  1. Lacking a witty room description, the Middle of Nowhere is pretty damn empty.
  2. Contents:
  3. Snapdragon
  4. Mode
  5. Padma
  6. Tourist
  7. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "We released Wythor's last WM spell last night. This involved removing half the code and adjusting most of the messaging for the other half."
  8. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "Hooray pre-emptive purging."
  9. <<OOC>> Padma says, "Why must you hate his creative vision?"
  10. <<OOC>> Mode says, "So, any questions/comments before we begin?"
  11. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "I'm sorry, but a wind that is powerful enough to murder you isn't going to be a quiet, invisible force."
  12. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "Uh.. let me see if I was going to make any purchases."
  13. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "No, I think I'm good!"
  14. <<OOC>> Padma says, "Aren't we still doing Operation Blow Shit Up today?"
  15. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "Well, Thoth and Snap are. Padma and Tourist are doing Operation Go Get Paid."
  16. <<OOC>> Mode says, "padma: Indeed. Last I heard, the decision I heard was "We did not come all the way the fuck out here for nothing, we are STEALING that damn chopper!""
  17. <<OOC>> Padma says, "Oh okay, I'm okay with Getting Paid too."
  18. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "The last I heard the plan was that Thoth and Snap physically are going into the building to get the chopper (if it's still there, we're checking first)"
  19. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "Tourist and Padma were sailing off and Tourist was going to project to join Thoth and Snap to provide backup of some sort."
  20. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "Does that match with what other people remember?"
  21. <<OOC>> Thoth says, "Sounds about right"
  22. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "Tourist wasn't planning to project anything."
  23. Session: The Princess is in another castle
  24.
  25. The team sits outside a sealed airlock. Having spotted the outline of the helicopter on the roof as they approached, they are quite confident it is still there. A 9 foot tall aztec warrior in a full head dress and a massive obsidian sword sits in their boat with them, concealing them from those who would do them harm. On the comms, four hackers are tripping balls.
  26. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "He was sending a spirit to help you."
  27. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "Just as good!"
  28. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "Better, really."
  29. Snapdragon does a last check of his weapons and armor and adjusts his breathing apparatus on the chemical suit. He makes sure his Ares is set for short bursts. "Okay, I think we're ready to go, Thoth. Have them let us in."
  30. You say, "Leo, can you get this airlock open and find us keys to the helicopter?"
  31. Born Free says, "Leo, if they don't need your support you need to get the fuck down here!"
  32. Leo says, "Sounds good. Thoth, have you ever rigged an arcology before no it doesn't matter, just do it!"
  33. You say, "Rigged an arcology? What the fuck?"
  34. You say, "We don't need that much access."
  35. Mode pages: Thoth gets a sudden signal over his comms: the passcodes to the arcology's network. It sounds like he's about to become a security rigger.
  36. Thoth blinks. "Well."
  37. Thoth jumps in.
  38. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Thoth, intuition+logic"
  39. [ Thoth rolls 11d6: 1 4 6 1 4 2 6 1 6 1 6 ]
  40. Snapdragon messages, "Uh.. what's going on?"
  41. As the others can see, Thoth abruptly loses conciousness.
  42. Snapdragon attempts to make Thoth land somewhat lightly and put him in a comfortable position.
  43. Padma says, "Something fun, obviously!"
  44. Mode pages: Thoth's entire body becomes electric and mind almost splits asunder as he feels and sees a thousand sensations in a single instant. Hundreds of visualizations of cameras flood his vision, everywhere he looks is another perspective. and yet, he understands. He understands that he is currently rigging a sensor network so vastly superior to anything he has ever handled before that he feels a twinge of sadness. He senses that he could...open doors. Look in cameras. Rig the assault cannons or missile launchers. Turn off the facility's cold fusion reactor. Move the tram. Release gas. Close doors.
  45. Mode pages: Scan the outside for enemy's. a lot of things, actually.
  46. Tourist zones out for a brief moment, communing with the realm of gods and spirits and such rot. Afterward, he asks, "Is our friend Thoth unconscious, or focusing on the Matrix?"
  47. Snapdragon takes a look over the troll, trying to figure it out.
  48. You paged Mode with 'First we'll see if we can find anyone conscious inside the building. And access to the group's comm channel.'
  49. Mode pages: Roll a perception test.
  50. Mode pages: and yeah, he can totally still message evreyone else.
  51. You paged Mode with 'That's perc+int right?'
  52. Mode pages: Yes.
  53. <<OOC>> Mode says, "snap: roll logic+first aid"
  54. [ Thoth rolls 10d6: 4 2 1 2 4 4 1 3 4 3 ]
  55. [ Snapdragon rolls 5d6: 3 6 2 3 5 ]
  56. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "Consroller loves Thoth."
  57. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "Consroller loves you all."
  58. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "And wants to keep you. Forever."
