  2. 12:15 PM <Faustus> I probably could have said "moving on" but I didn't want it to seem like I was ignoring the message
  3. 12:15 PM <Spellspin> riiight
  4. 12:15 PM
  5. <Mallmann> It's not really the first time. w/e
  6. 12:16 PM
  7. <•Mishie> In that case Faust, you may want to be more careful about how your words may appear in the future to prevent future misunderstandings.
  8. 12:18 PM <Faustus> Yeah.
  9. 12:18 PM
  10. <Brut> Anyways this is what you should get for lunch Mishie
  11. 12:18 PM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EyU1kUifkSQ
  12. 12:19 PM
  13. <•Mishie> yeah but that's in Hobart
  14. 12:19 PM which is in Tas
  15. 12:19 PM and Tasmania is like Australian Alaska
  16. 12:19 PM
  17. <Brut> is Faust there too
  18. 12:19 PM <Faustus> Hell no
  19. 12:20 PM
  20. <Brut> Is Tasmania where all the criminals in Australia got sent
  21. 12:22 PM
  22. <Ereus> tasmania is where hte inbreds live
  23. 12:22 PM Brut
  24. 12:22 PM but our 'south' is queensland
  25. 12:22 PM <Faustus> Mallmann: When a mod has already told me to chill out, you don't need to as well, feel free to let him handle it and enjoy other things :)
  26. 12:22 PM
  27. <•Mishie> damnit Ereus
  28. 12:22 PM Faust no
  29. 12:23 PM ← Faustus (uid186758@stonehaven.irccloud.com) was kicked by •Mishie: bad
  30. 12:23 PM
  31. <Ereus> but where i live is the one that constantly waxes on about breaking away from australia
  32. 12:23 PM → Faustus joined (uid186758@stonehaven.irccloud.com)
  33. 12:23 PM
  34. <Ereus> its funny
  35. 12:23 PM <Faustus> I thought that was quite pleasant
  36. 12:23 PM → Verum_ joined ⇐ jre and Verum quit ↔ Squizz and FirstChoir nipped out
  37. 12:50 PM
  38. <FirstChoir> Sorry for posting it here but 3 people just wrote with me and I was disconnected because 'someoneelse' used my name. So: Sorry sorry sorry for ending the chat. I didn't ment to :x
  39. 12:50 PM
  40. <•Mishie> it's fine
  41. 12:54 PM
  42. <FirstChoir> how does it even happen that kiwiirc kicks you out for 'your name is already used' if you have a confirmed name with a password and stuff?
  43. 12:54 PM did i miss something?
  44. 12:57 PM
  45. <•Mishie> it probably relogged you automatically
  46. 12:57 PM you can ghost the clone though
  47. 12:57 PM
  48. <FirstChoir> I never really got the kiwi-chat
  49. 12:57 PM
  50. <Brut> can you clone a ghost though
  51. 12:57 PM
  52. <•Mishie> yes
  53. 12:57 PM
  54. <Brut> spooky x 2
  55. 12:57 PM
  56. <FirstChoir> How does that clones even come in existence?
  57. 12:58 PM If someone is logged in... how can that happen?
  58. 12:58 PM
  59. <Rhet> Kiwi is just a client
  60. 12:59 PM You get disconnected from kiwi, but the IRC server hasn't kicked you for being disconnected yet
  61. 12:59 PM
  62. <FirstChoir> How can that happen when I just wrote 10 secounds before?
  63. 1:00 PM I'd get it if the browser I'm using would shut down and I'm disconnected - but how can I get disconnected if nothing happened?
  64. 1:00 PM
  65. <Rhet> Because you lost connection within those 10 seconds
  66. 1:00 PM I would suggest getting a better client
  67. 1:01 PM Hexchat or IRCCloud or something
  68. 1:01 PM
  69. <FirstChoir> Hmhmhm
  70. 1:01 PM Perhaps tomorrow. For now I just keep eating some shrimps
  71. 1:02 PM Oh that's something I always wondered
  72. 1:02 PM
  73. <Rhet> Do tell
  74. 1:02 PM
  75. <FirstChoir> We know that the vegas-PRT and also the indian guys keept check about their local s-threats
  76. 1:03 PM but whats about south america and africa
  77. 1:03 PM
  78. <Rhet> Oh that's not related to IRC clients at all
  79. 1:03 PM
  80. <FirstChoir> Perhaps one of them is a tinker
  81. 1:03 PM Nah I really don't have no clue about clients
  82. 1:03 PM especially since everything here is german for me. I don't even really know what you mean with client.
