1. I know a lot about scripting, unfortunately 8-) Feel free to look at the dialogue, though, Yeti. :)
2.
3. Anyway! Good news! I found the problem. It is because you used 'Disposition' in the resultbox for 'Find Ice Cleaver' instead of 'ModDisposition'. Changing every instance of 'Disposition' to 'ModDisposition' fixes the problem entirely (You did this right on Thigh-Breeze! It's just on Vitellus you use this instead of ModDisposition for some reason.)
4.
5. It's actually a pretty neat quest. A few comments:
6.
7.
- perhaps add a ShowMap "Skaal Village" [and dialogue saying that he's marking it on your map, or something] when Proximus gives you the book, for the noob players who wash up at Fort Frostmoth and have no idea where they're supposed to go. Or just have Proximus say he doesn't know where it is. [Depends how you want to characterise Proximus -- if he's an ignorant poser Imperial who just wants a fancy weapon, go for the latter :)]
8.
9. - Proximus' 'Background' topic is very long. Multiple continues usually aren't worth it -- you could easily condense this down a bit to just 2 boxes of dialogue. Using things like "Such a noble tale! Please, continue." as the Continue dialogue seems like a good idea, but it is a bit overblown, and some players might not like their character using phrases like that. Best to stick to just the generic "Continue" unless you really have a reason to deviate from it.
10.
11. - Still on the Background topic: I am not sure Cyrodiil has 'muggers'. Seems like an awfully modern term. 'Brigands' or 'highwaymen' or 'petty thieves' would be better stylistically.
12.
13. - For Thigh-Breeze: If I fail the 'test of knowledge', and get the Goodbye, I have to navigate back through several choices or scroll down to the 'test of knowledge' topic when I talk to him again. Adding another greeting for when you failed the test the first time that contains the 'test of knowledge' phrase would be a handy time-saver.
14.
15. - The quest has no outcome for what happens if I kill Proximus, if I kill Thigh-Breeze, or both. Case by case:
16.
17. - Killing Proximus before he tells you about the whole thing (i.e. before you ever talk to him) shouldn't give you a journal entry. (Admittedly this would be pretty tough to do considering you are in a whole fort full of guards, but still, it's possible.)
18.
19. - Killing him after you get SC_IceCleaver 10 should trigger a failed quest journal entry, but not after you finish the quest (50, 98, 99, 100). Alternatively you could have Thigh-Breeze attack you if you kill Proximus and try to get the weapon anyway (e.g. "I heard you struck down a long-lost descendant of our blood... You will pay!")
20.
21. - Killing Thigh-Breeze. However, considering Thigh-Breeze has the axe, one solution to the quest is to go to the Skaal village and just kill Thigh-Breeze, take the axe, and try to report back to Processus. Admittedly you can do this already and return the axe to Proximus with no issues, but there aren't really any repercussions for this. Maybe you can think of something.
22.
23. - It would be nice see some use of scripting outside of the dialogue resultbox (i.e. in a seperate script). Some (optional) ideas:
24.
25. Make it so that the correct answer to the test (the bristleback) doesn't actually appear unless you have read the book? The best way to do this would be to add a script to the book that runs once and changes the value of a global variable when it is read. Then you'd need duplicate 'test of knowledge' dialogue above your existing dialogue that appears only when this global variable has been changed by reading the book. If you haven't yet read the book, you just get presented with 4 wrong choices.
26.
27. Add dialogue on Proximus, when you hand him the axe, with him saying that he'd soon be travelling to the Skaal village to get in touch with the culture and thank the Skaal people, etc. Then if you had completed the quest by killing Thigh-Breeze, you would find Proximus' dead corpse near the Skaal village the next time you visited it. (This would take another script that disables the Frostmoth!Proximus and enables the dead Skaal!Proximus).
28.
29. - Various spelling errors, but that's not so much of an issue (they're easily fixed).
30.
31. - Svenja snow-song has an entry for 'Ice Cleaver' which you should clean out with TESAME.
32.
33. I know this seems like a big list, but don't be discouraged at all - your quest is really good and quite imaginative. The book is a great touch. Fix the problems I mentioned and you're probably good to go :)