  59. Mode pages: ERROR BREAK WHAT IS THIS - Thoth overloads for a moment, barely able the constant sensations flooding his body. He feels the constant twinges of...all over the station, people are opening doors and moving around and activating motion sensors and OH GOD
  60. Snapdragon says, "He looks fine, so it's the Matrix."
  61. Thoth messages, "I'm dizzy. There are still a bunch of people moving around inside. Um. Hold on, let me see if I can figure out how to get from here to the helicopter."
  62. Mode pages: It occurs to Thoth that getting to the helicopter while rigging an arcology will be a real trick.
  63. You paged Mode with 'We will try for something nice and harmless, like a map. And possibly an owner's manual and key codes for the helicopter.'
  64. Mode pages: Roll logic+...computer?
  65. Mode pages: or data search
  66. [ Thoth rolls 10d6: 4 4 1 1 6 2 1 2 6 5 ]
  67. Mode pages: He found a map of the facility and indeed, can easily pin-point the party's location outside the facility with its fancy outdoor sensors since he knows where he was and the like. He has no luck with the other things - he gets a feeling they use a lot of 'on the job training'.
  68. Thoth messages, "Leo, I can't find helicopter keys. Give me a hand with this?"
  69. You paged Mode with 'Next search, are there any handy drones he could use to move his body to the helicopter without having to jump out?'
  70. Leo says, "I'M A LITTLE BUSY HERE"
  71. Red Winter says, "These guys are way good, look at how they flow through-"
  72. Born Free says, "That's not flow."
  73. Weight says, "No man, they move through the water like fish, like bright rainbow clown fish. We're like fucking whales man, fucking whales before pirahnas!"
  74. Mode pages: Roll perception.
  75. [ Thoth rolls 10d6: 4 1 4 5 2 4 3 5 3 4 ]
  76. Padma leans back in the boat and stares up. "Thoth, try not to bite it before you get us our payload, alright sweetie?"
  77. Mode pages: He detects a few flat drones on the loading floor that he could be set on and moved around on by the friendly drone AI.
  78. Thoth messages, "I'm fine, just a little disoriented. I think I found a way to get myself to the helicopter, we just need to come up with keys."
  79. Red Winter says, "He's right! We are so fucking fucked, so outclassed, we're going to be torn apart and end up on a beach somewhere for some scientists to look at the giant suckers that tore out our flesh!"
  80. Leo says, "Then you shouldn't have DRUGGED US you piece of injun techno-trash!"
  81. You paged Mode with 'We'll send one of those to the airlock, and maybe a security drone or two if there are any handy. And take a look at the security control room, see what's still moving in there.'
  82. Mode pages: Roll perception test.
  83. [ Thoth rolls 10d6: 4 1 1 6 3 5 3 1 6 5 ]
  84. Tourist messages, "If our hacker friends are having trouble, then we either need to leave this place soon, or make our way toward the helicopter soon."
  85. [ Padma rolls 12d6: 6 4 6 4 4 6 5 3 4 4 5 3 ]
  86. Mode pages: No security drones, it's all physical metahuman security. He can't find any...cameras for the control room. Or sensors at all. Huh.
  87. Padma messages, "Boys, would you mind terribly simmering the everliving fuck down before you get all of us killed? You're getting paid here. Keep your eyes on the money."
  88. Tourist says verbally, "In hindsight, we should have made their pay contingent on getting the helicopter."
  89. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "Haven't we only paid them like half anyway?"
  90. The comms go quiet for a moment.
  91. Red Winter says, "She's right, we need to KILL the SHIT out of them!"
  92. Weight says, "YEAH! We're like hitmen, we're going to fuck them up!"

  106. The Middle of Nowhere(#0RL)
  107. Lacking a witty room description, the Middle of Nowhere is pretty damn empty.
  108. Contents:
  109. Snapdragon
  110. Mode
  111. Padma
  112. Tourist
  113. Snapdragon just looks calm and impassive, watching the area around them.
  114. MAIL: Mailbox purged.
  115. Thoth messages, "There are no sensors in the control room, so if we want to do anything else here we should probably get Snap to it and have him shoot whoever's inside. Snap, want to try it or bail?"
  116. Padma massages her temple. "Yes. Exactly. You don't want to go down to a few scrubs like that. Now if you get a moment, could you help Thoth with the helicopter situation?"
  117. <<OOC>> Padma says, "Grabbing dinner here, brb."
  118. <<OOC>> Mode says, "snap: You paid half their fee up front. They have arguably completed the job (find 'the girl' and get her out of the facility). Whether attempting to renegotiate now or attempt to not pay them later is wise is something to dwell on."
  119. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "Oh I'm just saying if they die we don't lose out as much!"
  120. Mode pages: The 'control room' is literally at the bottom of the ocean several hundred feet of elevator shaft down. You are currently at sea level.
  121. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "Snap wouldn't not pay them, he just wouldn't shed too many tears if they died."
