We give you thanks, O God, for the life and work of MLK Jr. And for the prophets whom you raise up in every age. Give them strength and courage to boldly proclaim your truth and your love, and move our hearts to follow their word.

We pray for all creatures big and small. Sustain them as they endure the frigid cold, and give us grace to take good care of every one.

We pray for the leaders of all nations, especially our own.  Show them the dangers of war and the harm of hate. Turn their hearts away from wickedness and to your way of justice and peace.

We beg forgiveness that we have allowed so many to wrongfully suffer. Put an end to all injustice they face. Guide us in the way of peace and justice for all.

We pray for all who suffer in body mind or spirit; for all who are sick, wounded, hopeless, faithless, sad, lonely, or afraid. Be with them, strengthen them, and pour out on them your abundant love.
