+Terran Downvale __ I haven't caught up with this yet but wanted to mention that a channel can change thumbnails *at any time* (you might already know this). So it's possible (though unlikely) he updated all of the thumbnails from 2015 ten minutes before you saw them in 2016.

You'd need a screenshot from in 2015 or better yet - to see the "crazy colours" being used in a video (because that cannot be changed later).

Interestingly, "Jeff C" has taken on the "crazy colours" via the creeping style of "Penn and Teller" if you look at the thumbnail for the following video starting with "Tana Mongeau" in the title (search the channel for the video title for those in the future).