  122. Thoth messages, "Well, that or we wait for our hackers to get it together."
  123. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Thoth, roll logic+medicine"
  124. [ Thoth rolls 11d6: 2 3 3 6 3 5 1 2 3 6 1 ]
  125. Snapdragon messages, "I'm fine to shoot pretty much whatever's inside.. if you think you can jury-rig a solution when we get there?"
  126. Mode pages: They are going to be tripping balls for the rest of the night. They might very well still be tripping at sunset tomorrow.
  127. Thoth messages, "Eh, it's probably not worth the time. Hold on, I'm going to see if I can find the pilot."
  128. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Thoth, perception test."
  129. [ Thoth rolls 10d6: 2 1 4 4 6 4 1 5 5 1 ]
  130. Mode pages: Records indicate there are two pilots and...both are unconscious and thoroughly gassed on the security quarters a couple floors down.
  131. Mode pages: It occurs to Thoth that if only someone had thought to bring an electronics toolkit, they wouldn't HAVE to 'find the keys'. Too bad no one did, huh?
  132. Thoth messages, "Okay, two pilots. Both unconscious a couple floors down; much closer than security. I don't suppose you have an electronics toolkit on hand, Snap? Too much to hope for?"
  133. <<OOC>> Mode says, "As it turns out, no, no-one thought to bring an electronics toolkit in case they had to hack any locks open for any reason."
  134. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "I have my hardware kit, is that different?"
  135. <<OOC>> Mode says, "I am pretty sure I asked exactly what you were bringing last week and that was not on the list."
  136. <<OOC>> Mode says, "wait, you did"
  137. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Nevermind, crisis averted!"
  138. Snapdragon says, "Yes, I have my kit with me."
  139. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "You won't defend the precious helicopter that easily."
  140. Thoth messages, "Right, we'll just use that then. When the drone gets there, load my body on and I'll rejoin you once we get it to the helicopter."
  141. Thoth opens the airlock.
  142. Mode pages: While Thoth is fully aware of how to get to the roof (either go straight ahead and into the elevator, or go around the elevator and up the stairs on the far side away from them two floors), he is also aware that there are 12 guards on the floor they're on that they might have to go through, four teams of three guards each.
  143. Thoth messages, "There are 12 guards on the floor; I'll try to keep them away from our path, but I think they can open anything I can close. Can you work with those odds?"
  144. Snapdragon messages, "All twelve at once would be problematic. I'll be liberal with explosives if we need to, though."
  145. You paged Mode with 'How big is this floor?'
  146. Snapdragon loads up his Ares with a frag grenade.
  147. <<OOC>> Padma says, "Back."
  148. Tourist messages, "The spirit has been ordered to defend you, and I am sure friend Thoth can interfere with them, even if it is nothing permanent.'
  149. Snapdragon messages, "Let's try to keep it to small numbers and we'll make it through fine."
  150. GAME: Saving database. Game may freeze for a few moments.
  151. GAME: Save complete.
  152. Warning 'my-desc' for Thoth(#102PenA):
  153. player is missing description
  154. You paged Mode with 'And where are the guard groups now, relative to stairs and elevator paths?'
  155. Mode pages: For the moment, they are all rather tightly grouped either in or just leaving a room far from the airlock. Thoth knows that is the security room - they are or already did retrieve large air tanks.
  156. Mode pages: Looks like they are fanning out on patrol through the various crates and the outer corridors.
  157. Wraith has connected.
  158. <<OOC>> Wraith says, "Yo. Sorry I'm late."
  159. <<OOC>> Mode says, "hurray for friend Wraith!"
  160. <<OOC>> Padma says, "it'syou!"
  161. Thoth checks on the progress of his drone, and closes every door on the floor that it doesn't need to pass through. "They're all clumped up right now, near the security room. Hopefully we can avoid most of them."
  162. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Wraith: Hackers still tripping balls, but Thoth is now a security rigger, rigging the arcology. He just opened the airlock doors and they are about to start clearing dozen armed guards that may be standing between them and their precious attack helicopter."
  163. <<OOC>> Mode says, "A 9 foot aztec warrior is chilling in the boat."
  164. <<OOC>> Wraith says, "Is the aztec warrior's face painted?"
  165. Wraith checks the airlock entryway from the boat. "Hm. I take it we decided against climbing up onto the helipad from here?"
  166. Thoth messages, "I am, unfortunately, not an accomplished climber."
  167. <<OOC>> Mode says, "wraith: He is painted and in full head dress with a big obsidian-bladed THING."
  168. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "I am surprised that 'the future' doesn't have simple drones that can fly you around."
  169. Wraith briefly switches between his thermographic and low-light vision modes, before settling back into lowlight.
  170. <<OOC>> Mode says, "I don't think Shadowrun even has useful jetpacks."
  171. <<OOC>> Wraith says, "Can we just step into the airlock entryway?"
  172. <<OOC>> Thoth says, "Remember, lifting stuff in the world of the future is really hard."
  173. <<OOC>> Mode says, "wraith: sure can!"
