  7. Before we go over any of the basic rules, here are the Official Pesterchum Rules:
  8. BANNABLE OFFENSES:
  9. 1. We will not tolerate attempts to ERP or any other NSFW behavior with unwilling chums or in public memos. (Anything in the comic is considered SFW.)
  10. 2. No racist or homophobic or otherwise hateful handles or speech.
  11. 3. Do not attempt to impersonate any user.
  12. 4. If a user has blocked you, do not attempt to harass them by circumventing it.
  13. 5. Repeated and chronic abuse of the canon rules.
  14. 6. Spamming users or memos excessively.
  15. 7. Repeatedly rejoining memos you are kicked from.
  16. 8. Running intrusive bots.
  17. Bannable offenses can carry a ban of anywhere from a day to forever, depending on severity.
  18.
  19.
  20.
  21. Onward to the memo rules!
  22.
  23. This is an AU of canon, in the sense that, Alternia has not been destroyed. So, pre-SGRUB, or SBURB for humans. Whatever. Humans DO exist in this universe, and interact with the Alternian Empire, although, they are from far, far away. Fan species are acceptable, but if an issue arises with a moderator or fellow patron, the species will have to be reviewed.
  24.
  25. I don't care what head canon you have for troll junk, but they CANNOT produce grubs without the mother grub. I'm sorry. And this planet has no mother grub. So, you cannot RP a grub. I'm sorry.
  26.
  27. You must enter your character into the setting via a /me action. If you need assistance as a new RPer, or just need help in general, please consult the mods or key, or even fellow RPers. I'm sure they would be willing to help out.
  28.
  29. Obviously no power playing or god modding. This means pretty much don't force someone's character into doing something.
  30. Ex. He punches the girl and she is knocked out.
  31.
  32. Breaking the meta! Pretty simple. Don't use knowledge in character that you've gained from out of character means. Such as someone's name, god tier, their favorite food. Whatever. Please do not do this, because it gets annoying.
  33.
  34. Your powers must be explainable, as are your actions. If you're a jade blood, there is no reason they should be able to use chucklevoodoos, or a purple being able to glow like a rainbow drinker. If your character can pick up something of unreasonably heavy weight, that has to be able to be explained through logical means.
  35.
  36. Magic is available to characters on a person to person basis. If you want your character to use magic, you will have to discuss this with the keyholder. Or at least a mod. No god tiers, tricksters, or demon powers allowed. Again, just talk to the key if you want an exception.
  37.
  38. No. You cannot roleplay a first guardian.
  39.
  40. In the main memos and offshoot memos, try to keep it to mild NSFW. I can't control what you do at 3am, but at peak times, please do not be pailing in a tree outside. Thank you.
  41.
  42. Please, do not use extremely offensively colored texts, such as, white, highlighter yellow, burn your eyes out blue, neon green, etc.
  43.
  44.
  45. All punishment doled out from breaking these rules will be administered and decided upon the offense actually happening. Every situation is unique, and should be handled with logical discretion.
  46.
  47.
  48.
  49. Setting rules:
  50.
  51. The colony is essentially a social experiment, prepared by the Alternian Empire. They wanted to see how trolls could work together in a tight knit community, rather than spending a lot of their time apart, as loners. Really, this experiment is "for the lulz", to entertain themselves.
  52.
  53. This planet is a one way in, no way out. All species are allowed, but, it must be reasonable as to why you're here. Some trolls are sent here as punishment for crimes, some choose to come, to live a simpler life. Before entering, make sure to think of a reason as to why your character would arrive here.
  54.
  55. Higher technology IS against the law, and your character can be punished for it. That being said, it is permitted, as long as it's in secret. And well hidden. If your character uses things like a cell phone, or husktop, out in public, it can cause dire consequences, so, please be prepared for that. It's not against the rules for one character to inform another, of authority, about the law being broken. Smuggling off planet is ALSO allowed, but even more illegal. This can be punishable by death, so, please also take this into consideration if you decide to make your character a smuggler. This is very, very risky, and should be a plot line you take with caution.
  56.
  57. SYLLADEXES AND CAPTCHA SYSTEMS WILL FALL UNDER THE "HIGH TECH" CATEGORY. They CAN exist, but they are ILLEGAL. Please remember this.
  58.
  59. So, obviously, with a lack of technology, some careers are out of the question. Mechanical engineering, bionics, ect. Your character will more than likely have to acquire a job of their own, though. They will not have a place to live upon arrival. Their hive/home will have to be built. Either by them, or a local carpenter. They will also have to have a way to either barter for food, or, gather their own. Obvious, basic survival things. It's recommended they market their skills, and get a job, such as a blacksmith, baker, farmer. You can even pick up other jobs, like maybe a hair stylist, guard for the community (you know, security), or a musician. These are just some hints though, to make your initial time here easier. Feel free to do whatever you want!
  60.
  61. Edit: Another side note I'm adding in after the fact, the setting of the main memo WILL take place inside of the "Newbie Inn". This is the meeting point for the central memo, but, there will be off shoot memos as well, such as #AR_City and #AR_Forest, or even #AR_Docks. Please remember this when entering the main memo. The Newbie Inn, while it DOES exchange work for housing and food, no character currently runs the inn, to set this up, so, you'll have to use your imagination for that much. It's encouraged that your character go out, to build their own house, and get their own unique job, but, it's not against the rules to live in the inn full time. Just kind of defeats the purpose of the memo in the first place.
  62.
  63. These are the only really serious rules, honestly. But, do whatever makes you comfortable, and just have a good time. Make an interesting story!