  83. 1:04 PM And I'm here for like 1-2 years but I never just disconnected like that.
  84. 1:04 PM I just got an error for that my name was already taken and a message that I could choose a new name. Even if I tried it didn't work.
  85. 1:05 PM
  86. <Rhet> A client is a piece of software you use to connect to an IRC server
  87. 1:06 PM KiwiIRC is one that runs in a browser
  88. 1:06 PM It's like with email, it's not a single program like Discord
  89. 1:09 PM
  90. <Nadaesque> Discord is also client-server.
  91. 1:09 PM
  92. <Rhet> I mean in terms of having multiple options for clients
  93. 1:09 PM since Discord has made it against the ToS to make a third-party client
  94. 1:09 PM
  95. <FirstChoir> Well I just use the kiwiirc.com-link in my browser...
  96. 1:10 PM discord, reddit and kiwi-chat are the 3 forums for talking about WB's work or are there more?
  97. 1:11 PM
  98. <Rhet> Again, it's not kiwi-chat, it's IRC. Kiwi is one option for connecting to an IRC server
  99. 1:11 PM That's like saying "I sent you a gmail"
  100. 1:11 PM
  101. <FirstChoir> Oh.
  102. 1:11 PM ⇐ Inksword quit (uid324427@brockwell.irccloud.com) Quit: Connection closed for inactivity
  103. 1:12 PM
  104. <FirstChoir> Now I get it.
  105. 1:12 PM What are other clients for this chat here?
  106. 1:12 PM
  107. <Rhet> Hexchat is a native one, and IRCCloud is probably the best web-based one
  108. 1:12 PM <Faustus> IRCCloud is the one you should pick up
  109. 1:12 PM
  110. <Rhet> IRCCloud keeps you connected for two hours after you close the window
  111. 1:13 PM <Faustus> It's browser-based, free, and easy to set up
  112. 1:13 PM
  113. <FirstChoir> is it IRCCLOUD.com?
  114. 1:13 PM
  115. <Rhet> yup
  116. 1:13 PM
  117. <FirstChoir> because kiwiirc.com is the one I use because it was once posted in the sideline at r/parahumans
  118. 1:13 PM
  119. <Rhet> That one useful because you can give a direct link
  120. 1:14 PM But it's not really good from a user perspective
  121. 1:14 PM
  122. <FirstChoir> Can I use the same name/pw for IRCCloud like the one I use now here with Kiwiirc?
  123. 1:14 PM
  124. <Rhet> Depends
  125. 1:14 PM There's a login for Kiwi, and there's a nickserv login on the IRC server itself
  126. 1:15 PM <HoneyButter> irccloud has a good mobile app too
  127. 1:15 PM
  128. <FirstChoir> Lel, I just make 2. account called SecondChoir
  129. 1:15 PM
  130. <Rhet> You'll have to make an IRCCloud account
  131. 1:15 PM But you can use the same nick and everything
  132. 1:15 PM
  133. <FirstChoir> And everytime I say something controversial SecoundChoir will appear and back me up : D
  134. 1:15 PM I really hate typing on my mobile phone to be honest.
  135. 1:16 PM Hmmm... guess I'm gonna make a secound account there tomorrow.
  136. 1:16 PM But thanks for all the advice! : )
  137. 1:16 PM
  138. <Rhet> IRC doesn't really have accounts
  139. 1:16 PM just a nickname and a service (nickserv) to keep people from impersonating you
  140. 1:17 PM Kippyster → SecondChoir
  141. 1:17 PM <SecondChoir> hey first it's me ur brother
  142. 1:17 PM SecondChoir → kippyster
  143. 1:18 PM
  144. <FirstChoir> DAMN IT
  145. 1:18 PM I shouldn't write my thoughts out loud.
  146. 1:18 PM But I'm the first choir. I just need to open ma maw and you are a goner.
  147. 1:19 PM <Faustus> That second sentence is magical Choir
  148. 1:19 PM "Write my thoughts out loud" is an amazing action
  149. 1:22 PM ⇐ Everyperson and Forricide quit
  150. 1:30 PM
  151. <FirstChoir> I'm afraid I don't get it
  152. 1:32 PM → KamikazeTomato and Everyperson joined
  153. 1:34 PM
  154. <waxpapers> it's verbal humor. in english, you just told a very funny joke
  155. 1:35 PM "write my thoughts out loud" is an interesting thing to say because the individual words make no sense given how they relate to each other, but the sentence is perfectly clear
  156. 1:36 PM
  157. <Rhet> Well, "very funny" might be overstating it a bit
  158. 1:36 PM
  159. <waxpapers> I exhaled quickly through my nose
  160. 1:36 PM ⇐ Idealogue and hyper quit
  161. 1:49 PM
  162. <FirstChoir> 'i exhaled quickly through my nose' always sounds like grunting
  163. 1:49 PM And I know because I always do that when something is funny but not funny enough to make me laugh
  164. 1:50 PM And... I just eat a whole shrimp.