  174. <<OOC>> Thoth says, "So, drone progress?"
  175. <<OOC>> Mode says, "For what?"
  176. <<OOC>> Wraith says, "So... for my own SA. We're at the outer airlock door. Inside is an airlock. Is the airlock door to the interior also open? How big is the airlock?"
  177. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Thoth, you open that one yet? As for size, I think I settled on about 3 meters wide."
  178. Wraith comms, "Thoth. Any camera coverage of this top floor?"
  179. <<OOC>> Thoth says, "Yes, doors between drone and the group are open, rest closed."
  180. <<OOC>> Mode says, "wraith: That is a yes."
  181. Thoth messages, "Yes. I can see most things that are not the control room."
  182. Wraith comms, "Anything I need to worry about shooting back at me when I go inside?"
  183. <<OOC>> Wraith says, "The plan is... get Thoth to the helo so he can fly it?"
  184. <<OOC>> Padma says, "Yes. The plan is get to the choppa."
  185. <<OOC>> Wraith says, "Since no Lydia... are we all going, then all coming back to the boat?"
  186. Thoth messages, "Not yet. 12 guards on the floor, operating in groups of 3. They're all just coming out of the security room with airtanks now."
  187. <<OOC>> Mode says, "wraith: Yeah, that's the plan. Before you logged in, padma and Tourist were just going to say 'bye' and leave Thoth and Snap to fight their way to the roof, then the two of them take the choppa out"
  188. <<OOC>> Wraith says, "Choppa only carries 2, right?"
  189. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Yes."
  190. <<OOC>> Wraith says, "Thoth: You completely mobile and still able to security-rig?"
  191. <<OOC>> Mode says, "I guess 3 if, like, Snap sits in Wraith's lap."
  192. <<OOC>> Mode says, "wraith: No, the Plan there is to load him into one of the handy loading drones and he'll be unconscious on the drone as it merrily transports him with the group."
  193. Mode pages: A trio of guards is following your chosen loading drone directly towards the group.
  194. <<OOC>> Wraith says, "Hmmm. The SMART choice is to wave to Snap & Thoth and let them Deal With It."
  195. <<OOC>> Wraith says, "Snap? Thoth? Because the ALTERNATE plan involves going with them, then CLIMBING BACK DOWN TO THE BOAT at the end. =P"
  196. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "If Wraith wants a guy in full body armor and weapons crushing his lap that's really his shoice."
  197. <<OOC>> Mode says, "OR DRAMATICALLY DIVING OFF THE ROOF!"
  198. <<OOC>> Wraith says, "And swimming home? ;)"
  199. Thoth messages, "Three guards following my drone. You want to take them out while it's just three, or shall I redirect and get a replacement drone?"
  200. Snapdragon messages, "Why don't we take them out while everyone's here, then let them get going."
  201. <<OOC>> Thoth says, "Or holding onto the helicopter's landing rail!"
  202. Snapdragon messages, "Unless Wraith has some sort of alternative exit plan for himself."
  203. Wraith comms, "Send them on a merry chase. And do whatever you can to slow 'em down. Wait a moment and send an elevator somewhere, force them to track that."
  204. Wraith comms, "I'll hold fort at the boat, in case things go to hell."
  205. Thoth directs the current drone towards the elevator, and orders the rest out of storage to randomly chosen spots on their floor, with one to the boat.
  206. <<OOC>> Mode says, "BONUS BP: A bonus BP for everyone who rolls initiative at least twice in this session."
  207. <<OOC>> Padma says, "Pfft."
  208. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Thoth, roll edge."
  209. <<OOC>> Thoth says, "You monster"
  210. [ Thoth rolls 1d6: 6 ]
  211. <<OOC>> Thoth says, "I love you too, consroller"
  212. <<OOC>> Mode says, "and everything went better than expected"
  213. Mode pages: The guards all stop with their guns at ready, pointing them around this way and that.
  214. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "Coincidentally, I do not have my sheet on this laptop."
  215. <<OOC>> Padma says, "This is why I uploaded mine."
  216. <<OOC>> Padma says, "SR on the go!"
  217. You paged Mode with 'All of them, or all of the ones following the first drone?'
  218. Mode pages: All of them. There is clearly some radio chatter going on that you are not privvy to.
  219. Mode pages: A trio is coming around the corner to the group now, completely ignoring the drone they were following.
  220. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Everyone Not Thoth, audio perception test"
  221. Thoth messages, "Three guards incoming. Get ready."
  222. [ Tourist rolls 8d6: 3 6 3 6 6 6 2 6 ]
  223. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "I did that one from memory!"
