  1. She was born in the wild, in the islands off of Madagascar, where environmentalists and scientists were studying the habits of her species. As a Livingstone Fruit Bat, she was part of the Endangered list, so the draw to help things along was perked within the Camaztoz human kinfolk that took part in these studies as a way to aide their families.
  2.
  3. When a spirit was eventually contracted to look into the wild born Livingstone Bats, they eventually came upon the newborn that held the potential of kin-blood.
  4.
  5. So, with careful measure, she was taken and brought back to Shifters. The goal was to use the Ritual, in hopes that by gaining true intelligence, it will make breeding more of the species easier and quicker. With her being female, it made it all the more viable.
  6.
  7. After this, her story went as one expected from a newly awakened animal. She grew curious of the world and yearned to see it. This concerned her new family greatly, fearing that if she ventured too far they would lose a valuable asset to the cause if she became too wounded or lost. Though she was expected to fly far in her future work, in service to Gaia and be the ears of the people, her surrogate family themselves were worried about their own ambitions for her. They wanted her to inflate the number of Livingstone bats, to bring them back from endangerment, thus why she was chosen to become what she is now. Yet they felt it best to veil this truth from her, while subtly trying to guide her towards staying closer to home so she may begin fulfilling that wish.
  8.
  9. Eventually, they relented and allowed her to fly and explore when it became clear she wouldn't stay still for long. Yet, unknown to her, she was shadowed by another shifter to ensure her safety at the start of her adventures.
  10.
  11. Through her wanderlust, she came upon old ruins and potent spiritual energies, with a still clear pond that reflected the moon like a mirror. Here, she first heard the whispers of spirits, of old Hollow songs and a sense of melancholy. Guided by the spirits, she came to meditate by the edge of the pond in complete stillness. She felt her form shift to a half-state between human and bat, her earthen fur keeping her warm, as flecks of colour bloomed on her chest and face as she was bathed in starlight reflected in the pond.
  12.
  13. Something about this night changed her, guiding her forward to seek more places like this that drank deep in spiritual energy. It was through this desire that she caught the attention of Seekers of the Wyld, giving her a purpose to venture further in the service of Gaia. However much this alarmed her surrogate family once more as she was yet to settle down and start a family, they couldn't stop her from wanting to serve Gaia and be her wings to find the hidden homes of future caerns.
  14.
  15. She served this role for the better part of her youth and young adulthood, finding herself growing a reputation of her own in regards to her dedication to seeking the hidden hearts. Some, however, find her reputation a mixed bag. While she is doing good work for the Nation, she also gained the attention of humans that claim she broke laws of their own making or in another case humans that try to catch her true form on film. She doesn't know what a Cryptid is but these nosy ones seem to think she is one.
  16.
  17. In her more middling years, she returned home and found herself courted by a ambitious bat. She settled down to start her own family at last, to the relief of her family, doing her part to help the numbers of her species.
  18.
  19. What they don't know is that there was a event that prompted her leave from work. Within one of the sites she discovered, sensing the energies, she found herself hearing the spirits all the louder as she searched for the sleeping heart. Digging deep, she learned why the spirits were louder. With all the stories, from her own kind and that passed through the feline-kings, she recognized the pale and broken relics of a broken age deep in the forests of British Columbia, by a lake that shines like Luna's mirror.
  20.
  21. She found remains of wolf bones far larger than the animals that still roam the lands.
  22.
  23. The spirits sung and begged to dig deeper, but her heart shrank back in generational fear. Fear and also shame of a war she never was a part of. Only the product of, a inheritor of tales and sins of the past.
  24.
  25. She fled from the site after reburying the remains, flying back to her home and used the time to recollect her thoughts. She started a family, hoping to regain her senses. Then, she begun to think, to wonder, she felt that thirst for knowing again. This time, it was focused on the stories and lore, to learn more of the world at large as well. She begun to approach the homid kinfolk, asking them to help teach her more of the human world, starting a path of academics. She begun her research while rearing her pups with her mate, learning more of the Camaztoz, a bit of the wyld and finally...she convinced a traveling Fox and Raven to teach her of the Garou away from the ears of her family. If she was going to confront those spirits again at that site, she needed to know more.