  165. 1:50 PM And well... now I know why the get pulled.
  166. 1:51 PM If you don't pull their inestines out they... taste like shrimp-shit.
  167. 1:51 PM I just ate fucking shrimp-shit and I'm really not amused about it. Where is my fucking trigger-event?
  168. 1:51 PM <TheWhiteDuke> It's always a gamble, because maybe half the time the guts are pretty empty and it's unnoticeable
  169. 1:52 PM And it's always such a fuss
  170. 1:52 PM
  171. <FirstChoir> They really weren't empty.
  172. 1:52 PM <TheWhiteDuke> Yep. That's the other half of the time
  173. 1:52 PM
  174. <FirstChoir> Because suddenly there was such an ugly bitter tase which was stronger than anything else.
  175. 1:52 PM : (
  176. 1:53 PM I accidentaly ate shit and I'm not happy about it.
  177. 1:53 PM But do you know why half of the time the guts are pretty empty?
  178. 1:54 PM <HoneyButter> sometimes i get that with mudbugs but thats usually because i get into the weird yellow stuff near the head and idk what it is
  179. 1:54 PM
  180. <Rhet> because there's nothing in them?
  181. 1:55 PM
  182. <FirstChoir> But aren't shrimps feed in the farms nonstop?
  183. 1:55 PM <TheWhiteDuke> Such mysteries are beyond my ken
  184. 1:55 PM
  185. <Rhet> I mean if they're empty then there's probably nothing in them
  186. 1:55 PM
  187. <FirstChoir> I gutted and disceted many animals and all of them ... well, the were well fed.
  188. 1:56 PM And since all the shrimps are coming from farms which look for getting them as big as possible - hmmm.
  189. 1:56 PM However - tomorrow when I cook them I'll learn how to gut shrimps thanks to youtube-tutorials.
  190. 1:57 PM <HoneyButter> a good portion of shrimp here at least is wild caught
  191. 1:57 PM
  192. <Rhet> you just do the thing with the knife
  193. 1:57 PM <HoneyButter> on the gulf coast
  194. 1:57 PM
  195. <Rhet> ez
  196. 1:57 PM
  197. <FirstChoir> And wild ones are empty sometimes? Oha
  198. 1:57 PM Do the empty ones taste different from the ones with full guts?
  199. 1:57 PM <HoneyButter> no idea the vast majority of shrimp sold in markets here is deveined
  200. 1:58 PM
  201. <FirstChoir> Ah, well - i'm from germany. The shrimps I you can buy in germany are from farms from far away.
  202. 1:59 PM But I guess the shrimp-shit won't explode tomorrow in my face like when I found a dead weasl 3 years ago and... poked it with a stick.
  203. 1:59 PM <HoneyButter> its surprising to find whole animals in markets here actually! i've been gutting fish lately because they've had whole frozen fish in stock at my supermarket. I was surprised that it was whole with guts intact because its so unusual to me as an American
  204. 1:59 PM
  205. <FirstChoir> Really?!
  206. 2:00 PM I live in hamburg - a really old city in germany. I don't even find whole fish on the weekly fish market although that city is based an harbour-stuff.
  207. 2:01 PM The only whole fish I find is in the turkish quarter of the town. And yeah - it's actually fun to gut them. Because they taste 10x better.
  208. 2:01 PM But taking out the guts on yout own is.... special.
  209. 2:01 PM <HoneyButter> well the whole fish we usually get are frozen. They've had frozen mackerel in stock for the last couple months.
  210. 2:02 PM
  211. <FirstChoir> if you ever get the chance to get your hands on a fish which isn't frozen but captured 1, 2 days before - take it
  212. 2:02 PM such a huge difference
  213. 2:02 PM <HoneyButter> I kind of enjoy cleaning fish because i feel more connected to what i'm eating - like more grateful, i suppose? It feels more respectful to interact with the whole animal than to eat a piece of meat that i cant recognize
  214. 2:02 PM
  215. <FirstChoir> taking out the organs... is squishy. I totally get if someone is grossed out by it. But _real_ fresh fish is awesome!!!
  216. 2:02 PM Yeah

  219. <FirstChoir> Expecting when you clean out the insides of the fish and you hit some nerves and suddenly the dead fish flaps...