  224. [ Padma rolls 8d6: 5 6 4 4 6 2 4 1 ]
  225. [ Snapdragon rolls 8d6: 5 3 5 1 4 1 5 5 ]
  226. Thoth passes everyone the relevant camera feeds for tactical planning purposes.
  227. [ Mode rolls 8d6: 1 3 4 4 3 6 2 4 ]
  228. [ Mode rolls 8d6: 1 5 4 4 6 1 4 4 ]
  229. [ Mode rolls 8d6: 3 3 6 1 4 5 3 4 ]
  230. [ Wraith rolls 10d6: 1 5 4 1 5 3 4 3 5 4 ]
  231. Thoth messages, "Leo, are you guys still alive and if you get a free moment can you get us access to security's comm channel?"
  232. <<OOC>> Wraith says, "For reference... is there any useful cover in the room PAST the airlock? FIghting in an airlock sucks. =P"
  233. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Nope! As it turns out, from you to the next wall, there is literally nothing but smooth walls."
  234. <<OOC>> Mode says, "as in far wall"
  235. <<OOC>> Mode says, "which is about 10 meters away"
  236. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Make that 6"
  237. Wraith swaps magazines in his Ingram with one loaded with EX rounds.
  238. <<OOC>> Wraith says, "Are the guards far enough away that we can make it to the doorway they'd have to come through?"
  239. The three guards, seemingly alerted by something, drop into view from around the corner, two with shotguns at the ready, their faces invisible behind their security armor, belts of grenades at their waists and ammo in their carriers. One of them has a significant backpack unit and a nozzle in his hands. Flamethrower?
  240. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Initiative."
  241. <<OOC>> Wraith says, "Or... initiative. Sure! ;)"
  242. [ Snapdragon rolls 12d6: 1 2 5 5 5 5 2 6 5 3 2 4 ]
  243. [ Mode rolls 9d6: 6 1 2 4 2 5 2 4 5 ]

  248. <<OOC>> Wraith says, "15"
  249. [ Tourist rolls 8d6: 2 3 3 3 6 2 5 4 ]
  250. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "10. I think. Whatever, I never remember that roll."
  251. <<OOC>> Mode says, "That's correct, if 8d6 is your init (reaction+intuition)"
  252. [ Thoth rolls 13d6: 5 6 2 6 2 1 2 5 4 5 5 5 3 ]
  253. <<OOC>> Mode says, "The roll is almost a formality in most cases as adding your hits on (attribute+attribute) to (attribute+attribute) is just ... yeah."
  254. <<OOC>> Thoth says, "I can open doors really fast!"
  255. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "No, should've been 6d6."
  256. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "I can reroll if you wish."
  257. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Is that with your +recation from your improved init spell?"
  258. <<OOC>> Mode says, "or whatever."
  259. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "Did I mention I don't have my PDF files with me either? I rolled 8, because of this:"
  260. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "Initative: 6, 1 IP (8, 3 IP /w Force 3 Improved Reflexes active)"
  261. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "The meaning of this arcane formula will need to wait until I have my reference materials on hand."
  262. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "I thought you had Imp Ref 3 up"
  263. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "I have Improved Reflexes up."
  264. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Init order is Thoth, Snapdragon, Wraith, Chemical Guard, Shotgun Guard, Shotgun Guard, Tourist, and padma will almost certainly go last."
  265. <<OOC>> Padma says, "Just assume I go last because I always fucking do"
  266. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Thoth, roll a perception test."
  267. [ Thoth rolls 10d6: 6 3 1 2 2 3 3 6 1 6 ]
  268. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Snap, action?"
  269. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "They're all relatively close together, right?"
  270. Mode pages: Thoth feels...a tingle. He senses he should direct his attention to the exterior sensors, they are pickingup...something
  271. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Yes."

  545. [ Mode rolls 16d6: 2 3 1 2 3 4 1 2 1 3 4 1 4 5 6 5 ]
  546. <<OOC>> Wraith says, "Damage was 14P, -1 AP"
  547. The second guard catches a burst in the head and the inside of his helmet is full of blood, brains, and some skull fragments.
  548. Mode pages: Got it! You've got this sucker dead to rights! +4 dice on your gunnery tests to missile the SHIT out of that guy when he comes into range in a few seconds.
  549. [ Snapdragon rolls 9d6: 5 5 3 2 6 3 5 5 2 ]
  550. Snapdragon rips off a slap patch and applies it to his Hazmat suit in a flash, hopefully before enough gas got into his suit to cause him problems.
  551. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Combat over."
  552. Wraith slowly steps back out of cover, checking over the guards. "Clear."
  553. Snapdragon messages, "Are we still waiting for the drone long enough for Wraith to give the minor hit I took a look?"
  554. The Aztec warrior trundles over to Snapdragon and stands beside him.
  555. Wraith comms, "Best get going. Though with those Thunderbirds inbound, we'll need something to deal with them."
  556. Thoth passes along current guard locations, and checks on the boat-destined drone. "Patch yourself up, I've got the Thunderbirds covered."
  557. Mode pages: The tbirds will enter range in...uh, shit, fuck shadowrun speeds!
  558. You paged Mode with 'Indeed.'
  559. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "So, Mode, Touch spells. Does that need to be skin on skin contact, or is hazmat suit to hazmat suit acceptable?"