  71. Setting of the planet and colony:
  72.
  73. This community lies buried into the forest, and merges out into the open area by the ocean. This enables the largest, varied amount of jobs to be obtained. From fisherman, to farmer, to lumberjack. Whatever might catch your fancy, you can do here. You'll arrive at one of the only actually designated air fields on the planet, unless you're dropped off hundreds of miles to the East, where the flat plains begin. Follow the path from the clearing, through the forest, until you reach the edge of this place. The town, is quite spread out, giving others a lot of room, especially in the outer edges, which everything grows more dense the closer to the shore you get, and, downtown. The heart of the city is centralized along main street, which runs parallel to the docks along the ocean, where boats are tied up, and people are fishing, earning a living.
  74.
  75. The population of this place is surprisingly large, at least a thousand people, and, would be considered the capital, if, there was such a thing here. People mostly get around by foot, or hoofbeast, with the occasional carriage coming by. After walking around enough, you should come upon an area for "New Arrivals". Here, there will be a very large board, posted with jobs, and things you can do for money, housing, and anything else you can imagine. A very primitive craigs list. Although, tacked on at the very bottom of this board, is another fairly large sign, in big, bold letters.
  76.
  77. "NEWBIE INN --->
  78. Can barter for room and board, or just meet people"*
  79.
  80. Something is telling you, that maybe this is where you should start off at. You know, just one of those gut feelings.
  81.
  82. Anyways, traveler, your journey starts now. You're own your own. So do your best!

  90. Description of the inn:
  91.
  92. Inside this building, would be a very typical looking tavern. A long bar, with at least twenty stools there, serving the helping of people that are currently drinking. There are a handful of tables, and a few couches placed around a fireplace, which, if it's one of the colder times of the year, will have a fire going in it, always. A sign hangs over the bar, "Ask Bartender for room and board". Pretty straight forward. The inn is always open, and always has a slew of people working. Waiters, waitresses, cleaning tables, managing the bar. They surely can find a job for you too. In the back of the bar, there is a bathroom (Yes, this settlement has running water within the city limits), and next to that, a stair case, assumed to go upstairs to the rooms and such.
  93.
  94. *: The inn has been created, mostly, for the sake of having a set gathering point for everyone entering the setting. That way it's not as confusing, as trying to navigate an entire city initially.

  102. Miscellaneous information about the setting:
  103.
  104. This planet in particular is the 7th planet in a 12 planet system revolving a large, red star. It rotates at a fairly usual pace, only having 26 hours in the day. The planet is tilted on an axis, and has seasons almost identical to Earth. Although they vary in more extremes, thanks to the alien weather patterns. Winter is very cold in most places, with quite a bit of snow, spring is the wet season, with mild to warm temperatures. Summer is quite hot, and in the beginning, still experiences rain showers, while, towards the end, it gets more dry. Fall, of course, it the cool, dry season. The times of day and night also vary, depending on the season. Winter has the short days, and summer has the long ones.
  105.
  106. There are three large, separate continents. The main one, has a big, varying amount of climates, much like North America. There are mostly plains, and forests. The other two continents do not vary as much. One, is dense jungle around the shore lines, but reaches to dry, rocky desert towards the middle. The other, located far, far to the south, is an arctic tundra.
