A LATERAL THINKING PUZZLE

Garfield the cat walks into a fine Italian restaurant. He is seated reasonably quickly and orders a plate of lasagna. He eats one bite of it, pays, leaves an enormous tip, and exits the restaurant. Then Garfield goes home and blows his brains out. Why?

A: Garfield, Jon and Odie were on a ship that foundered in the Arctic Ocean. They were able to escape on a life-raft, but there was no food. Soon, Jon died of starvation. Almost immediately, the two remaining survivors' luck seemed to change - Odie gave Garfield a plate of food to eat, telling him it was lasagna. The nourishment from Odie's lasagna allowed to two to survive until they could be rescued. After returning to land, Garfield immediately goes to a restaurant to see what lasagna tastes like. He discovers it tastes nothing like the food that Odie had given him. Odie had given Garfield meat from Jon's body.
