have an internship there, I can proudly say I learned a lot more than just workforce experience. I learned a lot about people, the environment around me, and how they're similar. I seen people at my work, some of which have been through worst times in their lives, still managing to smile and being able to create positive vibes. Meanwhile, the world around them can be completely oblivious to their personal life and whatever goes on in it. I also understood how the international trade businesses around L.A. work; their purposes, what they do, and how they correlate towards one another. I understood how most of the stuff we see being sold in stores once went through companies like the ones we see everyday on the way to work or school everyday; like the buildings in Carson; like Price Transfer. You know, it's funny, because you live all your life in Los Angeles seeing containers and massive trucks all over the place, not knowing what they're used for until you finally join one of the businesses that work directly with them. And that's just like how I interpreted people at my work.
  27.
  28. I guess this is what they called "judging a book by its cover." In life, you meet lots of people--strangers everyday at school, work, anywhere; some acting reserved, others acting at extremes. Often times, we tend to misjudge them based on their personalities and physical appearances in life. Little do we know, there's actually a "story" behind why they act the way they do.

  41. I also learned that to be successful in the industry and anywhere else, you'd have to be confident and aggressive. Whether being a leader, helping others, or being the best you can, you should always strive towards your ambitions.