  560. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Hazmat to hazmat is OK."
  561. Snapdragon will hand Wraith his medkit if he doesn't have one already, "It didn't get through armor, I think you're a little better at this than I am though."
  562. <<OOC>> Mode says, "I believe touch spells explicitly work even if you just touch someone's armor."
  563. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "Oh, wait, he got stun damage. Nevermind."
  564. <<OOC>> Mode says, "You can heal stun just fine."
  565. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "I, uh, don't think so. SR is pretty specific, IIRC, that no magical technique known to man can heal Stun."
  566. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Yes, since 4e."
  567. <<OOC>> Wraith says, "No clue what the appropriate healing rules are. Or even the appropriate skill. Unless it's "Survival.""
  568. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "I am still going to say I'm pretty sure that's wrong, but I don't have the books on hand, and I won't reject the sudden kindness."
  569. Tourist walks over the Snapdragon and puts his gloved hand on his hazmat-covered shoulders in a consilatory gesture.
  570. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "Heal, Force 4."
  571. <<OOC>> Mode says, "wraith: To perform first aid, uh...well, I am going to reject it as impossible unless he takes off his suit and exposes himself to the gas still in the air."
  572. [ Tourist rolls 14d6: 3 3 6 1 5 1 3 1 6 1 1 1 1 4 ]
  573. [ Tourist rolls 12d6: 2 4 5 4 3 6 2 4 6 3 2 6 ]
  574. <<OOC>> Mode says, "But IF HE DID, that would be logic+first aid+6 for first aid kit, -2 for him being awakened, -2 for the situation."
  575. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "Couldn't we just step outside to the boat?"
  576. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Hm. Heal says only physical, but I reject that as nonsense."
  577. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "I'm not going to waste my preciously depleted edge negating a minor glitch."
  578. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "Well, no, don't reject that, because if it can heal stun that means it can heal drain."
  579. <<OOC>> Mode says, "No, it can't."
  580. <<OOC>> Mode says, "IT can't heal physical or stun drian."
  581. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "Drain is like Mage's 'you can't heal damage you take this way' stuff, I imagine"
  582. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "Like paradox damage."
  583. Snapdragon says, "Hm.. thanks, Tourist. That feels better. Nevermind, Wraith."
  584. Wraith recovers the guard's weapons and ammo, tosses them into the boat, and then waits patiently there. Something about not wanting to go into the non-ventilated, gassed building without a full suit.
  585. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "I think you have a suit, Wraith."
  586. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "We did buy you one"
  587. <<OOC>> Mode says, "wraith: They bought enough hazmat suits for everyone"
  588. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Complete with emergency slap-patches!"
  589. Snapdragon messages, "I'm fully combat-ready again, Thoth."
  590. <<OOC>> Mode says, "The original Plan called for everyone sweeping in and going room by room blasting bitches."
  591. <<OOC>> Wraith says, "... Oh."
  592. Wraith retcons to recovering the weapons and ammo, then investigating the room just inside the airlock to find an appropriate doorway to hold against assault.
  593. Tourist messages, "If the outside is going to have thunderbirds firing at our boat, I believe I want to be inside."
  594. Wraith comms, "Well chosen."
  595. Thoth glares at the nearest drone, urging it to move faster. "I can totally take them before they get a shot off. Maybe."
  596. Past the airlock doors and the dead or dying guards, it turns into a 4-way intersection. The freight/general purpose elevator is in the dead-center of the floor, a straight shot from them to there. It is not currently at their floor.
  597. Wraith comms, "At this rate, we'll have fought everyone off before the drones get here."
  598. Mode pages: Roll...eh, fuck it, what's your logic+electronics warfare?
  599. You paged Mode with '11'
  600. Snapdragon comms, "Let's get Thoth's body in here for the drone to retrieve." He'll go do that with hopefully somebody's help.
  601. Mode pages: How does "hey you just automatically get two net hits on all of them" some time in the next 16 rolls sound?
  602. You paged Mode with 'I mourn for consroller's lost joy, but I can live with that.'
  603. Tourist looks at Thoth's unconscious and very Troll body, "There is a small problem with this idea."
  604. Wraith says, "There's a bigger problem if something happens to the boat, with him in it."
  605. Wraith goes to assist Snapdragon.
  606. <<OOC>> Mode says, "wraith: For the record, we're just using the World of Darkness strength table where your strength is (sr strength - 1)."
  607. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "I'm assuming 4 people can move a troll"
  608. <<OOC>> Mode says, "The canon SR rules for strength are just straight-up unusuable."
  609. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "Even if 2 can't"
  610. Tourist allows Snapdragon and Wraith to go first, and tries to support any Thoth-bit that's left dangling.
  611. GAME: Saving database. Game may freeze for a few moments.
  612. GAME: Save complete.
  613. Warning 'my-desc' for Thoth(#102PenA):
  614. player is missing description
  615. Padma says, "Are you boys going to be able to manage that all the way to the helicopter?"
  616. <<OOC>> Mode says, "You can automatically lift 15 kilos per point of strength. You can add a point of effective strength for every hit on a strength+body roll. Pause a meditate on what a ridiculously small amount that is."
