Lyra

The world of Lyra is no stranger to conflict. 700 or so years ago, magic ruled every corner of the planet, with mythical beings and creatures, wizards of awesome power to rewrite reality and so on, so forth. Then, human civilization sprung forth, with small towns and villages growing, the ancient keeps and temples attracting people to live around them, and with time, magic simply retreated.

Nowadays most of Lyra is touched by human civilization, magic and mysticism existing only in tales and history, and of course the faraway side of the world, from where nobody ever returns. The human world isn't doing too well, however. The Great Authority of Nations a.k.a the Authority, has become in many's opinion too oppressive, and thus countless outlaw clans have formed. Nations have thus either elected to band together and stick with the Authority, or slowly distance themselves.

But this was all about to change, one day as a star fell from the heavens, far into the eastern jungles, near the line where the human world and that of magic blurs.
