Moon Men Vinyl Transcript

Let's go back in time. Hehe. It's summer, 1968, and the first three men have just landed on the moon...one year before the very public Apollo 11 landing. NASA privately tested the psychological effects that walking on the moon might have on an astronaut.

A sensible step to take before they would broadcast Neil and Buzz live on television at the height of a space race. But as feared, the human psyche wasn't yet conditioned to the mind-altering experience of stepping foot on extraterrestrial ground. The experience was overwhelming and difficult for an untrained imagination to cope with.

The men began to experience hallucinations, a manifestation of their own childhood radio dream: men and monsters riding into the shadows of moon mountains.

This is the setting for The Moon, the concept album on which Moon Men is track 3, just as the hallucinations begin, and the astronauts become wary of each other.