  617. Wraith says, "No. But out of the boat, to the freight elevator, and into the drone that's on the way? Sure."
  618. On a 1-2-3 count, they lift the troll and drag him inside and off the boat. As if on cue, a flat freight drone comes around the corner, slowly working its way over to the team.
  619. Wraith says, "Next time, we hire a smaller rigger."
  620. Mode pages: As the seconds tick down and the tbirds close in fast, he achieves a sensor lock on all four of them. 6 seconds pass, but in those 6 seconds he accomplishes so very much. 12 kilometers and closing. Got any orders for the drone AI controlling the assault cannons?
  621. You paged Mode with 'We'll get the assault cannons facing the right way, but hold off on firing until we see what the missiles accomplish.'
  622. Wraith helps load Thoth into the drone.
  623. You paged Mode with 'If the thunderbirds fire anything or any of them survive, the assault cannons can try to deal with that.'
  624. Thoth is laid on the drone. A few straps on the drone could be used to strap him in somewhat, to try and keep him stable no matter what...if they care to spend the precious few seconds doing so.
  625. Mode pages: Roll perception -2
  626. [ Thoth rolls 8d6: 4 2 2 3 1 5 3 6 ]
  627. Snapdragon will take the seconds to strap him in unless Thoth starts zooming the drone off with himself.
  628. Wraith straps Thoth down enough to keep him from rolling off every time the drone turns a corner, but not enough to keep him attached if the drone falls down an elevator shaft.
  629. <<OOC>> Wraith says, "Thoth: Does it bother you that your unconscious body is going to be tied to something that is going INTO an elevator shaft?"
  630. <<OOC>> Thoth says, "I think I'm in a better position to deal with elevator malfunctions from here anyway."
  631. Mode pages: Two of the other two teams are closing in and circling around from opposite angles. If the team makes a straight-shot for the elevator and Thoth takes the time to try and close some doors, they might be able to make it...if they left Thoth behind. With the drone trudging along, not at all deisgned for speed, there's no way they'll be able to make it. The third team is watching the stair well
  632. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "If trivial things like that bothered him he wouldn't be a runner!"
  633. Mode pages: This leaves them forced to choose left team or right team if they don't want to be ambushed by all 6.
  634. <<OOC>> Wraith says, "So. Are there any other boats present when we arrived?"
  635. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Nope."
  636. <<OOC>> Mode says, "wait, yes"
  637. Thoth messages, "Two more groups are closing on you. If you head left or right, you can probably take one out before the other reaches you. Last group is watching the stairs."
  638. <<OOC>> Mode says, "There were two patrol craft docked at the side of the place."
  639. <<OOC>> Mode says, "From your character's perspective, they are both to right and around the arcology by about 120 degrees."
  640. Wraith comms, "Worst. Carjacking. Ever. Thoth, keep your drone going to the helo. Everyone else, stay with me. We'll have to go hit them before they hit us."
  641. Snapdragon says, "Pick a side, I'm ready."
  642. Wraith brings his Ingram smartgun up, and begins making his way to the left first, going down the hallway and watching his copy of the video feed, to put some distance between the team and the other pursuing group. He will stop at a doorway that he can use for cover before reaching the other security team.
  643. Wraith stays on the left side of the hallway.
  644. Tourist messages, "It would be inconsiderate if we did not lead them to join their friends."
  645. Leo says, "I can't jack the comms! I CAN'T DO IT!"
  646. Red Winter says, "It's OK Leo! We're doing fine!"
  647. Born Free says, "Focus on the hackers, focus on staying alive."
  648. Mode pages: The kilometers continue to tick down. 10 kilometers out.
  649. Snapdragon has disconnected.
  650. Snapdragon has connected.
  651. The security door Wraith is at is closed for the moment.
  652. Mode pages: There is door, would you like to open it? Or close some other doors to try and stall the other team a touch?
  653. Wraith comms, "Thoth. I need the doors to the left opened, we're going to meet the security forces."
  654. Thoth opens Wraith's door and closes everything around the other two groups, then returns his attention to the sky.
  655. Wraith and the others hear several doors in the area rapidly open and close.
  656. Mode pages: 9 kilometers.
  657. Wraith moves through (as above).
  658. You paged Mode with 'What's the range on the missiles/cannons?'
  659. Mode pages: The missiles are 5000 meters, the cannons are 1500.
  660. <<OOC>> Mode says, "The rules for missile scatter are hilariously cruel."
  661. Snapdragon is going to follow carefully, again staying on the opposite side of the hallway.
  662. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Missiles roll 4d6 for scatter. On average, someone would would need 6 hits on the attack test even with top-of-the-line missiles to actually hit a 1-meter target."