  220. 2:03 PM happened once to me and I was so grossed out
  221. 2:03 PM <HoneyButter> yeah i have caught some bass and catfish and cleaned them the same day. fishing in tx is nice
  222. 2:03 PM
  223. <FirstChoir> because I just thought about 'OMG the fish is kind of still alive OMG'
  224. 2:04 PM you are fishing them on your own? Woah nice!
  225. 2:04 PM <HoneyButter> sometimes! not the frozen ones from the supermarket
  226. 2:04 PM hehe
  227. 2:04 PM
  228. <FirstChoir> u are from north america?
  229. 2:04 PM <HoneyButter> but yeah sometimes i go out to a friend's lake and fish for bass and catfish
  230. 2:04 PM yeah from Texas
  231. 2:04 PM
  232. <FirstChoir> When it come down to fish I always envy you guys from the north america
  233. 2:05 PM I'm from germany and we really don't havr so much fish.
  234. 2:05 PM <HoneyButter> you ever seen an alligator gar
  235. 2:05 PM
  236. <FirstChoir> Especially looking at all the youtube vids about cooking fish
  237. 2:05 PM alligator gar?

  241. <FirstChoir> I really envy you for all that tasty saltwater fish!
  242. 2:05 PM DAFUQ?!
  243. 2:05 PM what is that thing?
  244. 2:05 PM <HoneyButter> fish

  249. <FirstChoir> Fish or alligator?
  250. 2:06 PM still would eat.
  251. 2:06 PM But...
  252. 2:06 PM <HoneyButter> i've eaten alligator!
  253. 2:06 PM we eat those in texas
  254. 2:06 PM
  255. <FirstChoir> nah - actually i wouldn't want to catch it.
  256. 2:06 PM <HoneyButter> and frogs
  257. 2:06 PM
  258. <FirstChoir> How do they taste?
  259. 2:06 PM <HoneyButter> kind of like wet chicken? if that makes sense
  260. 2:06 PM like a meatier tasting chicken
  261. 2:06 PM
  262. <FirstChoir> I know frogs and snails and stuff. But I don't kno alligators.
  263. 2:07 PM Yeah everything always says stuff tastes 'like chicken'
  264. 2:07 PM <HoneyButter> i've had fried alligator and alligator jerky
  265. 2:07 PM
  266. <FirstChoir> alligator jerky?
  267. 2:07 PM urgh...
  268. 2:07 PM <HoneyButter> i know it sounds fake but thats the best comparison i can make!
  269. 2:07 PM
  270. <FirstChoir> I'd love to taste that
  271. 2:07 PM <HoneyButter> and if you think about it, it kind of makes sense because alligators and chickens are kind of related so you'd think their muscles might have some similar qualities
  272. 2:08 PM
  273. <FirstChoir> Too bad we don't have some prof. haywire portals between germany and the us.
  274. 2:08 PM so I could trade some bavarian specials for alligator beef jerky! : D
  275. 2:08 PM But that's the reason I guess it doesn't make sense
  276. 2:08 PM <HoneyButter> Texas has some fine things to share
  277. 2:08 PM
  278. <FirstChoir> Because alligators are so specialised in such a different way
  279. 2:08 PM compared to chickens
  280. 2:09 PM did you know alligators are having to strongest immune system of all animals?
  281. 2:09 PM <HoneyButter> well they're still closer to chickens than mammals are
  282. 2:09 PM i did not know that but it makes sense
  283. 2:09 PM they sum beasts
  284. 2:09 PM
  285. <FirstChoir> Also they are way cuter than some stupid chickens. My grandmas on both sides of the family had farms. I really don't like chickens xD
  286. 2:10 PM Also baby alligators are like the most cute thing.
  287. 2:10 PM <HoneyButter> i had chickens growing up. they can be pretty stupid sometimes haha
  288. 2:10 PM
  289. <FirstChoir> Especially when their momma is dragging them around in her maw.
  290. 2:10 PM Chicks even ate mouse or anything they can fit in their beak
  291. 2:10 PM <HoneyButter> yeah i love alligators. they are really neat. i respect alligators
  292. 2:11 PM
  293. <FirstChoir> Once I played hide-and-seek with my cousin when both of use were like 8 or 9
  294. 2:11 PM she did hid in the chicken-stall
  295. 2:11 PM and the single male chicken notied her and attacked her. Really hard.
  296. 2:12 PM We found her because she ended up lying in the corner of that stall, crying and shouting and that male chicken picking her all over