  663. <<OOC>> Mode says, "6 NET hits."
  664. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "Airburst Link is a little better, but yeah, I'm not pleased with scatter."
  665. <<OOC>> Thoth says, "The future is remarkably bad at some things."
  666. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "I've commented before that scatter rules should by and large be thronw out for missiles and smart grenades."
  667. <<OOC>> Mode says, "NEW RULE: Missiles subtract (sensor rating) from scatter for every net hit!"
  668. <<OOC>> Mode says, "This means guided missiles actually hit targets from time to time."
  669. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "If it explodes on impact, it doesn't scatter."
  670. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "Wow, I can hit things!"
  671. The 10 meter long stretch of hallway Wraith enters is...empty. For the moment.
  672. Wraith is going to keep advancing hallways, checking the status of the security team based on his camera feed, until such time as he would encounter the other team by going through the doorway. (I assume we have some means to overlay a map at this point).
  673. Thoth continues opening doors for Wraith and trying to close them on the other security teams.
  674. Mode pages: Would you like to spend an action updating htem with appropriate camera feeds and a map?
  675. You paged Mode with 'If it can be done in less than 4 kilometers worth of time, then sure!'
  676. Mode has disconnected.
  677. Mode has connected.
  678. Mode pages: Sure can! Pose it
  679. Mode pages: (opposing team is just about to pass through the other door, feel free to include that)
  680. You paged Mode with 'The one behind them is coming up behind them, you mean, or the one in front is about to pass through the nearest door?'
  681. Mode pages: The one in front of them is about to pass into the same 10 meter hallway wraith can see
  682. Thoth gives the team an updated map, and the newly-relevant camera feeds. "They're about to open the door you're looking at."
  683. On cue, the door slides open.
  684. Mode pages: 6 kilometers.
  685. <<OOC>> Wraith says, "... seriously? After all that, I'm walking up to a door that they are standing at? C'mon."
  686. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "How far away is yon door?"
  687. They can't see the bogies yet, but through the camera feed, they can see that the three are positioned around the door.
  688. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "My goal is to fire a frag grenade right into the door but I would like to not kill us."
  689. <<OOC>> Mode says, "snap: You can sure do that!"
  690. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "We have a few seconds, so I assume we can step away and let Snap have explosive fun."
  691. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Would you like to aim a grenade at just beyond the doorway?"
  692. Snapdragon motions everyone to stay back while he takes aim and fires an airburst linked frag to explode (he hopes) just past the doorway.
  693. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "Presumably you also wish to wait until the door is open."
  694. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "He said it slid open, right?"
  695. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "Oh."
  696. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "Carry on!"
  697. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "Are there any relevant penalties, Mode?"
  698. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Uh. I...don't think so."
  699. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Agility+heavy weapons+2"
  700. Wraith takes cover at his doorway (not their doorway) and waits for them to come through.
  701. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "Am I allowed to use 1 free action to aim or not?"
  702. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "Presuming the other was motioning the team."
  703. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Aiming is +1 die and is a simple action."
  704. <<OOC>> Mode says, "You can aim up to 3 times."
  705. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "Is firing the underbarrel launcher simple or complex?"
  706. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Simple."
  707. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "Okay, 1 simple to aim, the other to fire then."
  708. <<OOC>> Mode says, "+1 die then."
  709. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "7 agility + 3 heavy weapons + 2 underbarrel grenade launcher speciality + 2 smartlink + 1"

  715. <<OOC>> Mode says, "er, does not explode yet."
  716. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "It should explode, airburst."
  717. <<OOC>> Mode says, "or it does!"
  718. Snapdragon will attempt to hoof it to some semblance of cover afterward, if possible.

  727. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "Yes, I am."
  728. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "Shouldn't you be rolling 8d6 then?"
  729. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "We said 6d6 last time."
  730. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "Since I rolled 8d6 then."

  740. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Snap."
  741. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "Is there nearby full cover?"
  742. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "Spirit?"

  744. <<OOC>> Mode says, "uh. Actually, would anyone object overly if we ended it Right Here, a bit early? I'm rapidly losing my ability to focus from sleep deprivation and this next Scene is going to be a bit Complicated from the combination of three dudes+t bird combat."
  745. <<OOC>> Snapdragon says, "I don't mind, we made our second initiative roll!"
  746. <<OOC>> Wraith says, "Sure but I might not be here next week?"
  747. <<OOC>> Mode says, "Really? Sadf. and as a sign of how sleepy I am, I completely forgot the spirit AGAIN"
  748. <<OOC>> Padma says, "We're just about at 4 hours anyway"
  749. <<OOC>> Mode says, "anyway, 3 BP, +1 for everyone rolling init twice, thus 4 BP all around!"
  750. <<OOC>> Tourist says, "Yay!"
  751. <<OOC>> Mode says, "anyway, good night ya'll. combat's are moving smoother than ever with practice!"
